The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is currently undergoing a grand restoration of all social spaces which will roll out in 2021. This historic project will unveil a fully transformed lobby experience that will anchor a modern classic bar and debut a new restaurant that will reflect the evolution of its beloved The Georgian.
Lovely place with great tea selection and beautiful selection of pastries and tea sandwiches.
Elegant and tasty, though service could have been more attentive.
Thank you for dining with us at the Georgian and for your kind words regarding ambiance and food. We apologize that our service did not meet expectations. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Outstanding afternoon tea experience! Would definitely recommend.
Thank you for your kind words. We're so pleased you enjoyed your visit to the Georgian and appreciate you taking the time to share. MIke West, Director of Food & Beverage
Beautiful room, perfect service. Reservation was for Tea. Price expected was $55 per person. The food was nice. Very hard to keep sandwiches fresh. Scones were outstanding. The price we were charged was $95 per person. On examining the Open Table details after returning home, it is stated that Holiday Tea is $95. That’s on me for not reading the small print. Still, I am disappointed. We love Fairmonts and search them out in other cities that we visit belonging to their Accor plan. Just returned from Maui Fairmont. Can’t say enough good about it.
Thank you for joining us for Holiday Tea. We apologize for any confusion and appreciate you sharing, as all details are important to us. We hope you will visit us again in the new year and give us an opportunity to wow you. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
While I understand this is an "experience" I am appalled out how little value is is offered for the price of $95 per person. There was only a single type of tea allowed to be expected. Additionally, the food portions were abysmally small. Just overall disappointing as an opportunity to have a treat. There are far better ways to spend $200 for two people.
Thank you for taking the time to share you experience. We apologize for your disappointment and appreciate the feedback. We wish you a happy new year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Such an iconic setting. Beautiful room, table settings, and attentive wait staff.
Thank you for joining us at the Georgian and for sharing your experience. We appreciate your kind words. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Overall good. Excellent choices of seafood and meat for the sandwiches. Desserts were delicious. Bread choice for sandwiches could have been more creative to suit the fillings. Was not informed about the 45% higher price for holiday tea unti I got there. The three confirmation requests I received did not inform me of this increase in price either. The regular price continued to be advertised with no notice about the increased holiday prices. There was a lack of understanding of how to serve tea properly.Tea was very good however leaves were left in the pot. Green tea will become bitter when left in the pot. The regular price is worth the experience. I would not recommend holiday tea simply because it was well overpriced for the overall experience for this Fairmont Hotel. The holiday tea price was not worth it at all.
Thank you for joining us for Holiday Tea. We appreciate your detailed review. We apologize for any misunderstanding about the price. Thank you for your kind words regarding the food. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
We were very happy with the service, food, and ambiance. It couldn't have been any better. Thanks to the management and staff.
Thank you for joining us and for sharing such kind words. We hope you will visit us soon in the new year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Mediocre high tea at best. Definitely not worth the price.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We apologize that we did not meet expectations. Wishing you a happy new year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Beautiful venue, excellent service. Food disappointing. Bread was dry for the finger sandwiches.
Thank you for your honest feedback. We appreciate your kind words regarding our ambiance and service and apologize for the disappointments. Wishing you a happy new year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
We go to the Georgian Room every Christmas Eve day for a family breakfast. We love the elegance, food and service. However this year was extremely disappointing. We had a reservation for 10am and had to wait 20 minutes. I can accept that. We had trouble getting our coffee to us right away. Not cool. We had to wait 40 minutes for our food. And then we waited and waited for our check even though there weren’t many customers by this time. Finally my husband got up to ask for the check.
We already consider our going there to be a special treat and worth the money, but our experience showed it definitely was not worth the money.
Thank you for joining us in the Georgian and for taking the time to share your experience. We apologize for the disappointments and for not meeting expectations. We consider this feedback important and will discuss it with staff as we review. Thank you again and happy new year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Everything during our holiday tea in this restaurant was medium quality (except maybe the loose leaf tea) for a very hefty price. The food was good but not great, same for the service. I have been to other holiday teas and they are expensive but they offer exceptional English service and unique sandwiches and treats. This one definitely did not meet expectations. It was rather disappointing for a stylish hotel like the Fairmont and the high price of holiday tea. I wouldn't go again or recommend it, very sad indeed.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate when guests give us honest feedback and apologize that we did not meet expectations. Your comments will be taken into consideration and shared with the staff. We wish you a happy new year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
All the sandwiches and desserts, except scones, were not as good as I have heard and expected. I love having an afternoon tea and I had been waiting to try this one. But frankly, I was very disappointed. The sandwiches didn’t tasted good. It just seemed like sandwiches were sitting there waiting to be served for a long time. Desserts were not that good or exciting. They were so simple. The tea was moderate but when tea leaves were left in the tea pot for a long time, it made the tea tasted bitter. And there was no such a thing that you could take the tea leaves out of the pot. I thought my experience here would have been way better than this. All those things made it not worth the price which was very pricey during holiday seasons.
We enjoyed a lovely holiday tea in the most beautiful dining room in Seattle. Quite pricey, but worth it for special occasions!
Thank you for joining us for Holiday Tea at the Georgian and for your kind words. We appreciate you taking the time to share. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
holiday tea with the kids. the room felt tired and not as opulent as i expected but the food was fabulous and the service was great.
Thank you for joining us this holiday season. We appreciate you taking the time to share and for your kind words about the food and service. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
It is a very elegant setting, but I don't plan on returning, especially not in the holiday season.
It was busy, but the service was was very slow and the food was underwhelming.
When you pay over $20 for an omelet, you expect it to be cooked perfectly- this one was overdone.
The Croque Madame was good, but again, at those prices, that's the minimum standard.
We were never offered water and when we did ask for it, it took over 10 minutes.
All in all, it was disappointing.
Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to share you experience. We apologize that we did not meet expectation and appreciate your detailed comments. We will review this with staff. We hope to have an opportunity to serve you again in the new year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Lovely holiday tea with delicious treats! It’s a delightful place to kickoff the holidays. The Fairmont has a beautiful tree and the Georgian room is elegant as always.

