Only ones in restaurant for anniversary dinner. Server was polite and efficient but not real friendly. Food was good but nothing to write home about.
The setting is gorgeous and the ambience and quality of the food was amazing.
We had a relaxing time in the ambient atmosphere! The food was absolutely delicious!
This place is fantastic! Definitely sit outside if the weather is nice. Stunning views of the golf course and beautiful sunset. The ambiance is like nothing else! Food was very good, staff was professional and personable. One of my favorite places in Callaway. We will be back!
Wine list was way overpriced and they did not carry nice bottles for fine dining. Steak was over cooked.
My husband and I enjoyed the overall experience however our steak was so drowned in garlic butter and salt we couldn’t eat it!! The vegetables were good! My husband only took 2 bites off his steak! I choked down 2 myself!!
Really disapointed in the chef and how our steak was prepared. My husbands first visit there and he probably won’t go back. I really hate that because it was our evening out and we Went through the Christmas lights and made reservations for dinner in advance. I have been to the restaurant on several occasions in the past for holiday suppers it was superb with the most delicious well prepared food, excellent service, beautiful ambiance with the fireplace and Christmas tree. This time was a terrible disappointment in our steak!
I’m so sorry I usually give a glowing review but not this time.

We went for a birthday. The food and service was amazing. I highly recommend this beautiful restaurant
Great food and excellent service.
For thanksgiving with grandmother and family. Staff was very accommodating after we were delayed with fantasy in lights shuttle. Great dinner and ambiance.
Exquisitely and impeccably delectable. Our server, Sybil, was the best. Highly recommend.
We anticipated good food and were pleasantly surprised to get an outstanding dinner. Very good service, too
Food was outstanding as well as the service. Felt it was a little pricey.
The Gardens Restaurant is Callaway Garden’s best kept culinary secret. The Gardens restaurant offers superb cuisine and outstanding ring service, in an atmosphere of elegant warmth and comfort. It overlooks the Lakeview course, with expansive vistas of the beautiful scenery for which Callaway is noted. We’ve on multiple occasions dined here, and each experience has been excellent in every way. Most strongly recommended!
This restaurant is on the high end, in terms of cost. Portions were not large. My husband believes the shrimp made him sick (they tasted very "fishy"). Will not return.
The food was delicious as usual. My husband did not receive the meal that he ordered, but he ate it anyway. The waiter seemed to be very temperamental. He was pleasant at first, but then appeared to be unfriendly. I think there may have been a miscommunication.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The menu has never been disappointing. The Chilean Sea Bass and pumpkin risotto was beautifully prepared and was absolutely delicious. The shrimp and pasta prepared in a cream sauce was velvety smooth. The best was the fried cheesecake sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and served with berries and cream. We look forward to a return visit.
The food was wonderful, service and wine were good too. The thing is, the website had the Fall menu and I had my head set on something different, but when we arrived the menu was the Spring menu. Really? Sept 14 is hardly Spring, granted 6 days shy of fall beginning but why put it on the website? For that they get the lesser stars. Food was good though
Good experience overall. Some dusting for the outside seating would go a long way.
The restaurant has a beautiful deck and is fantastic to enjoy the evening sunset. Inside is so quiet, to the point that it is uncomfortable. Although the menu list some unique dishes, the roasted chicken outshined the lamb and salmon dishes. The restaurant really tries to service their customers but it doesn’t take much to overwhelm the wait staff.
Our biggest issue came not as a restaurant issue but one from how Callaway Garden manages the park at night.
Our experience was on a Saturday evening of Labor Day weekend. In the beach their were hot air balloons, live music, and a fireworks show. We had unlimited passes to the park. But all the gates internal to the park were closed and locked restricting any nighttime in park access to venues that we had paid to enter. Off the main road the beach entrance was also closed. Shame on you Callaway Gardens. We felt and still feel taken advantage of. Will see how the Garden addresses this issue.
So the restaurant was weak and the park did not finish well for us. Like being taken to the dance but told you can’t come in.

The staff were doing an awesome job, we had a wonderful view of the golf course and the food was very good. The food was served hot and the plate was fixed very nice. We will definitely be back.
