The Ginger Man
The Ginger Man’s menu accommodates people of all ages with everything from grilled cheese to entrée-sized salads and two to three fish selections daily. The restaurant still uses a real butcher from the New York City marketplace to hand pick its steaks and blend that special mix for its famous burgers.
The Ginger Man features 23 taps, 80+ bottles and a well chosen wine list from small and large Vineyards around the world. The Ginger Man’s burgers and beers were voted “best burger” and “best beer selection.”

The chopped salad with goat cheese and an add-on of shrimp was good. Smaller than I’d like though. The steak wrap was just ok. Missing something. Our waitress was 3 star, and not very helpful/friendly. The water guy needed to be filling quicker as we were without water a couple times. I think for a restaurant in Greenwich I was expecting 5 star food and service. This is 3 star at best. Nice atmosphere, but I didn’t care for sitting so close to strangers as I’m sure they didn’t appreciate sitting near me!
What a horrible experience today, it was overrun with preteens at each table on their own, throwing things at each other and loud. Food took forever & looked like they slapped all the food onto plate just to get it out. Left
mid meal we couldn’t take the craziness or the food.
Great food cozy atmosphere
We love the gingerman for great all around dining. Whether just a drink, appetizers, Hamburger or a steak always good. I especially love the fireplace in the winter.
We were seated up stairs which is quieter than the pub below. Ambience was nice and the food, for pub food, was quite good. Two turkey burgers and two salmons were enjoyed by our group. Apple crisp for desert was average though. Overall we were very pleased with the experience and value.
The Ginger Man is always a great restaurant no matter what the occasion.
Noisy but nice
Excellent service and cuisine although food was slow coming
Overall very good, service was a bit slow and the food was good but one of the sandwiches had rubbery chicken.
Best service and great food
Very nice ambience for a chilly evening, fireplace burning. Lively atmosphere but not too loud for a quiet conversation. Tasty burger, and very delicious roasted chicken. Super pleased with our whole evening.
great beer and burger
Lovely upstairs table. Attentive service. excellent food. not so noisy. sweet potatoe calm chowder was the best. apple crisp desert was outstanding. even salads were special
The Ginger Man is a neighborhood gem. It is a pub. Unfortunately, they changed the menu and removed and changed a lot of our favorite dishes. The service is nice.
terrible food, service people mean, overpriced, and an overall terrible experience.
Comfort food at its best!👌
Food was good, with ample choices on the menu.
For indoor dining, i thought that the tables were way too close together. Did not see any real restrictions in place.
A wonderful surprise!
The Ginger Man is a wonderful pub/bistro in Greenwich with great food and pretty good service. The burgers are great, drinks are terrific, outdoor and indoor dining choices and overall we love it. One suggestion would be to have all employees super clear on allergies. I called to ask about whether they cook with peanut oil and immediately the gentlemen said no, but I could tell he wasn't sure. I asked him to please check with the chef and when he came back on the phone he definitely said, "Yes we cook with peanut oil. It's a combination of vegetable and soybean oil." That's a quote. I explained to him politely that those are not peanut oil, then he said, "No, we don't cook with peanut oil." Not trying to cause an issue , but rather help solve a problem. With all the struggles that hospitality is going through, just a suggestion to mgmt to have stuff thoroughly briefed on issues like this and how to attend to them so they can attract as many diners as possible.
Nice surroundings, seems like a lot of families. Fish & chips was delicious, so was the only burger on the menu.
Everyone else was sitting outside so we were basically inside alone. It was kind of nice.
Wait staff was great. All in all a lovely evening.
Food was awful.
Servers and hostess were very nice.
This a “go to place” for us for everyday dining. Usually we would give every category an excellent but this time just very good.
My wife’s steak salad was not the way it used to be as the steak was tough and she suspects a cheaper cut of beef. Service was okay but again not quite up to our usual experience. Maybe either staff shortage or new? Waiter forgot to return my credit card until reminded.
We will be back and expect things will have gotten back to normal but won’t order steak salad again.
Great brunch spot out front. Waitress, food and staff exceptional
The Ginger Man is a Greenwich standard. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the food is consistently great. The bar area is beautiful as well. This is the Connecticut version of CHEERS, except with an awesome menu. Try the fish & chips, and you'll dream about it.
Great burger and salad. We sat in outdoor dining on Greenwich Ave. was very nice
Excellent service and great food. Always a favorite!
We ate outside. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my elderly guest.
We sat on the outdoor patio which we prefer during COVID. The waitress was pleasant and efficient. The food was quite good and moderately priced. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Great spot, good food prices right. Had fish and chips -‘delicious. Indoor seating was noisy
We always enjoy a visit to the Ginger man when we're in Greenwich.
A nice selection of draft beers, and a casual place to just unwind. In Winter the fire-placed dining area is a treat.
Good quality with great service.
They need to offer entre options for vegetarians.
Convenient and well located
Making a reservation was easy. We were seated promptly and the staff was courteous.
Meals were great and moderately priced.
Made for a wonderful anniversary dinner.😎
The food was excellent and reasonably priced!
Brunch was delicious and service was amazing! Highly recommend the chocolate french toast, bellinis and burgers. Everyone was very happy with their food and the service was fantastic!
I have been to the ginger man many times and always enjoy the food immensely. The staff is friendly and attentive.
I showed up to the restaurant and was informed that they had an “issue with food delivery,” and the kitchen was closed. They said they could seat us, but they had nothing but water and guacamole. Why couldn’t they have called me in advance to let me know? My phone number was on this reservation. Terrible service, unprofessional waiting staff. What kind of restaurant runs out of food? I will never be coming back here again, and I will be informing my friends to avoid this place.
Used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town - seems like covid has taken its toll a
Food good but menu very limited.
This is the only regular restaurant my family visits in Greenwich for years now and is also a good choice for late night snacks. Food is very good; Bavarian pretzel, turkey burger with sautéed onions, fries, CT beer.
