While the menu no longer contained the Ox-Tail and hash entree that was recommended for Sunday brunch, the chilaquiles were quite delicious. My friend had the Haystack, which was also tasty. We will definitely return. We have to, we need to try the reportedly amazing burgers!

We sat in the wine room. The occasion was seeing an old friend I hadn’t seen for a long time. I had the fabulous scallops and she had the salmon. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable...as always!

There is nothing that holds a candle to the mushroom soup at the Grape! We also love the burger (who doesn't!) and enjoy an excuse to not cook dinner on a Monday and go get one at The Grape!

We have been back for a number of occasions. Restaurants and fads come and go in Dallas and only a few establishments continue to exist over the years. This is that type of place. If you want a great meal in a great atmosphere, try The Grape!

Great price for a nice bottle of Bordeaux! The food was excellent and the portions weren't too big. The ambiance is quaint with a European feel. The service was top notch and I will definitely be back again.

The Grape has long been a Neighborhood Gem on Lower Greenville in Dallas. This past Friday we went there with close friends. As couples, we had both eaten at The Grape on multiple occasions in the past and both couples were looking forward to a new visit. Unfortunately, our meals were quite disappointing, and we will not be risking another return.

Some aspects of our experience went well. The valet parking on lower Greenville was more efficient than other nearby locations where we have recently gone. We arrived on time for our reservation, and we were seated promptly. The several cocktails members of our group had were all competently made -- nothing great, but also nothing embarrassing. The wait staff was generally attentive and pleasant. The disappointments we all had were with the food. We all started with the mushroom soup, which was tasty enough but also very heavy on the salt. Still the soups were passable. The entrees were distinctly less so. Two members of the group had the scallops which were large and plump, but covered in relatively tasteless sauce. One member of our group had a disappointing red fish entree, and the last member of our group had the rib-eye steak "special." This special was barely edible: about forty percent of the steak was simply fat. It was poorly prepared -- the request was for "medium well done," and at best the steak was medium rare. As one member of our group stated bluntly, after sampling this entree, it was "disgusting."

We should have protested our meals, and at least returned the steak. But perhaps because we had had such good experiences in the past, we were reluctant to complain. But several days later we are all still recalling our disappointment, and regretting paying four-star prices for two-star food.

We hadn’t been to Grape for a while and this time was as wonderful as the last. The atmosphere was great, good dynamic vibe without being too noisy to interfere with our conversation. Our party of 4 had the scallops, the red fish and the pasta dish, along with the mushroom soup and the seafood soup of the day. Everyone raved about each one. The scallops that I had were prefectly cooked and seasoned. We had some left over pasta that tasted just as good the next day for lunch. Wine selection was also excellent. The Grape is probably one of the best and always consistent restaurants in lower Greenville.

Every morsel of every bite of food and every sip of beverage was exceptional. I splurged on the premium steak and it was worth it. The mushroom soup is famous for a reason. The ambiance is perfect. Even the cookie served with cappuccino was memorable.

First time visiting the Grape the other night. Me and my girl friend got the Braised Lamb Tartine, Nutty Salad, Burger, and Coal Miners Pasta. Each dish was delicious in its own way. Would definitely recommend it and we will be back!

We waited an unacceptable amount of time to be approached by a server. We made a reservation well in advance and was seated at a busy corner table by the kitchen. The experience wasn't welcoming. We most likely won't return.

There was a lady, I'm not sure what her role was, noticed we weren't being served and took it on herself to serve our table. She was very sweet and saved The Grape from a worse review.

Wine was good, food was okay.

I love the cheeseburger. It's the best in the world. I tell people that all the time. It's the Kobi beef, brioche bun and special mustard that put it over the top. The Gyro was a wonderful addition as well. My wife loved the mushroom soup and we tried the pecan pull apart too.

My only complaint is the seating. It's just way too cramped and the chairs are horrible. That's the only reason I don't go there all the time.

The food is excellent. The service is very good. Overall, the Grape is a very good restaurant unless you want to have an intimate or serious talk with your date. If that's what you want, you had better go somewhere else. Not only can you not hear your partner. You're lucky if you can hear yourself. I have never been in such a noisy restaurant. I think this is important. There are many more reasons to go out to eat. And it is certainly possible to design an acoustical system that takes care of this problem. As an example, try eating at Cadot. When you are there, think about how silent the place is, no batter how crowded. Then, look at the baffle set-up in the ceiling. Then think about what it sounds like at the Grape. They could do better for their customers

The Grape has been a favorite with us for many years. The most recent visit on a Monday evening was, however, disappointing. Our wine choices were excellent but the food took a long time coming and the main meals were both look warm and overcooked. We attribute the problems to staff shortages on Monday. Management was apologetic and adjusted the bill. We continue to think highly of The Grape, but we will not return for Monday dinner.

Went to The Grape for an anniversary dinner, not having been there for years. Exceeded our expectations - excellent food and atmosphere. Our waiter Kyle helped make it even more fun, with excellent suggestions on food and wine, and interesting conversation. Would go back in a heartbeat. Ask for Kyle.

Our baked brie appetizer was great, as was each specialty cocktail and glass of wine. My scallops were cooked perfectly and my wife enjoyed her shrimp louie.

We often forget about his neighborhood gem, and then are glad we went back.

This particular night there was a drunk foursome making the outside patio almost unbearable as they tried to shout over each other. We tried to move inside but they were completely full. I'm very glad they continue to do so well and hope they are around another 30 years!

The service was great. The drinks were great. The food....was okay. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. Enjoyed it. Main dishes were nothing special. My sisters braised beef short rib and my grilled pork chop were on the bland side. Our warm apple cinnamon dessert was an apple cinnamon dessert minus the warm.
