The Good Son Restaurant
Our Wood-Fire Pizzas are a cross between Roma and Neapolitan styles; cooked in a wood-burning M.A.M pizza oven imported from Italy. It yields a crust that is thin but sturdy. Wood-fire capabilities are critical for our menu as the flavour imparted on the food is exceptional and unique.
Our cocktails are equally thought out as our food. Our bartenders serve up a no-nonsense cocktail program featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients that are all made in house.

It was our second time at the restaurant. The first was a pre-arranged group dinner for 10+ and this time was just for two. Both were great experiences. It's a very cozy and stylish ambiance. Interesting cocktails and a good mix of items on the menu. Service was personal and knowledgable. We would be happy to return
I really enjoyed the whole experience. It threw me off at first, but we didn’t have just one server. Every server was there to make our experience great. The staff was super attentive. I read blog posts, and found so many photos of tasty food on instagram from the Good Son that I had to give it a try. It was the first place we ate during our weekend in Toronto, and we both agreed it was our favorite meal. Get the Octopus!!
Loved the food and the service. The music was so loud that it was hard to hear each other at our table, but I would definitely go back.
4 of us had dinner on a Sunday evening at The Good Son. We shared the Jerk Shrimp, Brussels Sprouts, the Cappicciola Pizza and the DOP Margherita Pizza. All dishes were excellent and we were impressed the the quality of the pizzas. I would definitely return. The decor is casual and eclectic. It was not noisy when we were there but it was a Sunday evening.
Briefly, the service was very friendly and attentive. Food and drink were good, not great. All was prepared and presented quite competently, but there was no wow in any dish. We shared the pear and arugala salad (what one would expect), the sauted mushrooms (also quite tasty) and the brussels spouts (a most enthusiastic thumbs up from all parties sharing this dish, but best on fisrt bite and cloying by the last). I had the octopus, which was pretty tender and quite edible, but no great shakes in the flavour department. My companions had the market fish (Sea Bream fillet -- she found it a bit dry; my bite was pretty good) and the cheeseburger (reportedly good).
Drinks: I had the mescalvados - it was watery and short on flavour. They have a Cocchi Reserve vermouth that's delish, but such a small bit served.
All in all, good food with fair portions, and the service was very good. But I'm not going back anytime soon with all the other options available in this town. Sorry Good Son, you're just not The Great Son.
Best place to eat in town! Thank you for the amazing service And food.
Very creative menu was only outdone by the outstanding service. A little on the pricey side but like anything, you get what you pay for.
Great restaurant and great vibe. Some friends and I went to celebrate a birthday. I called and asked for a great table in advance which suited our needs. I also called to inform that we were celebrating a birthday and would be great if they could send something to the table. I purposely did this so a surprise would come to the table without the hassle of seeking out our server and arranging it. Everything I tried to avoid was not avoidable. In addition the dessert we ordered wasn’t given as a courtesy for my
Friends bday. Didn’t think that was kind especially since we ordered many dishes and drinks. I would definitely visit this restaurant again but they should consider special occasions and how to deal
With them in an alternative manner
Lovely restaurant food and service . So nice and very different look.
Best French fries I’ve ever had.
Always great service and amazing food. Servers are very knowledgeable about menu and wine recommendations
Only comment, is that we were a party of 5 and we were crammed a bit at our table. There were other tables available that would have been more comfortable, for example, a six-seater booth was given to a couple with a child. As a hostess, I would have made the switch. Otherwise, great food and experience!
Great pizza deal on Wednesday nights.
What a wonderful evening. A group of four, we gathered together to celebrate a birthday. Our server Tyler was professional yet charming, knowledgeable and helpful. The food was delicious. One person claimed to not have much of an appetite yet had no problem devouring his steak frites. We were all pleased with our exceptional meals. The atmosphere of the restaurant was comfortable and cozy. We were seated close to the open window so we had the coolness of the restaurant while still enjoying a patio feel. I will definite return and I highly recommend this wonderful neighbourhood gem.
