El restaurante Grain House está ubicado en una propiedad de 4 hectáreas del Olde Mill Inn en Basking Ridge, Nueva Jersey. La estructura fue construida originalmente como un granero en la década de 1760 y fue utilizado para almacenar granos para los soldados americanos revolucionarios. El granero se trasladó mas tarde a su ubicación actual y se abrió como un restaurante en la década de 1930. Love the Grain House. We always eat in the bar area, as you can see the historical structure. It is wonderful. The food is always great and the service good. The bartender made sure our 18-month old son got his dinner very quickly. It was great. We were sooo appreciative.

After reading that this restaurant was rated highly as a romantic restaurant, we came here for our anniversary dinner. The drive was about 45 minutes. The restaurant itself was in an historic inn which was wonderful. We sat at a table which I assume was the main dining room. The room was full of people talking really loudly. The table next to us was using a lot of “4 letter words”. It was hardly a romantic setting. I was expecting a quiet, subdued atmosphere for our anniversary. Instead it was more of a loud bar-like atmosphere. Our cocktails seemed very watered down. They did redo them and they corrected that problem. On the positive side, food was delicious. However I doubt we will make the drive there again to dine, mainly because of the lack of a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

The mini chicken taco appetizer is a must - delicious. Unfortunately, much of the other food was mediocre and the inside smelled very musty.

Always a great selection of food that I want and enjoy! It was my friend’s first time at The Grain House and he loved it! Our server, Lance, was wonderful as were all the staff who helped us!

We waited way too long for the food to be served. Eating in the main dining room is comparable to eating in a cafeteria. Food was ok. The lousy service is a deal breaker for me. Won’t be going back.

I find the Grain House to be a pleasant place to take out of town guests. It’s charming and the menu is varied enough to satisfy most people. The food , while solid, just never seems to shine. The description on the menu sounds fantastic but the dish itself doesn’t quite make it. I always tell my guests to save room for dessert- they are outstanding.

Went on a busy Sunday for brunch and showed up with 3 people instead of 2. Normally under these circumstances I would have called to cancel, but management and staff were gracious about the last minute change and juggled a few things to accommodate us. Flexibility very much appreciated, and a very nice brunch was enjoyed by all!
