The Glitretind Restaurant at Stein Eriksen Lodge Ratings and Reviews
I thought this place was going to be the five star rating that I read about, but unfortunately, it wasn't. The food isn't great- not a lot of flavor. My "medium" steak was beyond rare, the soup lacked flavor and was relatively bland, and the salad was not good.
The dessert was fantastic.
Be prepared for your views to be of construction equipment at this time. They are re-doing the deck and the materials are everywhere.
Outstanding from start to finish. Incredible wine list. Beautifully presented meal and sommelier smoothe as silk. Butter tender filet. Delicious cheese course. Thyme ice cream with blackberry sorbetto and cracked pepper cookie was sublime. That said, rabbit was salty. However, due to a real WOW dinner otherwise, completely forgiven. My new favorite restaurant.
The Deer Valley - Park City area has an abundance of excellent, high quality restaurants. This is one of the tops. We went in late September which is the off season for this area. As such the dining room was very quiet which is not what to expect especially during the ski season. The food and service were excellent. The menu was a bit limited when we went. Having said that the dessert what out of this world.
One of the advantages of off season is that many of the restaurants offer two entrees for the price of one. We took advantage of that offer.
Prices are not for the faint of heart at this incredibly wonderful setting, But then it is the old gold standard location in Deer Valley/Park City. We were surprised by the limited menu. My food was good but nothing unique. Others in our party of 6 had good food and some not so much. The highly recommended strip steak came out over done and had to be sent back to start over while the rest of us ate our dinners. The chicken was also over cooked resulting is a very dry offering. The wine list is extensive and with at least a 100% mark up on the more moderate bottles. We were enticed to this restaurant by the two for one entrée offer. So the $46 entrées were essentially $25 or so per person. Appetizers were expensive and nothing all that creative.
We came for a dinner for 4 on Labor Day night. We have eaten here 15-20 times and each time is gets a little worse. Limited, but very expensive menu, and the quality wasn't up to their standards. Maybe the regular cooks were taking Labor Day off. The food quality just isn't worth the price
This was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The servers were excellent, the menu was adventurous but not overwhelming, and the atmosphere is stunning. I couldn't afford to eat there regularly, but for a big special occasion, it was a home run!
Stein Erickson's restaurant never disappoints. The service is over the top! Food is amazing! Everyone's meal was prepared to perfection. Rabbit Succotash was beautifully presented and delicious. Snapper was wonderful. Salmon was a hit with two in our party. Thank you Glitretend! Special shout out to Dillin, one of our servers.
The food is fabulous, the setting is splendid, and the service is excellent. It's always a special treat to walk through the lobby of the Stein Eriksen lodge. The Glitretind Restaurant represents the excellence of the entire lodge and I would highly recommend it. After having spent a week in Deer Valley and trying many of the local restaurants, I would say that my best and most memorable experience was at the Glitretind. My friends and I enjoyed the evening there thoroughly. We were celebrating my birthday and it was a good choice.
Glitretind at Stein EriksenLodge is our favorite Park City restaurant. We have never disappointed with the food, wine,or service. The sommelier, Ashley is outstanding, she is great at offering advice and paring food and wine. Be sure and save room for dessert, all are excellent.
Wonderful evening. There are many great restaurants in Park City but the Glitretind offers 5 star service. Dinner was perfect. Special soup and tomato consume were fresh and well seasoned. We had the fillet of beef which was served with a lighter twist on potatoes au gratin-- we think par boiled, sliced, broiled, and drizzled with a gratin cream/cheese sauce. The special was a tenderloin of bison. Again, it was perfectly cooked but as with most top restaurants the accompaniments made the dish- grilled mini vegetables, fresh horseradish whipped potatoes, and purée of peas/green beans.
We had a spectacular 2006 Phelps Insignia. Have to caution that there aren't many "value wines" on the list but the depth is impressive.
It was our anniversary and we mentioned it to a server. Too satiated for desert but a pretty plate with a happy anniversary wish painted in chocolate and some of their house made chocolates were very welcome.
Glorious evening inside the dining room but just inside the open patio doors for a slight breeze and fantastic mountain view. Food was outstanding - we enjoyed the crab/corn chowder and Farmer Jones' salad to start followed by the King Salmon and Wasatch NY steak. Dessert was the homemade sorbet (coconut and key lime were tops). Yes, it is pricey but we had very good service, not just from our own waiter but all of the staff.
Only a short drive up the mountain from downtown Park City and you feel a world away. Peaceful stroll through the lodge and grounds to the dining room. Just lovely and an annual dining tradition for our week in the area.
Absolutely delicious as usual. My wife and I eat here as often as we can. The setting and service is always perfect. They think of everything, and spare no expense on quality ingredients. The rabbit succotash and carbonara salad were some of my favorite dishes I have had here. Kudos to the Chef, and the entire culinary team. I work as a professional Chef, and know the work that goes into what you do. Thank you, keep it up.
My husband and I went there for our anniversary. It was overall a very good experience with 2 house made chocolate treats & 2 peanut butter chocolate treats as well as a great service! I loved the white tablecloth. The food was delicious except for the tomato consommé. It tasted like water and I felt ripped off for $13! I wish I had taken a different appetizer.
The hawaiian snapper was excellent. The pork chop and strip steak were ok. It was a good evening as we had a 2 for 1 coupon so bill was about $90 less for four than it would have been. Steak eater thought Ruth's Chris had a better steak. One nearby table had three small children-don't know why you would take them there. Should put them in the bar.
Unfortunately there was a large party seated just after us. The wait staff then totally ignored our table. They forgot to bring us wine with our meal and when we canceled the wine as it was too late. The wait person said that was a good thing as they were out of that wine. We requested the duck medium rare and got well done. I complained to the gentleman identified as the manager and to his credit he apologized. He gave us the dinner without charge. Also the appetizers were both great as was my dinner, veal. So a very mixed review. The setting was marvelous and had it not been for the wait staff, I believe it would have been fantastic.
To start, the service was very good, the views are beautiful and the restaurant itself is very nice. Now, the food is not that great and a bit pricey, there are many other restaurants in Park City that beat this one hands down. I had the Muscovy Duck and it was so over spiced that all you could taste was spice. It did come with 2 egg roll items that were delicious, as was the fried greens. My husbands lamb chops were also lacking.
When our bill arrived, we were charged $1 each for the blue cheese olives in the martinis; what is that? We dine in high end restaurants on a regular bases and have never been charged for our blue cheese olives; at the price for the martini, they should have been included. When we received our bill, my husband noticed that a $22 glass of wine had been left off the bill, and quickly pointed it out to the server, who seemed less than appreciative. Our bill before tip, for two people was over $150.00 and yet we were charged for the olives. I'm not being petty, but it seems that such an upscale establishment just comes across as cheezy when it charges for the olives in your drink.
Amazing service, rather crowded tables, delicious perfectly cooked roast and lamb dishes, but the vegetarian dish was extremely disappointing. Flavorless lentils, dried tough mushrooms, bland under cooked squash,. somebody needs to look at all the fabulous vegetarian recipes out there: Crossroads in Los Angeles! There's no excuse for bad vegetarian. Desserts were Devine .
