Nothing beats a dining in a warm cozy environment on a cold winters night. We ate in the tavern, which was clean and the tables were well spaced. The fire in the fireplace helped us thaw out and relax. Our waiter was attentive, the food (roast Chicken and classic cheeseburger) was tasty and well presented, but not pretentious. We were glad we made reservations as it was considerably busy for mid week dinner. Will definitely be back.
One of the dishes ordered was just OK, not what was expected
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Highly recommend The Grain House!
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!! come back soon.
Wonderful Historic restaurant in upscale NJ town, worth the trip for any event
Thanks so much. We appreciate the feedback. Come back soon.
Great experience !I would recommend to all to go !
Thanks for the feedback. Hope to see you again!!
Hadn't been in years. Same quality. Same service. Same value.
Amber was excellent. She smiled and explained the special and answer are questions. Thanks. We’ll be back.
Lovely setting in the pub and we all enjoyed our entrees. Service was very good.
We'll be back :)
Great food, very nice ambiance
The pork chop was amazing! It must have been 3" thick and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the British pub feel with the fireplace. The service was good. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. However, he should be trained a little more as his knowledge of what was on the menu is limited. I enjoyed the meal very much and will definitely be coming back.
Hi Mike! thanks so much for the feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed everything and look forward to your next visit. We agree, the pork chop is amazing!
Wonderful - eat fireside - stay nice and warm. Brought friends - they loved it.
Thanks Bonnie!! Hope to see you again soon.
Very nice food and atmosphere!
Great atmosphere excellent burger and avocado toast
Thanks for the feedback Molly! Hope to see you again soon!!!
We made a reservation for my son’s birthday as he loved it so much when we went a year or so ago. Last time, the service was attentive, the food delicious and portion sizes appropriate for the price. Last time, I felt very comfortable as we had a terrific table for the 4 of us with plenty of space between tables. We were given a table really meant for 2 (we had to keep moving glasses and cutlery around just to make space to eat. The table itself was also right on top of 3 other tables which were all full. The wait staff took forever in between coming by and we had to ask for refills of water/drinks. The Mac and cheese wedge was over cooked and dry. We felt like sardines shoved in front of the fireplace room for a very expensive bill. We didn’t even get dessert for a birthday celebration, which was not acknowledged at all though I put it in the reservation information. Very disappointing and am honestly hoping we don’t get sick. The waiter had a mask on but it was never covering his nose so pointless to wear.
We are truly sorry that you did not have the experience that you had last year. Like most places these days, we are short staffed but trying to do our best. Last year the tables were all 6ft apart due to state wide mandates. Those mandates have all been lifted. Our servers choose to wear a mask even though they are triple vaxxed & not required to. It seems that we failed you at every turn and I do sincerely apologize. I hope you'll give us another try sometime. Your experience was not the norm.
All of the food was well prepared and delicious. Our waitress Laura was one of the best servers personality wise and handled our group well. Cannot wait to go back!
Thanks so much for the feedback. We're happy to hear that you enjoyed everything and we agree about Laura! I'll be sure to let her know. Hope to see you again soon.
I had the Angus burger, and it was delicious. Topped with blue cheese and served with fries and onion rings, it made for a great brunch!
Six of us went to the Grain House for lunch. Our server, Amber, was very friendly and efficient. All of our drinks and meals came correctly and in a timely manner. The food was very good. The lunch menu has a selection of salads, sandwiches, and some smaller entrees. The food was good and reasonably priced. There was a decent amount of space between tables and our room had a lovely fire going in the fireplace -- a very nice ambience. We will definitely go here again.
Thank you!! We are glad that you enjoyed everything. Yes, we agree, Amber is awesome! Hope to see you again soon.
Good pumpkin soup. Turkey sandwich was real turkey, not lunch meat.
Service slow due to continuing shortage of employees due to Covid-19.
This was my wife’s Birthday, which is always awakened 2 days after Christmas. I try to make it very for her….
IT WAS…!! And delightful…!!
Nice place to go with family and a baby for a holiday dinner out. The food was great! The cocktails were ok and the wine selection was ok too. We’ll definitely go back! The staff was friendly and accommodating to our stroller and got us high chair as well. Want to try the CopperTop pub side as well.
This place was beautiful. Went for brunch, the food was wonderful and the service impeccable.
Server was very pleasant and efficient. We thought it would be special for Christmas but just feels tired and a general lunch menu only. Food was just ok- burger looked great, soups were delicious. Fish and chips a little soggy and panini was fine, nothing special, just a grilled sandwich.
I recommend The Grain House to anyone interested in a comfortable restaurant with a traditional menu. It's warm and comfortable and the food is quite good. Service was a bit slow with only one server in the area along with a couple support staff. We had lulls between ordering, drinks and courses. The main dining room could use a few updates that keep in line with the period décor. The bar looks a bit cozier but, even though I see people eating, we weren't offered seating there as an option. Unfortunately, I'm not inclined to drive 20 miles just to visit the bar.
Overall excellent service and the food was very good
The food and the service are very good and the Grain House always offers a consistent experience.....
Food is good but not great. Overall, a nice restaurant with old school charm
This place never disappoints. Food and service were amazing. Patrick made sure we were well taken care of. Table by the fire , great food and wine - you can’t beat it.
Everything was excellent!
good value! Low to moderate noise level made easy to talk.
Food and service were great, as always.
The bar room has such cozy ambiance and even though they were nicely crowded, our servers were very attentive.
Great food, friendly service and a welcoming vibe!
The food was good, the French onion soup and lamb were my favorites- we ate here twice and got take out once while we stayed at the Olde Mill inn for a 4 night stay.
The food was excellent and the ambiance was very nice.
We would certainly return any time we are in the area.
Excellent creative pub luncheon menu. Great service and atmosphere
Thanks so much!!!
Full house, everybody happy to be out and talking! Very festive
I mentioned that we had a hearing impaired person in our party and the restaurant was kind enough to give us a kind of private room off the bar area. It was a great experience and we were very grateful.
Thank you, Ellen. We do try very hard to accommodate requests. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I'm very glad that we were able to make it happen for you on this visit!! Hope to see you again.
I follow a whole food/plant based diet and, after looking for a good place near me this one food I could eat and enjoy. I had lentil soup and a veggie burger. Service was good and the ambience good for having a long meal and good conversation. Dessert was wonderful.
Thanks so much. Hope to see you again!
David was excellent. Food fantastic. Great atmosphere
