The Good Fork is a traditional American cuisine restaurant and bar. The lunch menu features items such as the pork belly lettuce wrap, fried calamari and shrimp or burrata. Other popular lunch specials include pumpkin ravioli, duck confit and Mary's natural chicken. The dinner menu offers entrées that include lamb shank, Angus filet and pork loin. The Good Fork has a full bar and offers bar appetizers for those that do not want an entire meal. You can snack on edamame, Oysters by the half dozen or BBQ shrimp toast. There are also house-made chips, meatballs and shrimp truffle mac and cheese.
The Good Fork offers many beers, after-dinner drinks and cocktails. It also has several coffee drinks like a cappuccino, caffe latte and espresso.
Th restaurant is nice setting and plenty of tables to look outside. The service very slow but I think on Saturday for lunch they were understaffed. There were not too many people there at noon. Our waitress was nice but everything took a while to get to our table even water or drinks. I would try it again.
My husband requested the Good Fork for his birthday dinner as we had been there for my birthday dinner last year and enjoyed it very much. This time seemed even better, the food was especially delicious. I ordered the filet medium rare, it came medium rare! Husband ordered the salmon and decided it was the best salmon dish ever! The salad was very fresh with just the right amount of dressing, not overwhelming the greens. We asked for more bread, even though we don't usually, as it was also very tasty. The only disappointment was the creme brûlée for dessert. It was a little too soft for my taste, I prefer it to be a bit more firm. We will certainly eat here again!
We dine at The Good Fork often. This visit was better than ever. Very pleasant and efficient
service and fine food. We agreed that this visit was perhaps our best visit and we agreed that we would return soon. The Good Fork is a special place.
We were a group of 4 on a Saturday night. The Restuarant had a full compliment of guests and a full complimennt of efficient serving staff to manage the crowd. We Enjoyed a delicious coctails from the speciality Cocktail list .. made w/Bulliet Boubon ... excellent choice. We chose from the Fish specials for the evening and while my choice of the Salmon was delicious my spouse choice of the Petrale Sole was outstanding .. he was kind enough to share with me. If you are a mussels fan the mussels were also delicious. We were seated at a window seat which I loved ... unfortunately the street noise can be a little loud but it's great seat and now that they have added the awning .. The windows and blinds can remain open. Give the Good Fork a Try!!!
We at here on a Saturday night. We're in the process of moving to Morgan Hill and weren't really sure what we would find in terms of restaurants here. We were very pleased with the choice. Food and service was excellent. We started with calamari that was exceptionally prepared and was accompanied by a jalapeno vinaigrette. Salads were a mixed green salad for my wife and a beet and goat cheese for me. The greens were good but the beet salad was exceptional, would highly recommend. Entrees were a pork chop for me and a eggplant parmigiana for the wife. The pork chop was very good, but the eggplant was outstanding - has to be one of the best, if not the best, eggplant dishes I've ever tasted. Never seen it done the way it was here - more like a lasagna. Another dish that I would highly recommend.
We brought friends here for dinner and they were duly impressed! This gem of an eatery offers fine food and superb service by Shelly...We have run out of words to describe this fantastic and always satisfying restaurant. Long live The Good Fork!
The food was great. Perfect sized portions. They may have been short staffed because the service wasn't wasn't nearly as good as I have normally experienced when dining there.
The food was wonderful ...surpassed only by the service. Great option right here in downtown Morgan Hill !!!
Nice pour of a terrific glass of wine!
My daughter and I met my husband at the Cal Train station and headed to The Good Fork for dinner to celebrate the end of the week. We all tried something different (Mary's Chicken, the Halibut and the Pork Chop) and it was fantastic. The wine and dessert martini's were way too good, as was the tiramasu. Jose our server was awesome, and so polite:) What a gem!
Great food! The options were fantastic and everything was fresh. The service was really good too. We will definitely be back!
Overall, excellent food and service. One of us had the burger and one the salmon entrée. Both great, although as someone trying to eat for diabetes control I would have liked a larger portion of vegetables with the entree. Next time I will ask for extra veggies.
The server noticed me opening a birthday gift and brought a complimentary dessert with candle, which was very observant and thoughtful. The bread pudding was to die for!
Restaurant wasn't air conditioned when heat advisory was in effect; didn't enjoy sweating through dinner. Pork Belly lettuce wraps not very flavorful. Duck was ok but lacked spice or flavor. Skirt steak was good. Sauv Blanc wine was poor. Won't go back.
We made reservations for early dinner at 5:30. We were greeted at the door and had a choice of tables. We sat inside by the windows which in summer are open to the dining area on the sidewalk outside. By 6:30 the restaurant was mostly full except for tables in the back . So come early to get a good seat near the front of the restaurant or sidewalk. The beet salad was delicious. The special of the night was sturgeon and it was wonderful. Chocolate torte cake for dessert is highly recommended if you are a chocolate lover (who isn't).
We jabbed dined here on several occasions but this lady time we brought our teenagers with us. They loved it!
It was a good finding restaurant in Morgan Hill. We are planning to go back, food and service was great! Don't miss the happy hour, drinks and appetizers are half-off.
Hadn't been in awhile; dinner was great--eggplant parmesan, filet, grilled artichoke, and burrata! Wonderful. We had cocktails at the bar before dinner with the request that they hold a specific table for us, AND THEY DID!