Great food and service!
My husband and I chose The Gardens while staying at Callaway. We had a wonderful dinner and the service couldn’t have been better.
Have been going there for years...it’s always a treat.
The waiter was not friendly. We asked to split a tomato salad and he left it in a large bowl and stacked the plates next to the salad? Did not remember who ordered what, only 6 people were in the group. Worst example of a server I have seen in years.
Very expensive and no service. Not a good match. The food was ok not great tasting. It does not appear to be well managed.
Amazing peaceful dinner. Great food great atmosphere.
We were so ready to enjoy this restaurant based on how they describe themselves on the website. We were so disappointed with what we actually got. We paid fine-dining prices for Applebee's-caliber food. Each time the server left a plate they warned us it was hot; neither the plates nor any of the food on them was actually hot. It was all slightly-more-than-room-temperature. We searched for a 7:00 reservation on OpenTable; could only get a 7:30. Not sure why--we walked in and there were maybe a half dozen occupied tables, counting both indoors and out. By the time we were served our entrees, we just wanted to leave.
A beautiful setting for a first date, dinner before sunset on the patio overlooking a verdant golf course. Service was discreet and attentive. Food was superb. After dinner took a walk on the golf course before dusk. After sunset, the fireworks were a perfect ending. Second date was easy to plan! M&J
My wife and I went to the Gardens Restaurant for our anniversary. The atmosphere was very romantic. The views were spectacular. The golf course was lush and green and the lake was very beautiful. The service was great and the food was excellent. The prices are a little on the high side, but that's normal for a venue like this and was fine for our special occasion. We would recommend this place to anyone seeking a quite romantic dinner.
Had not been here for a while. Lots of nice options in Columbus these days and 30 minutes for dinner is a bit of a hike. That said, we had a lovely meal here Saturday night. Nice Italian red wine, heirloom tomato salad and scallops for an appetizer (both lovely), shrimp pappardelle and lamb rack for entree (the one point I took away for food was due the fact that lamb was a bit past the medium that I asked for), both delicious. Flourless chocolate cake, fudgey yum. Sybille provided excellent, low key service. Looking forward to returning soon...
Beautiful setting, wonderful food and great service.
Setting is fabulous when you're seated outside. Quite beautiful with entertaining views of 10th hole. Food is fair. Would highly recommend for lunch (in season). Dinner prices would be a little hard to swallow since the quality of our menu selections wouldn't have justified the dinner dollar amounts. That said, the outdoor seating ambience is hard to beat.
One of the best meals I ever had.
Went to The Gardens as we wanted something more upscale. While the restaurant could probably use some updating, for the most part dinner was fine. Our waiter was a little distracted (brought a full dish of butter when there was no bread on the table) and really had no sense of humor when we mentioned it. Wine list was lacking, especially the wines available by the glass. Overall, I'd just give this an average rating...nothing special.
My husband and I visit Callaway Gardens every year for our anniversary. I was excited to see the Gardens Restaurant was open for lunch this past weekend. The staff was very welcoming. The food was amazing. We had the crab cake salad and it was extremely delicious. I highly recommend eating at the Gardens Restaurant. I know we will be back.
Food was ok, though I'm left wondering: Why have a dress code you do not enforce? Why is the menu at the restaurant not what I see on Open Table?
Hardly worth the price paid and would not recommend.
Can’t comment on the food. No one would come seat us and we had reservations.
Over all the stay and experience was wonderful. Would recommend making the food more tasty. Waitress were wonderful and responsive.
The food was good, not great. Not enough seafood items on the menu. Chef didn't understand some issues, but was not a big thing. Service was outstanding.
Bit expensive but excellent service and very good food
The staff was most accommodating since we had time constraints and had to leave restaurant by 7:00 pm. We had talked to staff earlier in the day and they had assured us that we would be served in time to return to Lodge in plenty of time. That was exactly what they did with a pleasant and gracious attitude and professional manner. The chef was also most agreeable since one appetizer order was sent to kitchen a little late. The food was delicious and the presentation was very attractive and pleasing. Our server was excellent.
