Great food and service. Lovely atmosphere in an old 19th century house. Very friendly staff.

We chose the Grant House for a Saturday Brunch with friends. The house is very neat and filled with historic charm. Unfortunately the meal did not live up to the setting. The portions were so small for the price. $11 for two pieces of French toast. $6 for three tiny pieces off bacon. My wife's quiche and salad were equally small and over priced. We actually left there and went and had sushi.

the entrees at that price should include some type of provided extra such as bread or a basic salad. Portions could be a bit more larger too.

We tried to come here one summer night and showed up right when they were getting ready to close. There were lots of people still eating and some who had just sat down. We were hoping to just have a drink but were told the bartender wasn't able to provide us with good service at the time so we couldn't stay. That sounds like a cop out for "we want to get out on time." The fact that we even came back again is a miracle.

Fell short on expectations. Despite not being busy and having reservations we still had to wait for a table.

We did have a nice table overlooking the patio. Our mussels appetizer was decent and with a good flavor but about 20% of the mussels were closed.

The kale salad was very small but tasty, would have liked a bigger portion for $8.

My friends osso bucco was awful. He said there was no flavor and it was seriously lacking seasoning. The greens on the side were drowned in liquid and garlic.

My salmon was ok but for $27 I was expecting something better.

Will not be back.

The food was ok, below value for the cost. The service was very good, but the cost was high for what you got. Also the French toast came drenched in syrup which made it impossible to eat, saggy and to sweet. We were told that we had to ask for it on the side if we wanted it that way.

Very nice atmosphere and great food (salmon was exceptional and you have to try the sweet and spicy nuts). Service was exceptional and they even stayed a little late to let us enjoy our dinner (we had a later reservation). Would definitely recommend.

Food was excellent, the service was also and the trout was some of the best I've ever had. Met with a good friend from out of state for dinner and the historic Officer's Row and specifically the Grant House were a hit.

Food was burnt and under cooked. What a disappointment. For $125.00 I expected much more. Do not eat here, you will be disappointed. The manager offered for me and my girlfriend to come back, on the house and I refused. That is how bad this place is. The staff even noticed how burnt the food was burnt. This place sucks. I would not take a goat to eat at this place.

We went for brunch & decided on breakfast items. I ordered over easy eggs & bacon. I made a point to specify to our waitress that the egg yokes MUST be runny. When she brought our plates it was beyond obvious both egg yokes were hard!! I sent them back and now had to wait while my wife began eating so her food would not cool. The waitress brought my breakfast a second time and the egg yokes were half hard! I wanted to eat with my wife, so I accepted them. What is the matter with the waitress and cook staff that a simple request for runny egg yokes cannot be carried out (even the second time)?? I, as an amateur, could have prepared those eggs properly. We thought the food offerings were over-priced and combined with a complete lack of fulfilling a simple food preparation request leads us to not return for breakfast or brunch. Possibly we will try Happy Hour.

The Grant House has great seating areas, including in the dining room with fireplace, the solarium, and out on the patio amongst the gardens in the historic neighborhood. The host and server were both friendly and attentive.

I met for breakfast a cousin I hadn't seen for a year or two. The staff were very sensitive to our need to catch up before turning our attention to the menu. The wait staff described excellently the dish my cousin was interested in. We both cleaned our plates so her food must have been as delicious as mine!

This was a birthday brunch celebration and fun for all. Only negative comment would be portion sizes relative to price. The biggest offender was the homemade granola & yogurt; $10 for the small bowl left the individual hungry.

We have eaten there several times and we have always enjoyed the food & service. Saturday was a tea with parade of various period costumes strolling by and through the Resturant. We are planning to do this Tea annually.

We were there for my husbands birthday. We did mention to our server, but she didn't really care. We were there for about one and half hours, our server only show up three times. It was a pity that the place and food were actually good, but lack of good service!!

We visit the Grant House for dinner occasionally to hear our favorite musician - guitarist Doug Smith. He generally plays either in the bar area or on the outside porch in the summer. I learned that even though one can make a reservation for the restaurant, these areas are first come first served. So if you're coming to a Tuesday evening music event, come early.... reservations do not apply to these areas. The food is great and it's a cool historic house.

This was my first time eating at the Grant house. I was a little disappointed because the breakfast menu was changed that day. If I had know I would have opted for lunch. I spoke with someone at the restaurant, looked online, and also menu board in front of restaurant and a change was not noted. The food was good just I had looked forward to the chicken and waffles or cornflake French toast. A bother customer came in for biscuits and gravy. I had the avocado spread on toasted bread topped with a poached egg. The slabbed bacon was really good. If I make it back I would opt to try lunch, and hope my choices will still be available

Very disappointing. We have had get to gethers for up to 12 people and always enjoyed it. This time our drinks were not refilled, seldom saw the waitress. Menu was VERY limited even though we had told them we wanted to eat lunch. We were told to be there prior to three as then it is only the Bar Menu.

We also told them we were all Vets and two of us showed ID. Discount given was for only the two and not even spouses!

Previous the waitress was super kind, said she also cooked. We just loved her. Discount was for all. In this case the get to gather cam from Kentucky and Tacoma.

I had ordered soup and Fish and Chips. Soup never came.

Dined with friends who joined my wife and I for a night out on our Anniversary. The pasta topped with grilled chicken breast was very good and a nice portion to fill you up. The steak bites were also good. Each couple had a full size salad to share with their partner. The restaurant has a policy not to split those salads for you, but they do provide an extra plate so you can do it. The dining room we were in was not real busy, so the noise level was minimal. Had it been full, I can see where it might be noisy due to high ceilings and wooden floors. The ambiance is good, with the historic character of the building. We will definitely return again.

This was our second visit to the Grant House and we weren't disappointed. Service and ambience are delightful. My entree was disappointing but our server quickly insisted on removing it from the bill. This is a charming old building and the restaurant makes the most of it. We will return again.
