About The Gladly
The Gladly first opened its doors in the fall of 2013. Serving brunch, lunch and dinner, Chef Bernie Kantak creates unique and extraordinary cuisine intriguingly infused with inspiration from his travels. The bar is heavily stocked with over 250 whiskies and inventive cocktails, plus crafted ice balls available for an even more extraordinary drinking experience.
Groups can choose between a 30-seat semi-private mezzanine level dining room or a fully private banquet room with enough seating for up to 60 guests. Situated along the Camelback Corridor, The Gladly has the spirit and vibe of the big city with an earnest and comfortable atmosphere.

Groups can choose between our spacious outdoor patio, a 30-seat semi-private mezzanine overlooking the main dining room, or our 60-seat fully-private Whiskey Room outfitted with it's own bar as well as full audio/visual capabilities.

Food not a great value and menu seemed limited. Would have expected to be more wowed given the prices. Food was good but not spectacular. Drinks were good. Server was excellent. Had the bill been about 30% lower would have been closer to the mark. Would go again maybe for drinks and appetizers, but probably not for dinner.
We went there for a birthday celebration and it was a perfect setting outside with the cooler weather. They have lights strung and white table cloths. Their presentation of the ice all for his whiskey drink was neat to see. The food was amazing... the flavor, the textures, just amazing. Well worth a try!
We went for a relaxing Sunday Brunch and we were not disappointed. We received pleasant, attentive service and the food was delicious. The noise level was just enough to be lively but not loud...perfect for a relaxing late morning Sunday Breakfast. We look forward to returning for dinner soon.
We stopped in for Sunday brunch. We were seated immediately and our server Eric introduced himself and detailed the restaurant. He was pleasant and attentive.He made a recommendation to my wife to have the waffle. She was very pleased with the selection. I had the fish tacos which were seasoned to perfection. Our meal was presented very quickly. The location was previously a Ruth Chris restaurant but has been extensively remolded. Overall nothing negative to report.
The food and service are just wonderful. Went there for Sunday brunch and sat outside. The grits and eggs were epic!! Truffle oil, the most tender ham steak, all combined with pecorino Romano cheese was the essence of savory.
They are also famous for their whiskey bar and happy hour with small plates. You will be astounded by the depth and breadth of the whiskies they offer. Whether you like bourbon or scotch, you’ll find your favorite along with several you have heard about and wanted to try.
We will definitely be back and plan to go to a happy hour sometime. This is a gem, no matter how hard to impress you might be.
Stopped by during happy hour after an afternoon mac genius appointment. We were very pleasantly surprised after earlier mixed review from friends when it was new. Happy hour appetizers were delicious as were our drinks. We also enjoyed the upscale meatloaf and spicy shank dinner. Have no idea what it's like during the busy times but we'll be back. The patio also looked nice and is shaded later in the day.
It is difficult to evaluate. We did not like our entrée (smoked roasted chicken) but loved the chopped salad. Our friend's order was not done properly and had to go back. This was in spite of very specific instructions to our server. I don't feel it was the server but the kitchen who did not pay attention. From my perspective there is nothing worse than 3 people eating and one waiting for their food. The restaurant had very few occupied tables and the kitchen was not being stressed. We have dined at the Gladly before and enjoyed our meal. We would go back but would order something else.
Food is outstanding. However, unless I could get a seat outdoors on the patio I'm not sure I will return anytime soon as it is so noisy it is difficult to have a conversation. I made my reservation with Open Table, checked in on time and had a great meal. However, the restaurant reported to Open Table that I had not kept my reservation and Open Table then docked me on some points. I was able to get it straightened out by contacting Open Table.
The Gladly has some of my favorite dishes plus inventive specials every night. The food is delicious and the staff are the most friendly, helpful and downright nice of any restaurant in Phoenix. Now that it's cooling off, the patio offers an attractive alternative to the busy hubbub indoors.
We enjoyed meals from the 2017 Arizona Restaurant Week menu - they were fantastic! The scallops were the best I've had, anywhere. Our server, Kat, was attentive but not pushy, which we appreciated. We are from out of state and were very pleased to have made the choice to visit The Gladly. 5 stars ☺
We had a great evening at The Gladly. Our group has picky drinkers and picky eaters. Both were able to find delicious, satisfying food and drinks. The service was attentive. If you are looking for fine cocktails and wonderful food The Gladly should definitely be on your list.
Extremely slow service for an empty house during a Sunday lunch. Our waitress kept forgetting to bring items like sugar for tea, refills on pricey drinks or condiments. I do admit the drinks were worth the price, but the food was ok. Just expected quite a bit more for the hype and star rating. I would not recommend this restaurant unfortunately.
It was our first time to the restaurant. We had heard very nice things about it. It was our 56th wedding anniversary and when we arrived there was a sign of congratulations on the table. Then the very friendly waited poured us all a glass of champagne. I loved it.....
The food was great and it turned out to be restaurant week so we ordered from that menu.
My husband has Parkinson’s and he was helped up the stairs by the staff. He thought that was great.
We will return when it gets cooler and sit outside. The couple we were with loved it also.
Second time at the Gladly, remarkable as the first visit 2 years ago. Oysters, appetizers, entrees and cocktails, everything was fantastic. Grilled octopus and the duck meatloaf were the food highlights. The High Five cocktail was so good my wife ordered one and she is not a whiskey drinker. The Gladly keeps creating great food and great cocktails. Need to come here more often then every 2 years.
This restaurant is excellent. It has one of the most extensive Scotch selections around. My personal favorite is the Bullet Rye Manhattan but if you're a scotch drinker you'll love the options. Food selections are delicious and creatively prepared. Wait staff is courteous and attentive. There is an urban vibe and great energy. My only objection is the noise level is high and the tables and chairs are tiny and uncomfortable.
Always a pleasure to dine at The Gladly! Good place for Sunday brunch with friends - it's been a while but the menu was still awesome, the drinks were great (I had Apple of My Islay - highly recommend it) as was the wine we had with our meal (a Chinon Blanc), our server, Lance, was attentive without being intrusive - all in all a great time!
Food was fantastic but service was seriously lacking. It was obvious that the waiter was upset when he thought we weren't going to spend very much money in the beginning. His demeanor changed dramatically once he realized the bill would include a bottle of wine to bring the total up. Took me forever to get some sweetener for our iced teas. In addition he never acknowledged my husband's birthday or offered him anything for dessert despite the restaurant placing a Happy Birthday tent card on our table for him. Very disappointing birthday celebration dinner.
