This was our first time to The Golden Lamb. We went early to have a drink at the bar inside called The Black Horse. Our bartender was fabulous and very attentive. Afterwards we ate dinner facing the street in the restaurant. The view, service, atmosphere and food was wonderful. We highly recommend the cheese curds for the appetizer and the signature salad. We would definitely return with friends or again on a date night!
Our waitress, Stacey, was fabulous. We were late in arriving due to the train, causing her to have to stay later. She was great at recommending wines, food, and she even offered to take a group picture for us. Could not have a better waitress anywhere. The front desk staff was not as nice or friendly, there several empty tables when we arrived and we checked in immediately, but were left sitting in the lobby for at least 15 minutes without any explanation as to the delay. When we went up a second time we were told that they did not want to put two tables together and that they were waiting for the party before us to leave. This was unacceptable, especially since there were several adjacent 4 tops that could have been pushed together. The food and Stacey made up for the front desk service.
Classic. Great NY Strip and Filet. Cooked to perfection.
Great experience. I had been there before and had the same waitress. Enjoyed the experience as did my date. It was a first date and likely will lead to a second. :)
The only issue I had with my experience was the parking. Not much can be done about it given the age of the location. This is just a "heads up" review for people who are looking to dine here. Other than that, great dinning and wonderful old building.
And service we’ve had yet !! Excellent We will be back for more
Went for a friend's Birthday after a train ride. The last reservation was for 8:45 p.m. I thought that was odd for a Friday night. The food was very good, kind of pricey though for what we had ( fish dinner). The waiter was really nice and attentive. The atmosphere is really cool. Old antique kind of setting. Romantic!
My husband and I recently stayed at the Golden Lamb for a weekend get-away. We loved the historic background and the cozy atmosphere. We met some nice fellow-travelers at the bar and enjoyed the singer. Our dinner, a late Valentine dinner, was wonderful. One might think that such a place would have mediocre comfort food, but far from it. Gourmet all the way. I really loved the berry french toast. Would highly recommend a visit.
Great food, good prices, good atmosphere, and awesome service. Will definitely go back and do the tour when I have more time.
Food was delicious. Server was very attentive without being intrusive.
A great place for a romantic or special occasion, such as an anniversary or a special holiday.
We always enjoy our meals at the Golden Lamb -- special meals for special occassions!
Golden Lamb was wonderful...the perfect spot for my marriage proposal. She said “yes”! They took very good care of us on Valentines Day.
We really enjoy the atmosphere. The specials for Valentine’s Day were Amazing, as was the service.
Bartender in the Tavern was very friendly as well as the patrons. Started off with the relish platter which was very good and a few drinks. Our reservations were for 5 so we moved over to the dinner section. Very old style grandma’s house type of decorations. Very plain nothing too gaudy. All tables no booths but not too bad. Felt like my waitress was a little distracted when waiting on us because there was no bread or lemon for our waters. We had to ask after the fact as the table next to us had it. We ordered the sauerkraut balls as an appetizer and the bisque to start with. I never had them with cocktail sauce but it seemed to work. Also came with a spicy mustard but wasn’t a fan. Think they put a little too much horseradish in it. Didn’t even know that was a thing but you learn something new every day. The balls themselves were pretty tasty and so was the soup. Our main entree came and was wondering why I didn’t get a salad but it was separate. Always try to up-sale this because in most places it’s included. This place it was an additional charge. The prime rib was good but very expensive. $37 the reduction sauce was extremely tasty and made a great topping for the mash potatoes as well. The carrots were ok, a little on the dry side but not inedible. The lamb was good crusted with peppercorn, that was the special for the day, part of the three course meal. All ended with a triple layer chocolate cake. Not bad but for the gourmet pricing I guess I expected more. I’m glad I tried this place as it was somewhere we wanted to try for a while but I think that the Spillway Lodge was a much better place and value for dollar.
What a wonderful birthday meal for my 93-year-old mother. The food was delicious. The service was incredible.
Service while satisfactory from Ryan was very slow.
Wonderful Historic restaurant treasure! Food is excellent! Service outstanding! Staff is friendly! Coming back for Valentine's day dinner!
Our group was a gathering of old friends traveling to Lebanon from a radius of 40-50 miles. The Golden Lamb never disappoints! The menu includes a good variety of offerings. The wait staff is quite professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. We especially appreciate being able to linger and visit without being rushed to relinquish our table. The dining room is comfortable, , allows for good conversation, and is quite charming. We will return to the Golden Lamb for our next gathering!
We had a wonderful meal with great service and special birthday celebration. It was our 10-year old granddaughter's first trip and she loved it too!
The menu fit on one page which made it easy for me since I am an indecisive when there are too many choices. Overall, there was a classic mix of chicken, beef, and lamb dishes... There was a nice selection of appetizers(try their sauerkraut balls). There were a couple of hamburger options that looked tempting as well...
The atmosphere was nice in an old historic building. It was nice that we were able to explore the building after dinner. The building had plenty of historic paintings and artifacts. There was plenty of room for private rooms for banquet purposes. I am sure that I'll be back for another special occasion.
Charming place with great food. The side salad that came with the dinner was fabulous.
We had a very good experience. Food and atmosphere was good and service was fantastic.
Friendly, attentive service, variety of options on the dinner menu, delicious meals - people in our party were very pleased with the prime rib, fried chicken and salmon options. Highly recommend!
Great service and just a neat little place! The food was fantastic!
Another great meal. Signature salad and the tomato bisque are just delightful. My wife and her sister shared a filet which was nice of the restaurant to do that. Salmon was excellent also. Service was very good also.
Way overpriced...An average turkey dinner with what looked like processed turkey should have been no more than 16.95. Won't be back there..
Terrific. First time at Golden Lamb for dinner and we were blown away. Fried chicken and lamb shank were wonderful, and my filet was the best I’ve had in weeks, and I was just at one of Cincinnati’s premier steakhouses. It was incredibly tender, had great flavor, and was sauced perfectly. Mary was our server and she was wonderful with our table and the youngest diner in our group. Truly an excellent experience.
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend the hickory smoked chicken wings appetizer!
