We\\I went to the Grape on their last night and as usual got a great meal from lovely people. It is so sad to see it go.
We will miss The Grape; it was our go-to neighborhood restaurant for the past 20 years for both special occasions and just because we were craving the mushroom soup. We had reservations the last night they were open for business, and the service was not great. Our server kept rushing us through drinks and eery course -- even took away wine glasses before we were done. The owner was also joyously happy to begin their next adventure, but it felt "in your face" when we were just wanting to have one last quiet and delicious meal at our favorite restaurant.
The restaurant is closing
My favorite place to be in Dallas. One of the oldest restaurants on Greenville avenue and the food is always consistently good. Going to miss this place as it has my favorite burger and the best coal miners pasta. Thank you for spending my last birthday with me.
So sad that the Grape is closing - Glad I got to have that AMAZING burger one last time and got the mushroom soup to go. We use it for our dressing for our Mashed Potatoes at Thanksgiving. We put it in the Freezer.
We had a great dinner on Saturday night, sampling several of our favorites from the menu of this Lower Greenville mainstay, including the cream of mushroom soup, shrimp risotto and steak tournedos with frites. We have many happy memories of coming here over the past 30 years and are truly sorry to see one of our longtime favorite restaurants close. Best wishes to all those who contributed to The Grape's success over all these years!
I would recommend The Grape to anyone who has a time machine that can travel back to before October 8th, 2019. I've had a few wonderful meals there and will miss them dearly.
Everything was perfect! Will miss this place! Thank u for the years of service!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from appetizers to dessert. Our entrees where top notch along with our cocktails. I will truly miss The Grape
Best neighborhood gem. Ever. Fabulous food, outstanding service. Hate to see them go!
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Only problem was that we felt our waiter was trying to rush us out. We could have the table for two hours but after about an hour we felt the staff was getting anxious. It was a busy night so I get they wanted to turn the table over and we were a large party of 9, but we still were hoping to enjoy our food and wine without pressure to leave. Overall though, I loved this place and I know it will be a missed restaurant when it closes this week.
We went to bid this restaurant goodbye. It had been a while since we were there. They were busy and service wasn't overly attentive, but she was very nice. The food was good but not outstanding.
Perfection! Makes me so sad that this is their last week in business... what a loss for all the romantic foodies in Dallas!
Bitter sweet dinner as it was our last at The Grape. Courtney thanks for all of the great dinners and memories. Best to you and your family.

It was so lovely! Beyond sad that The Grape is closing its doors.
We love The Grape and are so sorry to see it go! Blessings to the owners and best wishes on their retirement.
Appetizer Lamb Tartines were flavorful with our cocktails. Famous Mushroom soup was delicious but not served as hot as would be desired.
Delicious entrees (evening special of smoked tenderloin with a mustard horseradish sauce was superb, Pork Chop wonderful as usual. Desserts were delicious and coffee was perfect!
Love, love, love....! Great food and hate to see this Dallas icon close. Thanks for the memories!
Everything in the menu is delicious. The Grape is a long time favorite.,m. On our mist recent visit the food and service were fantastic but it was so loud we couldn’t hear each other across the table. The noise reached a stressful level. We ate and hurried out.
My family has been going to The Grape for many years to celebrate everything from special occasions to special friends - birthdays, new year's eve or simply a great Sunday brunch (an opportunity to get the best burger in town!) - we've enjoyed such great food and great times and The Grape will always have a special place in our hearts - it was great to experience it one last time and it was an amazingly great evening! So long old friend...
End of an era. Thank you!
Amazing food & service as always.
We loved this place!
So sad The Grape is closing. Our last meal there was perfect. The mushroom soup was delicious. I wish they would give me the recipe! Our entrees were perfect. I was a little concerned that since they are closing they would write it in but The Grape is going out with a bang. Best wishes to the owners and the staff.
When the Grape closes down on October 10, Dallas will loose one of its best restaurants. What a shame. It and its owners, the Luschers, are the best.
Terrible service from hostess, bartender and owner/ manager. Thank goodness our server was nice and helpful. It's a good thing they're closing because they obviously didn't care about making people feel welcome. I'm sad we wasted a date night here after so much buzz about how romantic this place is.
Excellence, can’t wait for their next adventure
One last meal, we are going to miss this place, great food, great service, this one is on our top 5.
I started going to The Grape in 1976 while living in Fort Worth. It has never failed to meet our expectations. We're definitely going to miss this spot BIG TIME!
Favorite Restaurant in the city and has the best burger in Texas! I am going to miss coming to this place after living in the area for 27 years. Thank you for being such a special place to us all!
It's wonderful - I am heartbroken they are closing!! Please find a buyer and re-open and don't change a THING!
Wonderful meal and experience as always!
Excellent as always. We are going to miss the Grape.
This was my boyfriend and I's final dining experience at The Grape before it closes, which is incredibly sad. It was, as usual, great. He got the red fish and I got the shrimp and risotto, and a cup of mushroom soup for each of us. We will miss it.
We had an excellent dinner and are devastated that they are closing!
After enjoying this restaurant since 1974 was looking forward to a typically wonderful last experience before they close. The only flaw was the waiter who was quite awful. Ignored us, was almost rude, and made it clear he didn't care about us. Very disappointing and not at all up to the Grape's standards.
I’m still in shock that the Grape is closing. This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. I love this restaurant. Megan was awesome as always. Still sad. Very sad.
Birthday. We are going to desperately miss this place.
Delicious food as always. But the surprise was the Old Fashion cocktail. Just fantastic!
Our first date was 30 years ago at The Grape. I had the same entree that I had that time- tournedos of beef with pommes frites. Wonderful attentive waiter. Great food. Terrible that it all comes to an end soon.
