Great food and service. Just wish there was a bit more disclosure/description on dishes that contain pork.
Decent atmosphere, decent but overpriced food. No reasonably priced bottles of wine on the wine list. Overall, not worth the money and not worth a return visit.
We are big fans! Food, wine, service & ambiance are always perfect! And the location is an added bonus....walking distance!!
Wonderful dinner last Friday night! Excellent Food and Service!
i've returned to the grape several times because of the atmosphere. it's quiet, cozy, romantic and the staff is amazing.
our server was perfectly timed and brought us wonderful wine/menu choices. outstanding food (try the sea scallops).
Excellent food. Quality is one of the few in Dallas that is on par with a Parisian bistro. Servers are very knowledgeable regarding wine.
We had a very enjoyable evening at The Grape. We sat on the porch & the ceiling heater provided a comfortable feel on a chilly night. The muscles & calamari were great as always. The mushroom soup was rich & hearty. The special was great as were the other entrees. We enjoyed the Brut Rose sparkling wine ... Yummy!!! Service was reliable & the atmosphere was definitely European bistro. What a great place to escape the normal American experience!
We've gone to The Grape for special occasions in years past. It was as good as ever.
We were seated immediately. The room felt warm and intimate although the crowd was actually quite large. The wait staff seemed a little taxed, but efficient. The 3 course meal was timed well and the wine was paired nicely with each course. The Sherry with the Creme Brûlée was the best.
Was very nice. However we ordered the wine upgrade with our meal and were only given half glasses of wine. When we asked for full glasses, we were charged extra. At $20 per wine upgrade, we expect full glasses. It was unsat that we were charged extra for full glasses.
A really nice New Year's Eve experience, food was great, service was excellent, wonderful place! For one of the busiest nights of the year, we were not rushed and all of the staff was really friendly. The waiter's recommendations were right on target, the house specialties were absolutely delicious (lamb tartine and mushroom appetizers), and everything added up to a notable dining experience. We wll be back for sure!
Everything was good just not memorable.
Enjoyed our anniversary dinner, food was great, especially the scallops, and so was the comfortable ambiance.
Steak Frites were recommended by server. This dish was mediocre at best. Have eaten here previously, and other dishes far better.
One of my favorites that I keep returning to. Bistro food that is good and serves is attentive but not overbearing. The owners seem to be always there and keeping the place running smoothly. Excellent wine list, even by the glass. With the current owners the decor is improved and the food and service has been consistent in quality.
A classic small intimate restaurant that has the right combination of food, service and ambience.
The starters were all too sweet and mushy, aside from the cheese sampler. A few of the main dishes were good, others were bland and boring. Desserts were all milquetoast and blah. Wine was good
I took my husband for his birth day, and it was a delightful experience. We have been to The Grape many times, but this evening was the most enjoyable for me. I think it was because it was soooo inviting after walking in the cold and the food was so perfect for the season. I had the duck and the apple/cranberry crisp for dessert. The chardonnay that was recommended because it was to be buttery was a very good chardonnay, but it was not buttery. It was crowded. I had to move closer to the table than I wanted, so I would not feel every movement of the gentleman behind me. These were minor details to me. The attentive staff, warmth of the decor, the great food and ambience make me want to return very soon
Fabulous as always. One of my favorites for many years.
Why had it been so long since I'd been to the Grape? Truly a local treasure, this stoic little enclave has held it's ground on Greenville Avenue longer than I can remember. The Grape provides a dining "experience" in every way—a comfort in these fast and furious times of high-volume table turnover gimmick restaurants. I'll be back much sooner next time, old friend. I've neglected you...and my palette.
The Grape has always been my favorite. I haven't been let down, yet. My last two visits have been for Sunday brunch. I need to go to dinner. I used to love the mushroom soup.
Another fine dining experience at The Grape! Promptly seated, and offered menus, food was fantastic - we had the Bistro Steak, Scallops, mussels, and salads/soups/appetizers. It was a delightful evening out with friends capped off by over the top delicious desserts. Our guests were much impressed and pleased.
Would not go back there for dinner. The service was terrible and the food was not that good.We had 6:30 recervations and they were not that busy. The waiter was rud and couldnt answer our questions about a steak special they had. He didnt know what cut of meat it was. We all four order small portions and he brought out the large. We told him in the beginning that that we wanted seperate tickes( 2 ) and he didnt do that. Never came back to the table during the meal to see if we needed anything or ask how the food was.We have been there for brunch and it was good.
My friend and I eat at The Grape often and this is the first time we have experienced poor service. I had to get up twice and find my waiter. It was shocking to have that quality of service at this restaurant.
The Grape is a classic. We have been in the DFW area for over 30 years and visited The Grape many times during that time. It still stays true to it's roots by providing the absolute best Cream of Mushroom Soup and varied menu in town. The selections are small but change all the time and, true to their French influence, are just yummy decadence. The wine list is classic.
The Grape has been in our group of restaurants for many years and we still enjoy going. We are about 40 minutes north of The Grape so we don't get there as often as we like, but when we can, we are always greeted by friendly hostesses, a warm atmosphere and great food.
The Steak Frites were really great. Two tender filets, super fries, fresh greens. Loved it.
Cute restaurant although tables are too close together. Great food.
The famous Cream of Mushroom soup is a must and could be a meal in itself. Everything we had was delicious, the atmosphere was trendy, but inviting even for the "older" crowd, and we loved the service!
The staff was very understanding. It seemed ALL reservations were running late due to a marathon who's path was blocking the restaurant from several directions. Servers and waitstaff took it all in stride. - food was really good!
We don't live in Dallas, so we had not been to The Grape in years. This visit was a great reminder of why we loved it so. The mushroom soup is still stellar, the soup of the day was excellent and the daily fish special was fantastic. Service is excellent, but unobtrusive.
great menu choices for meat eaters, fish eaters and vegetarians!
Very neat place! Went for a small Christmas party (6) and everyone found something they liked...even the picky eaters! This is a smaller, quaint place so a huge party would probably not be best. The service was outstanding and the waiter more than personable.
I've heard so many great things about The Grape - I was excited to try it for my 16th wedding anniversary. It fulfilled my high expectations in every way. The service was attentive and the food was outstanding. I look forward to future dining at this wonderful restaurant.
I have been to the grape several times... and everytime has been great. We had dinner there Friday night, the mushroom soup was amazing as always. However, both of our entrees were terrible. The fish (special of the evening) was overcooked, dry and not at all flaky. The short ribs were covered in fat and grizzle and were unedible.
Picked this restaurant based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. We were seated in the Wine Room. The coziness of the tables is fantastic for a romantic evening. The service was wonderful and the food perfect. The creme brulee is fantastic. Great restaurant!
The Grape was always a treat growing up, so I go back here because the restaurant has never failed to impress my taste buds and make me feel comfortable. What a lovely place!
I had the scallops, perfectly grilled, over a corn polenta, and my companion had the pumpkin ravioli. Both dishes were superb, our martinis were exquisite and the service was impeccable, as always, at our neighborhood gem.
We will certainly be back to this lovely restaurant. Osso Bucco excellent and the ravioli starter delicious!
The burger lived up to the hype; but everything else was mediocre; my rec would be to only go on Sunday or Monday for the burger; other items we had were ok.
Very delightful time, music was way too loud, and the entree was a little bit pricey. We did mention the music and they turned it down for a little bit, but it was back up later.
Other than that, a great neighborhood gem.