This was our second visit to The Good Fork and it certainly will not be our last. We drive down from San Jose for the experience, and it does not disappoint. The decor is wonderful. We didn't visit the bar, but I have read reviews that say the bar scene is one of the restaurant's best features. Next time we will check it out. We were seated by the open window at the front of the restaurant, and due to the traffic noise (particularly motorcycles) that location was a bit noisier than other seating might be, but in a way that was some of the fun of the place. Also, sitting by the window in the late afternoon presented a sun problem. The restaurant has pull-down sun screens, but we did not become aware of them until we had been there -- squinting -- for awhile. We were there on a Saturday and the restaurant was quite noisy, but no more so that other restaurants I have frequented, and I did not consider the noise to be a turn-off. It is not, however, a place you want to go for a quiet romantic dinner. The owners generously--and I do mean generously--waive their corkage fee for wine you bring in that is from a local winery (Napa is not considered local, by the way). That courtesy alone would bring me back again and again. It is not clear to me if the no-corkage fee is a standing policy or just something they are doing for the time being to promote local wines, and so you should check before counting on it. But I really REALLY appreciated that. The service was a little slow and not as attentive has I have enjoyed elsewhere, but it wasn't bad. We didn't have that experience the first time we dined there, and so I am suspecting that this time it just might have been unusually and unexpectedly busy. Bottom line: Try The Good Fork. You won't be disappointed. Promise!
We have had many a good meal at the Good Fork. Love the open front onto Monterey Street
But, last meal was disappointing. We looked at the menu before booking our reservation and saw they had muscles. Booked a reservation because we love muscles. Got to the restaurant -- Out of muscles.
This happens -- But, it was not that late in the evening. Changed to the hamberger because of the carmalized onions advertised in the menu. Hamberger arrived -- no carmalized onions.
Kitchens have a bad day --- maybe this was one of those
The service was great, and the selection was varied. Everything we had was great, I'm sure we will be back.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – Unfortunately service was not that great drinks and salads were forgotten
Our dinner was highlighted by sitting by an open window on a warm night. We had very nice service, just the right amount of time between courses, not rushed but not forgotten. We shared the muscles, which were good, not the best we've ever had but nice. We shared a beet salad - nothing exciting but adequate (could have used more goat cheese). My pork loin was not super tender but delicious flavor and very enjoyable with the gnocchi - and twice the portion I could eat. The special halibut was simple but my husband enjoyed it. They accommodated changing vegetables by omitting ones we did not care for, so we appreciated that. Overall for a fairly close restaurant with a decent menu we were pleased and would go ahead. The food was enjoyable and the selection good. I wouldn't call it 5 star food and preparation, but a solid 4 on our visit.
Fabulous food. The restaurant is small enough to be comfortable but not crowded or rushed. The staff treats us like family. It's my favorite place.
The food was only okay. Not at the level I expected for a nice night out. I ordered the duck confit and the duck that I make at home is much better. The level of service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress prioritized chatting with her friends over actually providing service. There was one point when we asked her to be called over and she came, looked straight at us, then went to talk to another waiter for a few minutes before returning to help us. At another point, when we waiting for the check, she stood chatting with the other waiters for several minutes before finally bringing it over.
The food really wasn't impressive, especially for the price.
We had great food and great service. We even sat and talked at our table long after we ate with no pressure.
The Good Fork honored my request for a window table - which I appreciated. (They have huge picture windows that open to Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. You get the feeling of sitting outdoors while indoors.) The service and the food were excellent. I had the pork loin (SOOO good) and others shared the seafood special. We'll be back!
I took my son here and we had a delicious dinner. The bread pudding we ordered on the recommendation of the waitress, and it was to die for. I don't even like bread pudding! The service was very good, too.
We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation. Nothing of 14 plates were cooked as ordered. Medium means blood rare, chicken is served pink fish was overcooked. I thought they were playing a practical joke with the service and the food preparation. We sent them back and got them sent back cold with nothing done to it. Will definitely not eat here again!!!!
I ordered the salmon entree and it was delicious. The reason why I didn't give 5 stars was because my mashed potatoes were a little cold, however still tasted good. My husband ordered lamb shank with risotto and it was fantastic. No complains about the service. Everyone was super friendly, they even closed the windows because I was getting cold.
Have been very pleased with The Good Fork. And everyone we take as guests gush over the food, service and atmosphere. Reservations are becoming necessary as we noticed on our last visit. Some people were disappointed not to be able to get in for a meal. Nice selections on the menu with swell specials and the adult beverages are very good. Can't help but tell the world about this place. It's A-1!
Bar a bit slow. Water poured and topped off w/o request. Very good menu, food very well prepared and presented. Flavor just lacked the "wow factor." Having said that, I would try again.
Reservation was honored right at the time preset. Waitress was excellent and knowledgeble of every menu item in luding wine list.
It is so great to have such a great dining experience without the usual 45 minute drive to San Jose or Monterey. The food is simple but beautifully prepared. The flavor are fresh and unique without being fussy or pretentious. Can't wait to go back again soon.
Pork loin tasted super-moist and flavorful. Also the veggies were tasty. Nice wine list and friendly servers.
This a great restaurant with excellent food and service. We highly recommend it.
We felt we'd visited a friend for dinner. I had the best Cappllini Pomodoro I have had in years and my husband enjoyed the special which was sole. Both dishes were wonderfully prepared. Our server was warm and accommodating. We felt instantly at home even though it was our first time. We particularly loved talking to Fabritzio, the restaurant's very own Italian transplant. A delightful young man. We will certainly return.
Food is outstanding and atmosphere is cozy. Would highly recommend to anybody that wants a nice meal with good service. Menu is a bit expensive and dinner is not for kids.
Celebrated our 15th anniversay. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive. Pork belly wraps was our favorite. Everything else was good. My wife had the duck confit and I had the lamb shank which was very tender. They brought us a cannoli for dessert which was very tasty. Definitely would recommend and come back again.
The waiting staff here is extremely friendly and helpful, always making on point selections in part because the menu is so amazing! The oxtail linguine and squid appetizer are highly recommended!
