Pot roast nachos good
Friendly place for a burger and beer. Unfortunately first level is a bit drafty in the rainy, cold weather. Decent selection of beers on tap and bottles. Had the fish tacos and the spicy chicken sandwich - both good and well-priced. Nice for a casual meal.
Guacamole was brown, tortillas were soggy and falling apart, salmon was good with interesting glaze but "udon" noodles were actually linguini and were way over-cooked.
I can walk here, which makes it both convenient and good. Have been here many times with different groups. The food and service are always good.
Hadn't been here since it's remodeling many years ago. Was pleasantly surprised by the warm, casual ambience and good food. I liked being offered Brussel sprouts as a alternative to French fries as a side. Will return.
Great event with our friends.
We have passed by this place thousands of times but never went in. Good thing I called to get some information that day. There is ample parking along the side of the building. There is an outside elevator for handicapped access. I guess they are trying to update their menu. The food was mediocre, portions were on the small side and overpriced. The Ceasar salad was just iceberg lettuce, cut up and put on a flat plate with the dressing for $9.
The waitstaff was good for such busy and crowded place. The noise level was very loud, enough that we could not hear each other speak. It is a bar, and bars are usually loud, so make up your mind, bar or restaurant. Since they have been successful at that location for so many years, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
We had excellent service. We thought the menu was interesting and varied. Our food was delicious. This was our first visit. We plan to return in the near future.
Meh. They are trying hard yet not hard enough. Food was very overpriced for the quality. Nachos: chips were super greasy. Not nachos, more like a very watery dip of grease. Sliders were literally the size of a quarter. Ahi stack wasn't fresh, overcooked, and sauce was too heavy for the dish. The french dip was ok. Banana bread budding was awesome, but what was up with the side of watered down ice cream soup?! Martinis were unbreakable. Really really disappointed.
We enjoy meeting friends at Glenview House. Food is varied and good, there’s a good selection of reasonably priced beer, wine, spirits, and the service is excellent. Plus, there are plenty of screens for watching whatever game you want to see. We highly recommend GH.
Had a great meal here. The salmon dish was very unusual and delicious. The server was attentive and helpful with suggestions. I'll be back!
Not a good place to eat. The Chopped Salad was missing avocado and hard-boiled egg. I ordered the Italian Herb-Roasted Portobello sandwich, and was told they no longer offer it. They suggested a French-Dip sandwich instead. Now, I'm not a vegetarian, but if someone orders a portobello sandwich, wouldn't you ask if they'd like another vegetarian option before making suggestions? Anyhow, I got the French-dip, which was TINY. It was served on a dinner roll. Weak. I don't think we'll go back.
We had been after the remodel and didn't love it and found it to be over priced but decided to give it another shot. This time we had a great time, food was great and reasonably priced. Service was good but not excellent. We will be back again.
We thought we would try a new restaurant for dinner after an evening out. We enjoyed the friendly service and good food. Their beer selection appealed to my husband, who is fussy about his brews. Lovely place.
We went on a Sunday for lunch. We arrived at 1. It looked like they had not cleaned from the night before. The floor was dirty as were several tables. We went to sit at what appeared to be an available booth, but the seats were dirty and there were fries all over the floor. We found a table that was clean. Service was good, but the food was just average, and for the price definitely not worth it. We had burgers, which were good, but at $13.00 for a plain burger they should be. We had soup, which was not very good, priced at $5.00 a cup and $10.00 a bowl. Also not worth it. I think if you were going just to sit at the bar without eating it woudl be fine, but not very good for lunch.
This was a casual lunch to discuss family Secret Santa plans - a meeting between past and present organizers. We had a fabulous waiter who listened to each of us and fit the restaurant's menus and offerings to our needs.
He used his knowledge of the Glenview House's capabilities and adapted them to our desires. Forinstance, one of our party suggested Goose Island Matilda beer. Two of us had never tasted it, so our waiter offered to bring three glasses and we shared the beer. Tasty. Then we each ordered a bottle. Similar things happened with the main meal and dessert.
