This restaurant is permanently closed. Under executive chef and owner Brannon Florie, The Granary features a locally-focused menu that celebrates the Lowcountry’s abundant resources. We arrived earlier than our intended reservation so it wasnt very busy. The ambience was nice. The bar area was a long table with a great view of the kitchen.

Since this was our 1st visit we tried some of the happy hour items. All were nice, mussels, whitefish crostini, and short rib sliders. We are huge fans of brussel sprouts and let me tell you THESE DO NOT DISAPPOINT! Maybe not the healthiest as they are deep fried but they were perfectly cooked with a delicious maple sherry shallot gastrique. Also, had the pork belly small plate whcih also does not disappoint. It came served with grits, over easy egg and finished with a basil oil and parmeson cheese. Breakfast in a bowl and breakfast is great anytime! My husband also had the truffle fries and veggie flatbread both were good, but our favorites were the brussel sprouts and pork belly. We'll definitely come back as the food was good, the prices were right and there were some other very satisfying dishes coming through the kitchen window.

My wife and I regularly go to the Granary for "date night". The menu is really good. They cure their meats on site, and pickle their own vegetables. Great venue, and now they are moving to Coleman Blvd., which will be even better.

Our service was very poor. Ordered a cheese late that came quickly but then our server disappeared for 20-30 mins. Finally got to order entrees but he messed up my friends order. She is deathly allergic to anything in the onion family and he had onions on her plate and on burger. Then took a bit to fix it but brought it out again with onions on the plate. I would prob think twice before going back. Our dinner took 3 hrs and should have only been 1-1/2 to 2 hrs. Had to wait on ck as well.

Best shrimp and grits! Also, the fried oyster appetizer was light and tasty serve with a fresh lemony hummus. I'll be back!

The food was excellent and the drink menu extensive! I recommend the Moscow Mule, it's amazing ! The wait staff was friendly and attentive especially since we had a large dining party ( 7 people )

Second time to The Granary. Will not be back. Shrimp and grits was mediocre. No spice and the ham was not country. Oyster appetizer was good but not outstanding. Very ordinary meal and not worth the cost.

Waiter was a smart alec, food was under cooked, cake was so dry it was brick like. One guest sent his brick cake back but did not get a replacement and was charged for it. Bills had wrong amounts and wrong couples bills combined incorrectly. Waiter argued with me about an additiinal charge for liquor over the rocks as opposed to straight, a total ripoff. My duck was so rubbery thought I thought I was eating a duck from the duck race. All in all a terrible evening. Never will return to this incredibly bad restaurant. DO NOT GO HERE!

We've been a regular at The Granary and it remains one of our favorite places to eat. We love the simple menu, the small, private atmosphere and the fantastic food, every time we go. Service is always great and pricing is very fair. Great place - one of our favorites in Mt Pleasant.

The food was good, but not amazing. Although the truffle fries were pretty amazing. We really enjoyed the whiskey flight. Overall, it was a good experience.

This was my third visit to The Granary. My husband and I find this to be a perfect date night, not too expensive for our weekly night out, but oh, soooo good! The Moscow Mules are the best in town. We tried the meat and cheese board this time and we're happy we did. The house cured meats are excellent but are even more fun to eat with the accompanying bread, fruit, and cheeses. My husband had the duck two ways and it's pretty awesome, but my scallops with Geechee boy grits were the BEST! There were some charred okra and corn and tomatoes that really made the dish colorful and complex. This was the tastiest meal I've had this year. Kudos to The Granary, no longer the newest spot with all the buzz, but getting better with time.

Overall I loved the look of the place. The décor was beautiful. Didn't feel like it was the best place for a date night due to lack of privacy. Only a few booths and the tables were so close to our neighbors it was difficult at times to concentrate on our conversation because of the noise volume from neighboring tables. Server was excellent. Made good suggestions. Came for restaurant week. Menu looked appetizing...food was good, not great. Felt like the cuisine was average at best taste wise. Probably won't return.

Food was excellent. Hadn't been in two years but quality hadn't missed a step. Great modern American food.

My favorite dish was the pork belly with a fried egg and creamy, herby grits. Pork belly is often hit-or-miss but this was very well done (crispy on outside and very tender on inside).

The last time we ate at the Granary was shortly after it opened & we thought it was nothing special, but agreed to give it another try and glad we did. The food and service were very good and we'll certainly go back again soon.

The food here is inventive, modern, and expertly done. Everything was amazingly delicious! I recommend the Sunday brunch . The pork belly sausage and gravy biscuits are to die for as are the truffle fries . My husband can vouch for the duck confit leg and waffle as well. I do recommend making a reservation, though because they fill up fast !

Overall the experience was great, we had to wait a while to be seated even though we had reservations. The staff took a while to warm up to us, my wife didn't like a dish that was ordered. However, Lindsay made the necessary modifications.

We had been before for Sunday Brunch - honestly might be the best shrimp and grits around - and wanted to return for a dinner. Dinner proved this kitchen knows what they are doing. The Wreck fish was to perfection, the crowder peas under the summer sausage was so good I could have just eaten a bowl of them, and the sausage was fantastic. Really - 5 stars!

We had a large group of 10 that met for brunch. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Great service. Great menu. DELISH brunch. We had a tough time deciding on a dish. I went with the Pork & eggs and split their waffle with Nutella with a friend. Both were amazing. Definitely a top Sunday Brunch spot in Mt Pleasant.

The restaurant wasn't crowded but we were seated in some long, skinny annex room like the poor relations. The server rarely came back to check on us -- my husband had to get up to find him to order a second glass of wine! He complained to the waiter who, upon returning with the wine, slammed it down on the table.

The heirloom tomato salad was served cold and I buy better heirlooms in the market! The grits (in shrimp and grits) were dreadful and the shrimp were tiny. The fish of the day however, was good -- interesting curry infused sauce.

When the table was cleared, the manager (or someone not dressed in waiter attire) came and presented us with a check. My husband asked if there was dessert and the guy said, well I can bring you a menu (with attitude) which we of course declined.

All in all an awful dining experience which I'd not recommend to my worst enemy.

I love this place. The food is always so fresh and the Moscow Mules are the best I've ever had.

On this trip, We had an unexpected critter visitor (hey, it's the South) and our server and manager we're very apologetic and even treated us to dessert.

Excellent food, excellent t service.

The pork chop and the shrimp and grits were awesome. Special tomato salad with peaches and cheese was amazing. Cheesecake with blueberries was great!

Loved this place! Innovative menu and great staff. However, two quick things...get the air conditioning to keep up--bring some lower vents--it was murderously hot and second, serve the flatbread with eggs on a heated platter--the kind you'd use to keep a steak hot--the stone slab looks cool but fried eggs don't do well at room temperature. Sounds odd I know--eggs too cold and room too hot.

Their take on shrimp and grits is well conceived and expertly executed. My wife said the french toast was delicious. Sunday morning plus was a special on the champagne cocktail. We got a recommendation from a restaurateur in Charleston and we need to go back to Artisan Meat Share and thank him.

Inconsistent Food, Bad Service, Terrible Management. Combine this with the I don't care attitude of the owner. It's not worth investing any more of my time to go into ALL the particulars of everything. Save yourself some frustration & money. I recommend having Sunday Brunch at Crave just off the IOP connector.
