The Georgian Ratings and Reviews
We went for afternoon to celebrate our Valentine’s Day. It was absolutely lovely! The service was wonderful. However, I will say, as tea drinkers, we don’t exactly agree with their tea service. They put the loose tea leaves in the pot and a strainer over your cup as you pour. Unfortunately, this created a bitter cup of tea for my boyfriend after his second pour. I had a white tea, so it wasn’t too noticeable. Overall, a very enjoyable luxury to indulge in for a romantic afternoon.
The tea was nice, however, at the end of our meal and visit, one waiter began changing linens and setting up tables near us - stacking glasses and silverware right behind my friend's chair...
quite rude and distracting, especially that the room was not even half full of guests, so NO need to rush into set-ups ! I had asked for a birthday acknowledgement, and that came as we were preparing to leave. The waiters were polite but not especially attentive.
We had high tea and were very disappointed in the food. We were expecting a traditional English tea. Instead the sandwiches were more of a middle eastern flavor. We were full but not satisfied. We wish we would have have ordered off you regular lunch menu. Sincerely John Becker
While the Georgian restaurant is beautiful and the tea offering was wonderful, one of my tea companions was in a wheelchair and the Olympic Hotel, to my shock, is not friendly to the disabled. She had to be taken through the back hallways and onto the service elevator to reach the restaurant and taken back out the same way. The restrooms for the restaurant are on another floor with only staircase access. If there had been an emergency we would have had to carry her out. I was disappointed and saddened.
Although the service was very good, when I arrived I found that my wheelchaired companion had been put at the worst table in the room and that seemed disrespectful to me. I will say that they did change the table at my request without a lot of backchat.
The Georgian is a beautiful venue, with consistently delicious foods and gracious, professional wait staff. This time of year (mid-Nov) it’s even a lovelier time to visit because of the beautiful holiday trees in the lobby. The ambience is excellent and adds to the feeling of being someplace special.
Elegant setting. Superior staff and service. The afternoon tea is a little pricey ($50) but worth every penny. You pick the tea you'd like then it comes with a 3 tier tray of goodies (scones, sandwiches, and desert bites) which were all delicious! This would be a great thing to do with friends or a mom/grandmother/mother in law. It was a wonderful experience all around.
We made reservations for the afternoon tea to celebrate my sister-in-laws birthday. She was blown away! The space was very elegant, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and was presented very elegantly. I will recommend the Georgian Room tea to my friends and we will be back.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary and had a great time. We split the burger and the crab and both were delicious. The service was great and the price was reasonable given the venue and quality of food. I would highly recommend trying The Georgian at least once.
This is an elegant and beautiful setting. The afternoon tea met all of my criteria for a formal British-style tea: china, 3-tiered plate, scones, sandwiches, and sweets. We were even able to get additional sandwiches for a small fee (since we did this as lunch). Wonderful attentive service!
Yes, this is pricey and I won't do it often - but two grandmas and a very dear 5-year-old granddaughter had a lovely afternoon tea here recently. We celebrated a grandma birthday and kindergarten coming up and it all felt very, very special. Lovely food for tea - beautiful AND delicious, great service and such elegant surroundings. Our granddaughter said "I want to stay here forever!"
Hard to beat for a special occasions!
Wonderful authentic British style afternoon tea! Food is delicious, including gluten free options. We're been here several times over the past 5+ years and unfortunately have to say that the service is not nearly attentive as it has been in the past. We were disappointed in this aspect. We will still return, as the experience cannot be replicated elsewhere in Seattle, but The Fairmont needs to address the decline in service.
