The Grange
The Grange Bar & Eatery serves up blackboard specials, comfort grub and drinks in a friendly farmhouse-inspired space, featuring cozy booths, white oak floors, brick-lined walls and antique chandeliers. This downtown restaurant and bar also offers a tidy list of ingredient heavy dishes. Treat yourself to a roasted-beet salad, some watermelon with feta or seared crab cakes, served next to celery slaw.
The Grange is a popular neighborhood watering hole. Alongside its rotating offering of beer and wine, the 74-seat bar offers a special beverage program that features specialty cocktails such as the Convent Stroll (soda, lemon juice, ginger, whiskey and honey). Open all through the week, The Grange stays in full swing until 4 a.m. every day, making it an appealing pick for the late night crowd.

Wanted to come in before indoor dining shut down & share my favorite neighborhood spot with a visiting friend. Did not disappoint! The wait staff was very friendly & helpful with recommendations, even those who weren’t our immediate server. That kind of welcoming demeanor is what keeps me coming back again and again. Always a great experience!
Great experience
Great food, the oxtail was delicious. The service was fantastic, our server Danielle was so attentive. The ambiance is calming.
Succulent food, impeccable service and great atmosphere. Vladimir was outstanding as our server. Will be back again.
I was very hungry and didn't want to cook dinner so I figured why not have a date night. I choose this restaurant because they had a good looking picture of a burger although a burger isn't what I wanted, I was sold and we went. The service from the moment we entered was great. I guess it is a bit easier since it is only 25% indoor capacity, however, I feel like that is how it should always be to make the service to customer's easier and more intimate. I would go again everything was pretty much perfect.
It was birthday celebration for my partner (30th!) and I had requested a cake slice (and of course to pay for it) in advance during reservation. We didn’t receive that courtesy.
The food on offer is outstanding; hence the ratings. Would suggest there be regular changes to the menu (even marginal) so it keeps bringing us back. The menu doesn’t seem to have changed for late summer.
The tip that is included in the bill was expensive for no reason, but everything else was wonderful. The food was good especially the ribs and burgers.
Thanksgiving
My absolute favorite restaurant in the neighborhood! Such amazing food and vibes.
Wry accommodating and kind. The lamb burger was out of this world.
Many great options. Dessert and drinks delish too!
Everything was great from the food, to the drinks and live music. The only improvement I would like to see is in service. The host wasn’t welcoming. Our server was subpar in answering our questions and taking care of our needs. However the busboy was very hospital. Enjoyed it, but definitely felt a disconnect in our experience. Would come back to give it another shot. I know things are hard due to COVID. So thank you!
The food was solid.Prices were a bit too high for what it was but the meal was still good..The atmosphere however was excellent.
The Grange has long been a neighborhood favorite of mine. And I'm am happy to be able to support during this time.
Such delicious food. The veggie burger was top notch! Would also recommend the sweet potato croquettes, wow!
Had such a great time. Our waitress was so sweet and helped us with some recommendations. Will def go back! :)
Outstanding food, staff and location
Food is always great and the service is excellent. What more can one ask for?
Went on Jazz Night Sunday. Our amazing bartendress offered us shots after our 4 shared plates but we were buzzing from our double cocktails. If it weren't for COVID I am sure the indoor space would have been packed. As it was a full-house by regulation standards. Food was incredibly delicious; rich but not overly so. Ordered veggie and pescatarian food and everything was great. Not a bad dish in the bunch. A real find for the area and it is significantly cheaper than south of 125. i.e. $99 for four cocktails and four shared small plates < tax and tip. A wonderful deal for La Gran Manzana!!
Very grateful for the large outdoor seating area. We were very happy and warm next to the heat lamps. Service was warm and efficient as always. Thanks!
