The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s.
Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. Outdoor patio dining and fireside dining are available in season.
The restaurant offers lunch and dinner daily, as well as a special breakfast/lunch a la carte menu offered on Saturdays from 11 am to 4pm. Sunday 11am to 3 pm.

Always a great selection of food that I want and enjoy! It was my friend’s first time at The Grain House and he loved it! Our server, Lance, was wonderful as were all the staff who helped us!

We waited way too long for the food to be served. Eating in the main dining room is comparable to eating in a cafeteria. Food was ok. The lousy service is a deal breaker for me. Won’t be going back.

I find the Grain House to be a pleasant place to take out of town guests. It’s charming and the menu is varied enough to satisfy most people. The food , while solid, just never seems to shine. The description on the menu sounds fantastic but the dish itself doesn’t quite make it. I always tell my guests to save room for dessert- they are outstanding.

Went on a busy Sunday for brunch and showed up with 3 people instead of 2. Normally under these circumstances I would have called to cancel, but management and staff were gracious about the last minute change and juggled a few things to accommodate us. Flexibility very much appreciated, and a very nice brunch was enjoyed by all!

Wonderful. We always love it here my wife and I! We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. The olde mill inn and grain house is where we're married a year ago. Our favorite place! Serena our server and bartender was outstanding!
