The Gladly Ratings and Reviews
I like the restaurant because they have the traditional chopped salad! That’s me and my girlfriend’s favorite appetizer. The waitress is helpful and serve us well! The only thing I don’t really agree with them is that they one small bottle of soda and no refills. But it’s expected for a restaurant like this! I’ll go back next time for sure.
Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day, showed up a bit early and was seated immediately. Our waiter was very helpful and provided some much needed guidance on drinks as well as food. Very quick service, but not in a rushing manner. I will definitely be coming back
Our server was awful. Came once to take our order and once to drop the check. Food was poorly timed. The risotto was so hard and bland we asked to have it removed from our bill. I ordered a beer, it came out with our entrees. We ran out of water and no one ever refilled us. We ordered two of the chopped salads, they always ask if we’d like them tossed. They offered everyone around us but dropped ours and left. Never asked if we needed anything else. No one ever check to see how our food was. It was a terrible experience $98.00 before tip for 3 people. I’d expect better service from a restaurant like The Gladly.
All the way from the attentive service that we received walking in the door to the exquisite menu, I would highly recommend the Gladly. They have figured out how to get so many menu items just right. My spouse had a burger that was beautiful and not so a huge patty of meat. I had the grilled veggies and red rice, which was one of the best that I have had. Put this place on your list of Phoenix destinations.
I had been here before for restaurant week and was looking forward to coming back for a full dinner. One of the most fun things is getting a cocktail and having them put ice into their ice press and watching them make a perfectly round clear iceball for your cocktail. I highly recommend that. I was disappointed with their oysters, but my wife liked them. The main courses were pretty weak. My wife's poke was one of the least impressive we have tasted. Everyone has poke now, so it should be easy to put together a good poke dish. I've had better poke dishes at fast food places for half the price. The fish tacos were ok. The bread pudding was very good for dessert. The waitstaff was very friendly and did a great job.
The lunch menu is limited. There are only 3 or 4 Salad Entrees. My companion and I both ordered the Chopped Salad.....the table-side presentation was uninspired, unattractive, and unnecessary. The tasted fine, but looked like what it was.....a bunch of vegetables, chopped in VERY small pieces, tossed in dressing and plopped into a bowl. Not appealing to the eye. No mention or offer of bread or rolls to accompany the salad. Dessert was the savior of the meal....Salted Caramel Creme Brûlée. Excellent. (However, our waiter brought our check before even asking if we were interested in Dessert. We were! Note to waiter: Never assume. (Other than that hiccup, he was very delightful.)
We were greeted by the friendly staff, and promptly seated within 5 min of our reservation time. We started with the superb burrata, and then shared the must-have chopped salad amongst the 3 of us. It lived up to its reputation! The fresh fish and scallop dishes were also superb. Overall, an excellent experience!!!
It was fine- Good food (especially the steak salad) and good drinks. The restaurant was very accommodating for a large party (12) and even put out a nice happy birthday sign. The service was a bit of a bummer. I understand large parties can be difficult though, but overall I left feeling forgotten.
Absolutely amazing - top to bottom. From Service to unbelievably delicious food. Came for group business dinner after a long meeting and tried most things on the menu and everything was amazing. We had 14 pp in our group, but service was timed perfectly - food was hot and came out together. Desserts were to die for. Extensive wine list, but terrific selection of whiskey and cocktails - had the giant ice cube made at our table. Great fun for all!
I love the chopped salad, and go for lunch frequently to get that salad. My only complaint is that it can be ridiculously difficult to park. I have had to leave and go to another restaurant several times due to the dearth of parking. I strongly urge the restaurant to make arrangements for alternate parking on-site, with adequate signage to alert patrons of alternate parking.
We travelled a little farther than we typically would for a night out. Well worth it! Warm and classy ambiance, great whisky selection, satisfying food. Appreciated the attentive* and knowledgeable service and special touch of a complimentary shortbread cookie and ice cream for my husband's birthday. *My only suggestion would be to minimize the visits to to refill water glasses, perhaps just replace the carafe as needed? A minor thing, maybe we aren't accustomed to that level of attention. Overall, it was a very pleasant and memorable evening! Most definitely returning and recommending!
We sat outside at lunch. The patio doesn't have a view and isn't very lively or decorative, but the food and the service were fantastic! I had the fish tacos and my friend had the wagyu & pork burger. Both we fabulous, hearty, and I would order them each again! Our waiter was super helpful and very attentive. I will definitely go back for lunch & brunch!!
Could not ask for more. New Year's eve, and packed restaurant. Booked at 9.30, and restaurant were behind ~30'. They apologized and found them very genuine. Took 30' to sit. Worth it. Food very well prepared despite being overbooked. Server excellent. Noise somewhat high but was ok. My kids love it. We did too. Because of the delay, they took 10% off without any complain from our part. We tipped well accordingly. Thanks! Too bad is ~200 miles from San Diego :)