The food and service were great. I would definitely go back!
Great atmosphere and brunch, excellent service.
Really nice place just a bit overpriced. Great place for a date.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and ambient. The music was too loud for my liking but I am older and this may account for my preference. The food we had was very good (pizza) but I came in hoping to order a traditional pasta dish. The menu only included one pasta item.
The service was excellent!
We made reservations (which is a must), drove an hour for their delicious pizzas!! Our experience was amazing!!
I liked the ambiance but it was incredibly loud even during dinner time. I had to stuff tissues in my ears to be able to enjoy my meal. I couldn't talk to my friends because it was too loud.

Our waiter, Alex, was attentive, friendly and recommended a great, reasonably priced bottle of wine.
The food was delicious, best brussel sprouts we’ve ever had. Steak frites was very well done too, but overpriced at $43 for a flank steak.
Fun restaurant, will definitely go back again.
AC was broken and it was hotter inside than it was outside. Unfortunate day for this to happen, but the restaurant should have warned patrons
Friendly service, great vibe and decor. Will definitely return.
The food was good and the ambience was great. There were a couple of reminders throughout our dinner to bring more napkins or to fill our drinks. Our server wasn’t the most personable but that was okay. He brought our food promptly and checked up to see if we had all the food we ordered. It would have been nice if they did something for our birthday guest. One of the cons we do have though was that the air-con was not working which made our dining experience extremely uncomfortable. The hostess or management should have called to let their customers know beforehand. Despite minor bumps, I would come back !
Love this Queen West restaurant. Always make a point to dine here if we're hitting up a show in the area. Highly recommend their wood-fire pizza and their bulgogi short ribs.
Gorgeous restaurant with really delicious food. The noise level is a little loud but the food is worth it!
Brussels sprouts were excellent. Our server was great. Nice spot. I didn’t think the pizzas were as fabulous as the other reviewers did but everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. We were visiting from Californai for the Rotary International convention. It was a nice evening g
Everything about my meal at The Good Son was excellent. The service was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. My wine glass never got below being a 1/4 full before someone was refilling it from my bottle. We had olives and brussels sprouts to start and shared the capricciosa pizza and bucatini pasta as our main. Everything was delicious and the pizza is my new favorite in the city.
Amazing food! And great service! Waitress was very attentive to table.
Breakfast pizza is the best!! Love the food and drinks here. The service both this time as well as my last visit was good but pretty slow.
First time at The Good Son, had fish of the day and it was excellent. Wait staff was very accommodating. Unfortunately though, the place is extremely LOUD so don't expect an intimate environment....only a fun one ! Will go back !
I and my husband loved the good son restaurant so much. We went there for Saturday dinner and the restaurant made us so happy. They have such delicious foods and desserts, excellent services and great atmosphere. It was sooo worth to take our time to visit and our money to pay. Also, it was a great place for a date or special occasions DEFINITELY. (It was a perfect place this restaurant and we woul to take beautiful pictures as well). I would definitely recommend surely visit this place again
The food was amazing. The atmosphere beautiful. And the service impeccable.
Great food and service...will definitely be back!
I'm not usually so generous with the stars, but really, my friend and I, who had chosen this restaurant for it's nearness to our theatre destination, were so pleasantly surprised by the place. The ambiance appealed to us the moment we walked through the door. It was both lively and warm; loved the distressed leather chairs. Not too noisy to carry on a conversation. Between the two of us my friend and I enjoyed some nice wine , oysters, one extraordinary pizza, delicious spicy brussel sprouts, and a perfectly done piece of fish served with a generous portion of asparagus and smashed fingerling potatoes. Our server was a delightful woman named Nicole (apparently the place is crawling with Nicoles) who was super-nice and very knowledgeable. Will definitely return when I'm in the area.
Very loud... but probably the best pizza in the city!!!!
It was a nice relaxing experience. Service was top shelf. Bartenders mix some up some nice cocktails. Thanks!
