The Gates on Roblin Ratings and Reviews
This was an outstanding Sunday Brunch. Food, service, ambience, entertainment, had these in spades and more. Lots of easy parking and the country atmosphere made for great window scenery. Missed seeing the horses but you can't have everything! If you are coming for brunch I recommend staying away from your table the evening and morning before, you won't go hungry here. The selections are plentiful and amazing!! What a great way to spend some quality time with your family or friends. There was no rushing us out by the staff and even at 3:00 P.M. you could still be eating and that is after a 2:00 P.M. closing.
We came here to celebrate our friend getting married. I've been here for the brunch and it was great! But we were so disappointed with the dinner. The waitress was rather cold. She didn't bother telling us about the specials, we found out from the other tables. The bride ordered the salmon but had to send it back as it was really salty. All in all, I found that everything was just expensive and not of the same quality that we had at their brunches. We ended up going elsewhere for dessert. So brunches are great, but would not recommend for dinners.
I was very disappointed in the brunch. The waffles were so dried out, and just tasted awful. Cold food was warm, hot food was cold, and the service was mediocre at best. My son is only 10 and was charged full price until I had to point it out to my server. She said 12 and under were discounted. There is no way my 10 year old looks 13 or older. Perhaps the servers should be trained to ask rather than have to be corrected by the guests. The whole experience rubbbed me the wrong way.
Went for Sunday brunch with wife and kids; we had been there for brunch in previous years, and went for the large food selection and to see the horses.
Horses weren't there, food selection was decent, but not great, food quality was decent but not great, service wasn't great. Overall, nothing terrible about this place, but nothing special either. This makes it a poor value.
The staff were very friendly, polite and efficient. The food was good, with a wide variety, unfortunately too much for us to try every type. I guess that means we will have to return, and perhaps bring some family. The roast beef was melt in the mouth good, and so were the breaded shrimp. There was noise but certainly not unbearable noise as there were families with children, and after all it wasn't a funeral.
