It is a beautiful hotel. However, it was quite pretentious, the tea wasn’t bad, food was sub par, presentation of food left a lot to be desired...it was my first time having tea in Seattle. I’m thinking expectations were too high since I am from Chicago and there are so many options to choose from. Our server was very nice, on the better side than what I have experienced during my year here so far, however in general, Seattle has a long way to go to get their service up to par with other major cities. I will not have tea there again, but would be great as a starter place for someone who has never been to tea, or a yearly outing.
The food was not very good, weird combos I.e. cucumber sandwiches with strawberries, and it was just on rye bread, they had matcha dessert that did not taste like matcha...and most desserts looked very unappetizing, and their scones tasted more like biscuits.
The overall ambiance was nice but didn’t have the greatest experience. Definitely expected more from the Fairmont.
Lovely atmosphere. Be advised there are a series of steps into the dining room so access may be difficult for those with limited walking ability.
Great on all aspects!
It was a very enjoyable experience and we're planning to do it again during the upcoming holiday season.
The Georgian is the most beautiful restaurant in Seattle with impeccable service and great food! We truly miss dinners at the Georgian....it was always our favorite!
i made a note on our reservation of four for high tea that one person had tree nut allergies and that the occasion was for an anniversary. when i received a call to confirm, the person on the line even acknowledged that there was someone with an allergy and that the occasion was for an anniversary and i stated there were two anniversaries. i reassured by her mentioning these things that we would be treated very well!
we were seated promptly, but we were in a corner by an doorway so that made the ambiance meh. the teas were explained to us and they even offered a smell test for all of them which was great. the food came out for the first couple and then my boyfriend and i got our set up. i again stated his tree nut allergies and the waiter acted surprised then debated taking our food away so he could bring back a nut free one. i explained i could eat nuts so we didn’t need a whole tray of nut free food for both of us. so he said he’d let us keep the one he brought and it made me feel like he was “doing us a favor”.
he brought out the nut free set up for my boyfriend in a timely manner and the food was good but it just didn’t feel special or what i was looking forward to. he stated again that he let us keep the other food made for two people once he brought the new one out kind of alluding that we got extra food.
i saw a bunch of reviews where people got strawberries for stating it was a birthday or anniversary on the occasion and two anniversaries went unnoticed when we chose to dine here specifically. shame because we stayed at the hotel and that was great but will probably not be back for high tea.
Special experience in a beautiful place. Wonderful service.
you should rotate the tea party's menu more often than only seasonal
The staff were amazing. We were attended to but never felt intruder upon. The manager even moved a young man who decided this was a great place to have a long loud business phone call to the opposite end of the restaurant. Highly recommend the afternoon champagne tea service.
I’ve eaten in the Georgian Room several times this year. I have had tasteless ravioli, scallops with a too rich, boring pea risotto, an over cooked hamburger, two day old bread, and squash soup that tasted like a dead pumpkin. Who is cooking? This gorgeous room deserves a chef that can cook. The 4 cafe on the lower level has decent salads and beautiful French gateaux.
Love this restaurant! All aspects of the dining experience is exceptional!
Fantastic Service and a delicious experience! I always enjoy my time at the Fairmont in Seattle. This was my first Afternoon Tea experience at the Seattle location and it was the best yet. I will be back!
It was a beautiful room, gorgeous high ceilings made it extra opulent.
Average service, food good but nothing that special. Sad they charge you to park there even if you’re in the restaurants? Good experience but expected a bit more for the place and the money.
The service was attentive without being overbearing. Food was of highest quality and the selections were plenty. The kale smoothie was the best I've ever had. Beautiful dining room. The hostesses were very inviting and accommodating.
The quality of the food is appropriate for the cost although I was disappointed that I was unable to order Pea Salad for dinner. I was told that the Pea Salad was "put away for lunch only." Strange that if the Pea Salad was on the premises, that I couldn't order a serving of it.
It is noisy so hard to enjoy a quiet conversation.
Food delivery (time it took) seemed a little slow, for the amount of patrons. But food quality was excellent, servers and attention given our table was excellent, and the atmosphere - superb.
Outstanding service and food especially for the price. I would recommend this to anyone!
It was my wife’s birthday and she loved it. She grew up in Africa under the influence of the British so High Tea speaks of home to her.
Located in the beautiful Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Very romantic set up. Impeccable service and very tasty Afternoon Tea.
The playlist were not proper for the ambience. It was kind of loud and not the right type for the experience. The staff is very nice, efficient and professional. The value of the experience is kind of high for what is served. Overall we liked it and will probably return.
The desserts are way too sweet. The sandwiches are really weird and I don't like them either. We have two people, but we only shared one plate and decided to not touch the second plate. Server didn't ask me if I have any alleges, and the service doesn't meet my expectation. It's not worth the price.
A very elegant experience that will be remembered...high tea was a first for my wife.