His service and the great food will bring us back again.
Cozy as all getout. The tacos were to die for. We'll definitely be going back. The bar area was busy but not too loud.
We thought we were making a reservation for the upstairs dining room. Instead we were seated in the bar due to a private party upstairs. Open Table either wasn’t aware of this or chose not to mention it. The bar was noisy, crowded, and the service was very slow. We were very overdressed.
Decent food in a bar setting. Service could be better.
Great service but needs a new chef. Chopped salad very unremarkable.... more iceberg lettuce than anything else
Ruth & I had an nice window table to people-watch the people eating on the deck and the weekend traffic in Glenview ... Our sever and service was fine and relaxed. I enjoyed my Kobe sliders. Ruth had the fish tacos, previously very good, but not this time ... The fish and vegies were just fine, but the tacos were mushy and it was useless to try and pick up the taco to eat. Even scraping the taco with a spoon was unrewarding ... Bleagh !!!
We discussed this with the server but did not hear back from anyone in the kitchen. Often with our previous meals we get a table check from someone in the kitchen or at least a greeting ...
Very nice local restaurant that is good for a nice dinner upstairs or casual dinner downstairs -- has a great bar and vibe for watching sports.
We met friends for dinner to tKe advantage of the warm evening and outdoor seating. We were impressed with the range of choices on the dinner and drink menus. We'll dine at Glenview House again.
Took my two grandchildren, ages 6 and 9. They love watching the trains from the outdoor seating area. Cuban sandwich was great! And the kids enjoyed the mac & cheese and burgers. Pleasant attentive waitstaff. Always a stop for us when in Glenview.
Food is good and the choice of craft beers is excellent. Sitting out front on a summer night is a plus.
One of our favorite restaurants! Food is always great! Love that we can request outside dining. Our friends from out of town loved the atmosphere!
Okay if you are more interested in a few beers than the food. Food was sub par
I ordered the Pan roasted chicken it was outstanding very tasty and cooked perfectly. My husband had the salmon and enjoyed it very much. Looks like the burgers are good. Food quality was excellent. Would definitely go there again.
We enjoyed our meals. I ordered the salmon which was very flavorful. My husband enjoyed the roasted chicken with vegetables. It was nice sitting on the patio enjoying good food and wine.
Holiday dining with great food and service. Dining at table or bar or outside pato
More of a bar setting than a restaurant. We went for Mothers Day and werent impressed. Service was fine but a bit spotty.
We liked going to Glenview House the few times we were there before but this time it was different and not such a good experience. Never go at 6 p.m. On a Saturday night. They said it was a shift change and that was why we were ignored for so long while the servers each felt like we were NOT their table.
The food was much better than I remember. Pleasant surprise.
THE NOISE LEVEL WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO DECREASE THE NOISE, LIKE ACOUSTICAL CEILING TILES, WINDOW DRAPERIES, ETC.
IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONVERSE. CONSULT A SOUND ENGINEER.
Awesome burger and great beer...I loved the IPA selection. It was just a little loud!
It was our first time there and the menu didnt have very much variety and it was a little expensive. $22 for a salad with a piece of salmon. The food was good. Looks like a great place to have a drink or beer in the summer. Lots of outside seating
Food was overpriced for the quality
Not your average pub food. The three beef burger (sirloin, chuck and short ribs with truffle oil) may be the best I've ever had. Foodie options at your local public house.
It had been a while since we were last at Glenview House. The reasons we hadn't been back were mediocre, overpriced food and ho-hum service. The good news is service was better this time around but nothing else has changed. We'd hoped with the new seasonal menu, things would be different. Instead, skimpy portions of whatever the Sysco truck delivered, devoid of presentation, priced at a level to expect much better. It's a shame too because the Glenview House has a cool pub vibe and is in a great location. Oh well.
Glenview house is a great local place with menus that are sesonally updated but favorites left in place. The three beef burger is awesome. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Just a great place
