Wine is very high end - but just ask the waiter for the sommelier - she was extremely helpful. She asked what kind of wine we were looking for and our budget and we went with her excellent recommendation.
Funny story: I first ordered a bottle of X ( about $100) then was told that was for a glass😂. We all laugh at that every time it comes up. That’s when the sommelier stepped in and saved the day. Never once making anyone feel anything other than valued and trying to help

Delicious food but really just a sampling.. teeny tiny portions with large price tag. We could have easily shared a Stein Burger after and we’re not huge eaters. We’ll go straight to Troll Hallen next time.
Spectacular dinner! New winter menu is fantastic; portions--including dessert--are decent. Other highly rated restaurants on Main Street could learn a thing or two from The Giltretind. Seasonally fresh menu options, attentive service, we will definitely go back again and again. Pricey but worth it.

Literally love this place so, so much! The food is absolutely amazing and it's reasonably priced for what you get. The service is also outstanding, the view isn't bad, either!
Anniversary Dinner - What a terrific setting. You are towards the top of the mountain. It is snowing outside and the dining area has two fireplaces going. Excellent waiters and innovative food. A new item on this menu was a Wagyu Striploin cooked and seasoned to perfection. If they have the Honey Bomb on the desserts menu it is worth the plunge.

Really mediocre food for a high-end restaurant like this. We had looked forward to it but were very disappointed.

Service was great. My husband’s meal of loin was really on point. My meal - the salmon, was over cooked and a bit greasy. Rice was underdone and seriously, any quick cooking rice is generally pretty cheap rice so maybe when it’s off season, pick some other carb that can be heated up. The rice was cold along with the vegetables but the salmon was hot. The salad was meager. Nice plating but come on, why cheap out on the quantity? And the Drunken Goat cheese plate was uninspired and the jam super vinegary. The room was cold. Turn on the fire places for better ambience!

I took an out of town guest for dinner. It is a beautiful setting and we had an excellent meal, along with impeccable service. While there are less expensive options in town, you can never go wrong, and will never be disappointed, in Stein's.

Great food! Farmer Green’s salad, who carpaccio, duck, scallops and creme brûlée were all excellent! Mountain Razz cocktail was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had.
Bret was great and we enjoyed our meal very much! Looking forward to trying the Sunday brunch soon.

Service pleasant , spotty at times . Annoyed by $ 3 charge for splitting a salad , is this necessary to meet their business plan?. Would understand for an entree. Seems petty , and at least should be mentioned.

The 2 restaurants in one was a bit confusing. But the service was nice and brought us both menus. It was a bit chilly on the patio, not sure the heaters were working correctly and dripped on the table. But over all, it was nice.

Excellent birthday dinner, great service, great food.
We have dined here for a number of years, but this summer I was a bit disappointed. This is a pricey restaurant and my salmon dish could have been prepared by a very amateur chef. Very plain...nothing more than a little salt and pepper on salmon and stuck in an oven served over a very “little” garnish type thing with two asparagus. Sorry Glitretind...need to to better for five stars.

The food and service are both outstanding!!!
We were celebrating a milestone birthday and this experience did not disappoint. Everything about our meal was perfect. We have been to some very nice places but none better than this. Service, food, atmosphere, and views were all spectacular. I highly recommend the Glitretind for a date or special occasion.

Great food and service and awesome views!
We celebrated our anniversary with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Our waiter was perfect-he respected our "catch-up" time and kept himself near enough that we could let him know when we were ready to order our food. We were never rushed from one course to another. Food was beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The view from here is beautiful whether on the deck or near a window.

We love Stein Eriksen, however not the greatest experience. We dine there several times a year and have always had wonderful times there. I made a reservation at Glitretind and when we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated in the bar and had to ask for the regular restaurant menu. The servers were wonderful, but just a disappointment. I was frustrated that we were not alerted that we would not be seated in the Glitretind dining room, I would have chosen a different restaurant for this special occasion. It was a noteworthy birthday for my husband and it was not as great as I was anticipating.