Amazing place. If you want to impress your date, go here.
Bread in finger sandwiches were dry and stale. The sandwiches were not so tasty and the desert items were unimaginative. The ambiance and wheelchair assistance was good. The scones were nice
Service was great, ambiance was amazing. Unfortunately the olympic omlette ($25) had no garnish, cheap shrimp and all around unremarkable for twenty five dollars. The first omlette to come out looked the same but with ham and cheese. I sent it back and it was obvious that they just took the filling out and replaced it because the new omlette was broken and came out VERY fast. I just found it hard to believe that this elevated restaurant would send out something that just looked like two rectangles on a large plate. I should have got the continental buffet for the same price and could have been happier. I don't like writing reviews but we should step our game up to match the ambiance, service and price.
I brought my friend to celebrate her birthday and we mostly had a lovely time despite the less than exceptional service. The food was mostly good except for a couple of items - dry sandwiches were our main complaint. The desserts were lovely and the atmosphere is beautiful. The service seemed rushed. They even asked us to pay our bill halfway through our tea because the server was leaving. I never enjoy that. To top it all off, my friend who is 7 months pregnant and has to eat smaller meals, asked for the leftovers to be packed and the server smooshed the sandwiches and desserts all into one small box so when we came home everything was soggy and ruined. I will be calling them to speak to management. This is not the type of service I expect from the Georgian.
The Georgian Room represents the quintessential
refined elegance as the ambience exudes serenity! The brunch and lunch are superb along with the service. We have enjoyed dining here for decades and shall continue to do so in years to come!
A wonderful afternoon tea service! Great selection of very interesting, even exotic teas -- highly recommend the Ontario Ice Wine. They also offer a Champagne tea option, and three mixed drinks using their teas. The Georgian MUST be the best in the city!
The scallops were cooked perfectly. The crabcake looked delicious. Jorge was so attentive. The room so light and elegant. What a nice touch to offer newspapers on a side table. My sister recommended it and I will return to celebrate my friend's birthday, yay!
Food and service always excellent!
Love the Georgian Room. However, this is the first time that the food was disappointing. The chop salad was boring, and mostly lettuce. Next time, I will order non-salad offerings.
Always love our annual holiday tea here. The Santa tea was fun this year. Our 8 year old loved it and hoping to get a bunch of her friends and family out for this special holiday treat.
The Georgian is grand with its chandeliers and old world design/architecture. The restaurant is quiet and open and quite spacious. The food is very good and the service is excellent. The tea selection experience was very unique. The Georgian is a great choice for a special occasion or holiday activity.
My daughter and I enjoyed an after Christmas Afternoon Tea. Not too noisy so we could hear each other talk.
Nice atmosphere. Felt like we were pampered!
Fancy lunch with my coworker
Enjoyed a delicious Christmas Tea with my Granddaughter....The decorations were Beautiful!
The biggest downside to Tea at the Georgian in December is their failure to disclose, either via Open Table or their own website, that they have an arbitrary table time limit, after which, in their opinion, you must leave. I learned of this when they called to confirm the reservation I made via Open Table a couple of days before the event. While they reasonably-quickly backed off when I protested, I still find their behavior reprehensible. That said, once we got there, we had a wonderful time, the service was great, we didn't 'overstay' too long, and have happy memories of the day. If they want to continue this kind of 'rule', they need to be more open from the get-go.
We like to do High Tea at the Holidays. We enjoyed the food & experience better in 2017. I was looking forward to the yummy sandwiches but was really disappointed in the selection and quality in 2018. The breads seemed dry and we missed the egg salad. The desserts were also sub par this year.
For the price, I expected much better quality. Will find a new place for High Tea in 2019. Sorry Fairmont but sadly disappointed. Even the valet was overpriced $27 for 2 hours (!) and they were unfriendly. If I'm spending $400 on Tea for 4 parking should be included!
Bland food. Only enjoyed a couple of the selected sandwiches. For starters we had a very underwhelming glass of blueberries with a few strawberries. It could have done with some sorbet to make it special. The server tried to give this to twice. When we got our food waiter never came back to ask how we were doing. The price for four of us was $350 for a couple of finger sandwiches scones some little cakes and tea. Not worth it. Queen Nary tea room is so much better
A bill for $88.00 EACH for “Holiday Tea” plus a cup of coffee! Tea sandwiches (4 small) were old - bread dry on edges and filling dry on edges. About 15 berries : 3 raspberries, a cut strawberry, and the rest sour blueberries. Dry pastry- 2 tiny- with frosting and one ginger snap (soft-stale). The bark candy was good.
Service good, ambience good, but wish I had ordered a salad (always good here) from the menu!
Parking was $27.00, a tip was $20 ( not waitperson’s fault) so a unfortunate pricey experience. My companion paid the same and was more displeased with her food (did not eat most of it after a bite).