Elegant but not stuffy. Fabulous tradition, superb food with divine gluten free options.
attentive service.
Don’t miss the teddy bear suite afterwards. Prime photo ops for parents and grandparents.
Thank you for joining us for Holiday Tea and for your kind words about our food and service. We too think the Fairmont Olympic is very special during the holidays. We look forward to seeing you in the new year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
I could see someone doing this for a special occasion. I could see a mom or grandma doing this with kids. It just didn't make me want to come back every year. I'm glad I did it. The employees were great. The food was yummy. The place is beautiful. It is just for $95 I didn't feel a need to make it a tradition. The chicken and egg salad sandwiches were my favorites. The peppermint dark chocolate my favorite dessert.

Love this tradition!!!
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your tradition and for sharing. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
I might recommend The Georgian, but not the Holiday Tea. It is WAY overpriced, and when we requested another chicken curry sandwich (thanks for bringing back the older recipe), we were told we would have to be charged. Really? After spending $100 for tea and sandwiches? We've come four years in a row. No more.
Thank you for joining us for Holiday Tea at the Georgian and for honest feedback. We apologize that we did not meet expectation and will take your comments into consideration for next year. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage

Birthday afternoon tea. the price was much too high for the amount of food and service,

Love the holiday tea!
Thank you for joining us for a holiday treat and for sharing your kind words. We wish you a happy holiday season. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. $95 +tax/tip per person for the holiday tea was not a justified price increase over the normal afternoon tea price. No different than the normal afternoon tea service!!

We were staying at The Fairmont celebrating a holiday weekend in the city with our children so we decided to try breakfast at the restaurant. It was so nice to be able to book a reservation online because they’re very hard to reach by phone, even if you’re a guest at the hotel.
The room the restaurant is in is beyond beautiful- historic, grand and so fancy feeling. It’s worth it to go and get a bad appetizer and drink just to sit in the room. My girls loved the enormous chandeliers and huge windows. It felt like a very grand ballroom.
Unfortunately the rest of the experience was a complete failure. The food was terrible and we give a lot of leniency to a bad meal but this was truly bad. The Olympic omelet was very dry. The Benedict was very short on hollandaise, not seasoned and really tasteless and the girls’ teddy bear pancakes were burnt. It was like they saw the burnt side and flipped that side down and served it. We ended up returning my kids’ meals and getting refunds but honestly it diminished the entire experience.
The service was ok, far from good. The waiter was just missing most of the time. We had to find someone to refill our coffee and creamer and waited a long time for our meal.
Honestly it was really disappointing and odd to have all the pieces there- an incredible location and historic hotel, eager clientele and yet the food and service were so lacking. It almost felt like they’d given up. Ug! It pains me to advise going elsewhere until they can serve a meal worth the steep price tag (you’ll pay close to double what you can find in the area). I honestly hope they work out the issues- I’d love to go back for their tea service if they do!

I have had holiday tea here multiple times, and it was always such a wonderful experience. This time, the food and service were, at best mediocre, and the price has significantly increased. I was really disappointed.

Tea was wonderful and Jorge is always an exceptional server. Sadly this is the last tea at the georgian since they’re demolishing and renewing it all in January. We hear they’re spending 10 million on the renovation which will include the full second (lobby) floor as well.
We’re looking forward to seeing the new space but will miss the wonderful ambience of the georgian room.
Thank you for joining us for Holiday Tea. Thank you, especially, for mentioning Jorge. We will be sure he sees your kind words. We too are looking forward to the grand-scale renovation honoring this buildings timeless grandeur and to welcoming you back to the Fairmont Olympic. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
It’s a big splurge but a lovely holiday treat. They can accommodate gluten free needs-with delicious tea sandwiches, scones and dessert.

We were celebrating two birthday and decided to attend the Christmas tea. The tea choices were great, along with the scones and sandwiches. The only downside out party thought was that the desserts fell short.ast year there were small fondant red velvet cakes and others that we were really looking forward too but the stollen bread and cannoli with caviar fell a bit short in our opinion. Service was great though.
Thank you for celebrating the holiday/birthday season with us at the Georgian. We apologize for any disappointments you experience and appreciate the detailed information. We appreciate your kind words as well. We hope to welcome you again before the next holiday season. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage

My girls and I have always loved going out for tea. However, I was very disappointed in the service at the Georgian. The cost per person was $95, I would have expected attentive service, this was not the case. The wait staff were all very nice, but the total service was not very good.

such a lovely experience with excellent service. just too expensive.
Thank you for dining with us at the Georgian and for sharing your kind words. We appreciate all feedback. Wishing you a happy holiday. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
We love doing afternoon tea and this one was no exception. Kitchen had no problem substituting for 2 of us who do not eat seafood and even replaced an egg sandwich for one of us who did not like egg salad. No problem. Although we enjoyed the Christmas tea - we thought it was a bit pricey.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're glad we were able to make the adjustments and that you enjoyed the Holiday Tea. Wishing you a happy holiday. Mike West, Director of Food & Beverage
Every year I want this experience to be wonderful and every year they let me down... When will the Fairmont step this up?
