The Good Son Restaurant
Our Wood-Fire Pizzas are a cross between Roma and Neapolitan styles; cooked in a wood-burning M.A.M pizza oven imported from Italy. It yields a crust that is thin but sturdy. Wood-fire capabilities are critical for our menu as the flavour imparted on the food is exceptional and unique.
Our cocktails are equally thought out as our food. Our bartenders serve up a no-nonsense cocktail program featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients that are all made in house.

Couldn't finish dinner the food was so disappointing
We came there just for nice meal and we were blown away.. 2 of us got a cocktail to start then 3 of shared a bottle of wine the cocktail and wine both paired great with our whole meal.
As we were looking for lite meal not trying to break the bank with decided to order 3 shared plates for the 4 of us. So we choose the warm mushroom salad & spicy Brussels sprout and the shrimp.. all amazing. I’m not a big fan of any salad but that mushroom salad was delicious a bunch to the face a flavour. And the oh the crispy spicy Brussels sprouts my god they were good. Best I have ever had( sweet salty, spicy, crispy, soft) simply amazing.
Then for main 2 of got pizza. One was the Mauana loa, and the other caprisoscaa. I went to Italy 4 years ago and I have been trying to
Find pizza that compares to the quality I got there. I FINALLY FOUND IT. The crust was amazing and the just the flavours on the each pizza were great. The rest of the table got the wood grilled octopus ( so tender so flavourful and found to be surprisingly earthy) then last but not least without a doubt the best for last the shortrib dish with kimchi rice and sunny side up egg. (OMFG!!!!!) amazing umami. In my personal opinion probably in the top 5 mouthfuls of food I have ever had in my life.
Then for dessert we all shared the lemon curd. They roasted banana creme brûlée. Double chocolate chunk ice cream sandwich with peanut butter ice cream. All the dessert were pretty but was wishing for something as good as the first 2 courses. But good basic desserts..
The server we had was very helpful, funny and good attention to our table.. but I didn’t like how they reach over another person reach the person sitting next to them. Instead of walking around the table. (There was lots of room and time to do so) but other then that. Thank you so much to the team at Good Son for great evening of fun and amazing food.. We will definitely be back!!
Great variety in the delicious brunch dishes. Excellent, friendly service. Noise level was a little high at times.
Favourite restaurant in Toronto. Server forgot our salad, cocktails were surprisingly mediocre, usually they are fantastic. Overall still great time, best room in the city.
A lady never kisses and tells.
Had a truly amazing experience , the ambience was beautiful , the service was impeccable, the staff were accommodative and I couldn't have asked for a more memorable meal!
Crystal and her team are fantastic. My wife and I have been to The Good Son approximately 15 times for different special occasions and the staff (both front of house and back of house) never fail to impress us. Incredible cocktail menu, no variance in food quality and consistent, friendly service. Highly recommended.
Great place. We had a small group of 4ppl for a late dinner with resos. We were seated quickly. The ambiance was alive, many ppl (it was Friday night), but not overly crowded. It was loud but you could still carry on a conversation. Beautiful decor, high ceilings, clean bathrooms. Food was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Brunch on Sunday - eggs Benedict were delicious and the Tartare as well
One of the worst servers I’ve encountered.
It’s like he was on another planet. This guy messed up our order and compensated his poor service by displaying rude, unprofessional and passive aggressive behaviour.
I gave him a 10% tip which he didn’t deserve and he seemed quite annoyed.
What’s the service of Toronto coming to???
Very creative cuisine and a great service. Attentive staff and very delicious food
Fantastic food, friendly and attentive service, great atmosphere and good value.
Went for dinner with my family, 5 of us for the first time. Firstly, coolest room. Super warm, high ceilings and very spacious. They could practically double the number of tables but love that your now cramped in next to the table beside you. Our server was Bryce I think and he was just fab. All over it, throwing in recommendations, chatting but not tooo much. The floor manager (I only assume) came round regularly. Plates cleared promptly, drinks replenished etc. So I always get the classic arugula prosciutto pizza everywhere and this pizza let me tell you. To die for. Prosciutto, arugula, spicy chilli oil peppers, sundries tomato and the creamiest cheese. The rest of the table had the pappardelle, jerk shrimp, Brussels, sopressata pizza, warm mushroom salad, tartare and scallops. All fantastic couldn’t recommend enough. Will be back 100%.
I went for dinner with my boyfriend and in-laws on a Tuesday evening and everyone loved it! It was busy but had a great ambience and wasn’t too loud. The service was amazing - very attentive and helpful throughout the meal. Our favourite dishes were the Brussels Sprouts and the short rib, but everything we ordered was great. Will definitely come back on a Wednesday for $10 pizzas!
best egg benedict ive ever had, drinks were awesome too, if i lived in toronto i'd try to find a place close to this restaurant!
