The Gladly Ratings and Reviews
We travelled a little farther than we typically would for a night out. Well worth it! Warm and classy ambiance, great whisky selection, satisfying food. Appreciated the attentive* and knowledgeable service and special touch of a complimentary shortbread cookie and ice cream for my husband's birthday. *My only suggestion would be to minimize the visits to to refill water glasses, perhaps just replace the carafe as needed? A minor thing, maybe we aren't accustomed to that level of attention. Overall, it was a very pleasant and memorable evening! Most definitely returning and recommending!
We sat outside at lunch. The patio doesn't have a view and isn't very lively or decorative, but the food and the service were fantastic! I had the fish tacos and my friend had the wagyu & pork burger. Both we fabulous, hearty, and I would order them each again! Our waiter was super helpful and very attentive. I will definitely go back for lunch & brunch!!
Could not ask for more. New Year's eve, and packed restaurant. Booked at 9.30, and restaurant were behind ~30'. They apologized and found them very genuine. Took 30' to sit. Worth it. Food very well prepared despite being overbooked. Server excellent. Noise somewhat high but was ok. My kids love it. We did too. Because of the delay, they took 10% off without any complain from our part. We tipped well accordingly. Thanks! Too bad is ~200 miles from San Diego :)
When we make a reservation we don’t expect to be waiting 45 minutes for our table. If we are required to do that, perhaps the Gladly could offer us a drink. They expected us to stand for 45 minutes. Not even offered a place to sit when bar was full.
Outside was an option, but they have not installed heaters.
Normally I love The Gladly and I have gone here at least six times. But we came here on New Year’s Eve and they were an hour behind with our table. We ended up having to sit at the bar to eat dinner. The food was subpar for The Gladly, and they didn’t offer us anything to compensate. I will be coming back for sure, but definitely not on a holiday. Disappointing for a major event.
For being NYE, they did a great job! They kept up the quality of the food and drinks. Service was a little spotty at a few point but it was also NYE! Will def come back another night for a nice night out when it is not a holiday!! More than just a great whiskey bar!
Partner had the special NY Strip steak that was cooked to perfection. The meal was lean on potatoes and veggies, but the stead was superior. Good wine list and very cool bar vibe. The chef prepared a special vegan option (oil fried potatoes & grilled asparagus) for me. It wasn't the best, but it was kind of the chef to prepare something special. Most high end restaurants offer vegan and/or gluten-free options. I hope The Gladly will also, soon.
It was quiet on the morning of 12/24, so we really didn’t need a reservation, but everyone who was there was so friendly and the food was fantastic. Thank you to everyone from the self-proclaimed “lowly bartender” to our server, Monica.” Everything was perfect. And the whiskey list is impressive... I’ll have to come back when it isn’t breakfast time.
Great atmosphere and good vibe. I had the Chopped Salad with salmon; reminiscent of Cowboy Ciao's famous salad. My friend had the Chicken Club and raved about the bread.
Went there for lunch but would like to go back for happy hour. They're big on the cocktails.
As other reviews have stated, I wasn't "WOW"ed. I wasn't disappointed either. The service from Megan was very prompt, friendly and pleasant. The food was VERY good, and had a nice presentation. I had the Sea Bass, my friend had the Veal Meatloaf (AWESOME). However, for the price, I would have expected tablecloths and a more intimate dinning experience (OK, I'm kind of a restaurant snob). The vibe is a bit loud for me, but most restaurants opt for the open ceiling and cement floor decor that is currently hip; trouble is, it makes for BAD acoustics. I'm glad-ly that I experienced the restaurant as I'm always searching for a place I've not tried. I won't be back because it's not a must-have to drive from Chandler. Again, "VERY GOOD" food and service, "VERY MEDIOCRE" value and a bit too "ENERGETIC" for my liking.
The team at the Gladly was very accommodating to help us have the experience we were looking for. The food was fantastic, the wine & cocktails were great primarily because the staff were very thoughtful in their descriptions to help set the appropriate expectation. Looking forward to coming back!
Some of the tables seemed a little close and I thought since it was a little pricier place they would have had more comfortable seating but overall I had a really good experience. I loved that they had a lot of gluten free options for my husband to choose from. If you like dessert choose the Black and Tan! It’s like a bowl of heaven!!
