The Grape is one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. A standby that never disappoints with wonderful food, service and drinks.
Ate here with my fiancée immediately after our engagement and it was the best dinner of our lives.
Always consistently good food, like the new menu changes, professional service, good wine selection. We enjoyed our evening.
Great food, great service. The mushroom soup is excellent!
I continue to bring friends to enjoy the food, the service and the wine; I and my friends have never been disappointed. Thanks for another lovely evening!
The Grape has been a favorite of mine for nearly 40 years. I’m sure it will continue to be, but this was not one of my best cisits. Sat on the patio, and I guess there was some question about who had my table. After 20 minutes, I told the hostess that nobody seemed to own my table, so she took my drink order and a waiter appeared minutes later. I ordered one of my old favorites, Coal Miners Pasta. I’ve eaten this dish many times, but I was surprised by the amount of salt this time. I’ll probably try once more, but if this is the new normal, I’ll have to find a new favorite. Again, I love this place and will certainly be back. Everybody has a bad day now and then. This was one.
The Grape is one of our tried and true places for a guaranteed good meal. I was disappointed in the scallop dish this time, however. Everything was over salted.
Very good salads. Entree quality lacking. Ok place not great
I frequent The Grape and I love it. The staff is great but the last two time I went the service was disappointing. The time before we went for brunch and getting our drinks filled was a struggle. This past time though, woah. I’ve felt more welcomed at McDonalds. The experience felt like the Cheesecake Factory. New items or specials weren’t recommended to us by the server. Maybe they didn’t have any but every time in the past our server has been more informative and welcoming.
The food is interesting and delicious. The service is very good.
We went there for my daughter's birthday. They very kindly had the flowers I'd ordered waiting on the table, but it wasn't the nicest table in the room for a special occasion.
Our server, Crystal, was very nice and helpful.
The Prosecco and the wine we ordered were excellent, as were the Appetizers - Baked Brie, Grilled Artichokes and their famous Cream of Mushroom Soup - all absolutely delicious and well-presented. My daughter's fiancé's main course of Seared Scallops was also delicious, but I'm afraid that's where it ended. Both my daughter's Grilled Salmon and my Roast Chicken were dry, not very tasty and quite indifferently plated. My Creamy Mashed Potato was nice, but the Broccoli which accompanied my Chicken was dreadful, burnt and tough, quite inedible. After we complained, they were good enough to bring us a small, complimentary desert sampler, again delicious and well-presented, as a gesture for my daughter's birthday, and which I had requested in advance, but the bill was still very high for the quality of the food.
I’ve loved the Grape since the 70s but my veal shank was so salty I could not eat it! Plus, it was my birthday and they didn’t offer free dessert which is standard now!
Melba Del Bagno
Burger was amazing! Fries over seasoned but well cooked. Will be back next time we are in town!
The Grape has been a favorite restaurant for years. The quality of food, service and presentation has been high and consistent. The owners have never let their standards slip a bit. Their mushroom soup is a must have. My husband and I live 5 hours away and a few times a year we make a special trip to Dallas just for dinner and have never once thought it wasn't worth the drive and overnight stay.
We celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary at the Grape on Saturday, the 30th and it was lovely! The restaurant is very cosy and comfortable although got a bit loud as it filled up. Our waitress was fabulous and very professional. We never felt rushed and we were able to enjoy a fabulous meal! I had the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection. My husband had the pasta carbonara and it was really good also. Coffee and dessert were a nice treat! All-in-all it was a great dinner!
We sat “outside” which was noisier and had less ambience than inside between small children and loud trucks unfortunately, and there were no specials. Since they just changed their menu, the waiter was unable to recommend anything based on his management’s direction.
Very pricey. Small area. If you're tiny sit inside with nice ambiance. If you're bigger sit on outside patio where there is a bit more room. You get to see the street and people watch. Excellent service. My steak salad was good. The Amish chicken was generous in portion but very, very bland. Overall I'm glad I went and tried it but would not make it one of my regular places.
Reliably good food and friendly service - and a great happy hour too! Valet makes parking a non-issue.
Great pasta dish. Excellent pork chop! A great chef.
The Grape has been a favorite of mine for 40 years. As always, service, food, and tone hit the right balance for a contented evening.
Dinner with friends. Service was friendly, very good. Food was also very good. It was Monday night/burger night, and the burger was excellent. Large enough that we could have shared one. Roasted brussels sprouts were also very good. The lemon hot buttered rum cake for dessert was excellent!
Great service from the host, to waitress, and the valet. Good experience.
The service was not suburb but the staff was friendly enough to carry a conversation with. The burger is of course the featured item because of it's high-quality standard but very good to say the least.
Absolutely perfect!!! This is my go to restaurant when family and friends come into town.
Grape is a always a great experience for just a night on the town or that special celebration dinner.
Always a good experience at the grape. The food is always top notch and the patio is a great way to spend a nice evening especially a warm one. The steak skewer salad and mushroom soup are delicious and highly recommended
Simply a great place to go, great food, impeccable service and all around a good time, no wonder they've been in business sooo long, check it out you won't be disappointed
Food was fantastic. Mushroom soup is phenomenal even if you do not like mushrooms. Bistro steak and lamb chops were excellent and frittes always tasty. Two small children (under 6) accompanied us to the dinner. Staff were very child friendly and brought their entrees immediately - someone at this restaurant has children because they did not miss a beat.
This is old school Dallas at its best, our son in law and daughter who live here gave us a gift card for our 38th anniversary. Our server was accommodating offering happy hour prices for our apps and a free dessert.
This place is quiet and intimate for conversation. Food is excellent. We had the salmon and my husband
Had the steak and frites. Would recommend this place, the outside patio also looked like a fabulous place for happy hour.
Awesome staff! From the valet to the waitstaff and back of house crew, all were warm, welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Best calamari in town. Of course you couldn’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Been there several times, the food and service have been great. Mushroom soup is wonderful.
The staff were very nice - the hostess, the bartender, server, and bus-men. The food was excellent. Hasn’t been here in a while. Glad all is still great.
We did the Come As You Are Wine Dinner and it was absolutely FABULOUS! I would recommend it to anyone. The menu was thoughtfully constructed and the food and wine pairings were superb. The price for the experience is also exceptional. The dinner feels like it would be much more expensive - such a great value. Thanks!
The mushroom soup was delicious! It seems silly to rave about the bread butter before the meal, but it was excellent and I don’t know why but the butter was the best butter I’ve ever had. The calamari was cooked perfectly and we really liked the sweet and sour sauce it was served with. And the steak frites (medium rare) was wonderful. Seriously one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
Food and wait staff were wonderful as always. But I adore the new complimentary valet. It's been a long time since I've eaten at The Grape or anywhere on Lower Greenville because of parking issues. I'll be back soon!
We always love coming to The Grape. They never disappoint!
We have been dining at the Grape for more than 33 years. It is consistently excellent, the food, the service the ambiance and the neighborhood gem quality!
The Grape is a Greenville Ave institution which we have been frequenting since 1972. The newer owners Courtney and Brian are fabulous.....it is always a treat to come to enjoy the atmosphere, food and nostalgia that is The Grape!!
We had a wonderful time. The calamari was perfect. And we all got the mushroom soup. Amazing. Dinner was delicious. Wonderful selection of wines, and the waiter knew all about them.
As always, we will be back next time we are in Dallas.
Nice meal with out of town friends. A few comments though. T he bread is below par for a restaurant like this that prides itself on always focusing on the food . The Flammenkuchen crust could also have been better. Overall pleasant and nice service