Excellent restaurant! Everything is great, specially the food and service! The place and its ambience is awesome
Love ! Always great food and service !
Loved everything about this place. Food was amazing, ambiance on point, great service too!
A heavenly foodie find. Scallops cooked to perfection, grilled octopus as well, and a surprise embellished birthday dessert of exquisite lemon curd topped with the freshest blackberries and blueberries, and a sprinkle of cookie crumb that gave the slightest wave to the heavy crust that lemon tarts usually have. Our waiter was attentive and personable. A delight around.
It was special 10$ pizza evening ! Great deal for fabulous food :-)
Wonderful service and excellent food! Reasonably priced. The oysters were amazing
Slow and mediocre service. Ok food. Extremely loud
Great atmosphere, food was beyond what I had expected, the staff - from greeting to good night, all was as if you were being taken care of by good friends.
Wonderful dinner! Amazing cocktails. The burger and pizza we had were both perfectly done. Their steak tartare is a must. Service is very warm and friendly.
I loved the decor and the vibe at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and accomodating and the food was excellent. I also liked the bottle of wine we got - it was half price night so the price was great and it was not your "cookie cutter" wine. We will be back on our next visit to Toronto!
I wish the server told us about the drink specials. Especially the 1/2 price wine on Sundays.
Every time I’m in Toronto I make a point of going there for brunch. You have to try the Crispy Pork Cheek Benny - it is to die for! Their thin crust pizzas are excellent their desserts are out of this world! Book your reservation today and you won’t be disappointed!
Great service. Food was good. Timing of dishes was strange. Great ambiance!
Lovely ambiance. Beautifully layered flavours. Thoroughly enjoyable
Food was delicious and service was perfect. Thank you!
Food was absolutely spectacular and service was lovely, friendly and professional. Amazing dinner.
It was our second time at the restaurant. The first was a pre-arranged group dinner for 10+ and this time was just for two. Both were great experiences. It's a very cozy and stylish ambiance. Interesting cocktails and a good mix of items on the menu. Service was personal and knowledgable. We would be happy to return
I really enjoyed the whole experience. It threw me off at first, but we didn’t have just one server. Every server was there to make our experience great. The staff was super attentive. I read blog posts, and found so many photos of tasty food on instagram from the Good Son that I had to give it a try. It was the first place we ate during our weekend in Toronto, and we both agreed it was our favorite meal. Get the Octopus!!
Loved the food and the service. The music was so loud that it was hard to hear each other at our table, but I would definitely go back.
4 of us had dinner on a Sunday evening at The Good Son. We shared the Jerk Shrimp, Brussels Sprouts, the Cappicciola Pizza and the DOP Margherita Pizza. All dishes were excellent and we were impressed the the quality of the pizzas. I would definitely return. The decor is casual and eclectic. It was not noisy when we were there but it was a Sunday evening.
Briefly, the service was very friendly and attentive. Food and drink were good, not great. All was prepared and presented quite competently, but there was no wow in any dish. We shared the pear and arugala salad (what one would expect), the sauted mushrooms (also quite tasty) and the brussels spouts (a most enthusiastic thumbs up from all parties sharing this dish, but best on fisrt bite and cloying by the last). I had the octopus, which was pretty tender and quite edible, but no great shakes in the flavour department. My companions had the market fish (Sea Bream fillet -- she found it a bit dry; my bite was pretty good) and the cheeseburger (reportedly good).
Drinks: I had the mescalvados - it was watery and short on flavour. They have a Cocchi Reserve vermouth that's delish, but such a small bit served.
All in all, good food with fair portions, and the service was very good. But I'm not going back anytime soon with all the other options available in this town. Sorry Good Son, you're just not The Great Son.
Best place to eat in town! Thank you for the amazing service And food.
Love this place. One of my favourites in the neighbourhood
Very creative menu was only outdone by the outstanding service. A little on the pricey side but like anything, you get what you pay for.
Great restaurant and great vibe. Some friends and I went to celebrate a birthday. I called and asked for a great table in advance which suited our needs. I also called to inform that we were celebrating a birthday and would be great if they could send something to the table. I purposely did this so a surprise would come to the table without the hassle of seeking out our server and arranging it. Everything I tried to avoid was not avoidable. In addition the dessert we ordered wasn’t given as a courtesy for my
Friends bday. Didn’t think that was kind especially since we ordered many dishes and drinks. I would definitely visit this restaurant again but they should consider special occasions and how to deal
With them in an alternative manner
