Nestled inside the Royal Botanical Garden, the Gateway Restaurant prides itself on its local heritage and serves fresh Scottish cuisine created exclusively from local meats and produce. Head Chef Ben Harrison has designed a menu to capture the flavour of the surrounding countryside, with a menu that includes such items as Scottish venison and pork sausages. Located inside the Royal Botanical Gardens, the restaurant is separated from the gardens only by a 30 metre glass wall with French doors. During the autumn, The Gateway is able to forage its own grounds for seasonal favourites. Ben's crab apple jelly is a popular offering. Open daily from 10am, The Gateway has a relaxed, open air atmosphere where visitors to the garden can enjoy al fresco refreshment while taking in the serenity of the surrounding landscape. Afterwards, a stroll the gardens is only metres away.