Overall I enjoyed my experience at The Grange and hope to return. I dined inside and was easily able to make a reservation to do so. There was also cozy seating outside that was adequately spaced out. I had a glass of wine, steak salad and Parmesan fries. My date had the Ruby cocktail chicken sliders and fries. Serving size was a healthy portion. My salad was a little overdressed but tasty. The fries needed to be a little more crispy, but the flavor was good. The wine as a heavy pour, and perfect serving to go with my entree. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the desserts this time as it was so late. But I look forward to doing so on my next visit.
Food was very good and server made an excellent suggestion for wine
Some of the outdoor seating options are interesting and awkward but okay nonetheless. Our server was nice but didn't check on us as often as we needed assistance; the restaurant wasn't at capacity. The food was good as usual and the wine selection very decent. I will definitely return, it is close to where I live and have a lot of food menu options.
Everything was terrific but particularly their accommodation of children.
Good food good service but a bit noisy on street .
Live jazz on the Sunday night we dined made it more of an event than dinner. (set up so outdoor and indoor diners can enjoy) Wonderful trio. Market Soup (Fresh Pea) was delicious and steak salad had much higher quality steak than most "steak" salads. Do not skip the house made donuts with fix'ins. Interesting beers.
Most delicious food and excellent service. Given Covid pandemic the outdoor setting meant things were a bit "road noisy" but didn't interfere with enjoyable meal.
I came here on a date last Sunday for their jazz night. The food was incredible and the staff was nice! Just be aware if you make a reservation you will be seated inside. I wasn’t a huge fan of sitting inside and asked to be moved outside and was told it would be a 45 minute wait which was kinda a bummer. Other than that the experience was fantastic. 100% would recommend.
Love this place! Great for a date and also catching up with friends.. great service! Menu is fantastic!!
Our server was wonderful, and they have a very lovely outdoor space.
My party and myself had a wonderful time. We went to celebrate my partner's birthday and everything was great. The service was very good and the food as well.
Always a great time at The Grange. They have a very unique menu and incredible cocktails. Service was excellent; food came out hot, several check-ins, quickly refilled water glasses, and great follow up.
The outside dining is very lovely; could use a few more plants to create a more substantial barrier on Amsterdam, but overall very nice.
Outstanding! First time in and was impressed. Food was prepared perfectly and priced well for the portions. Great outside dining area with good ambiance and delicious drinks. Can’t wait to come back and try other stuff
The Grange is a very good and reliable neighborhood place for casual dining. Great selection of beers and wines. Good burgers too. Service is good, friendly, and generally attentive. The Grange features live jazz on Sunday nights. We’re very happy that they seem to be surviving the pandemic. For now, all dining is outside. The only drawback to eating there—and it isn’t the restaurant’s fault—is the noise level on Amsterdam Avenue. It’s pretty horrendous. If you go, be prepared for that.
Nice evening. Respectful of Covid measures.
The server was fantastic! However, the hostess was not. When I arrived, she did not have the table that I had requested. Which would normally be understandable, but she JUST sat another customer there whose full party wasn’t even with them. So she clearly did not read my reservation note. And on top of it, she tried to pass the blame upon the wait staff, who was doing double duty already, for her ignorance. We’re people, we all make mistakes. But the worst part about it, was this hostess not apologizing & pointing fingers at her own coworker—not acceptable, period.
The Grange was great! The service was impeccable. I wish I knew her name our server made the experience pleasant! I would definitely go back! I recommend it for cocktails or dinner!
Succulent food
This neighborhood gem is the best. I treated myself to an early dinner and my book and it was lovely. Every employee is beyond friendly, and seating is very appropriately distanced, which I appreciated. The seating isn’t the most comfortable but I didn’t mind because I enjoyed my time so much. I had the burrata and peach salad which blew my mind, seriously so so tasty. I also had my favorite Austin East Cider Watermelon that they had on draft. The best. Towards the end of my meal it began to torrential DOWN POUR, so everyone huddled under the awning which was a sweet little shared experience. I cannot speak highly enough about this spot. Will definitely be back time and time again.
