The Garden View Restaurant - Oregon Garden Resort
As you walk in the entrance you will see The Oregon Garden and the valley stretched out before you. Tables are set to ensure that all guests can see the spectacular view through the large windows which run the length of the restaurant.
Outdoor dining is available on the patio and pets are allowed in the outside dining area.
The room and staff were great, also the dinning was excellent The only down side was the it rained ,so we will be back...too much to see!
The restaurant has to options, seating outside on a patio, which is great on warm evenings or seating indoors with a very nice view of the whole garden. Our server was very nice and and provided recommendations when asked to help me make up my mind. the food was great, and the portions were ample. If you're looking to cap off a late afternoon at the Gardens this is nice place to have a quiet dinner with a great view and tasty food.
Wonderful location and some of the best service I have ever received. Drove over an hour to get here and I will definitely be back!
For vegetarians, this menu is lacking choice. Mushroom ravioli that was flavorless, lemon chicken pasta without the chicken, black bean burger with jalapeños or a squash noodle pasta.
Beautiful view, exceptional service. Wonderful experience.
So relaxing! Great food, amazing view! We can't wait to return!
good food good service
nothing but the best as always
The view is spectacular! The service was very good. Attentive and informative without hovering.
The food was good. We had an Asian tuna special (a little over cooked), the surf and turf and the mushroom ravioli.
The surf and turf was good and cooked to order, the chimchurri sauce was perfect and fresh. A better cut of meat would make this dish spectacular.
The ravioli were cooked perfectly and the mi of forest mushrooms was really nice.
The wine list leaves a lot to be desired. While I’m a big fan of serving local where available there should also be some up sell by the glass wines.
I recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner out. I hope they will do corkage for my next visit!!
We made on line reservations and were seated immediately. All of our experiences with the wait staff were excellent. Our food was served in a timely mannner and was very tasty. We had stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and shared a full rack of ribs.
The food was great, the service was prompt and friendly. This was our second visit and we'll be back again next year.
The server was very professional and attentive. That made the whole experience even better.
Sara was a fantastic hostess! Took wonderful care of us and made my wife the best Mai Tai ever! We started with a cheese plate, the server just dropped it off at the table and walked off. Didn't tell us what anything was. The dinner entree's were okay. The meat was not seasoned well at all. It's hard to mess up a baked potato and seasonal veggies. They were alright too. Pass on dessert, it was a waste of money. We had dusty cob webs fall on us during dinner. Needs to be cleaned more often. But again, Sara made it a good night.
My husbands steak was very tough and my dinner was so salty.
The service is fantastic and very accommodating. My husband ordered the surf and turf which the menu said came with a tenderloin steak. The steak he got was not even a decent sirloin, it was tuff and full of fibrous tissue. At $32 we expected something much better. The staff quickly responded by offering a different meal. I ordered the seafood trio which the menu said was scallops, prawns and lobster. The scallops and prawns were good, but it was hard to find the lobster. There were tiny little pieces that did not even taste like lobster. Be wary of what you order there.
The food was very good. The coconut encrudted shrimp was excellent. The service was attentive, but we felt as if we needed to hurry as the waiter came by multiple times after we said we were in no hurry.. A bread plate was provided, butvthe bread was sliced paper thin. The staff addressed that by bring more bread. A member discount was also extended.
When we placed our reservation online we were asked if this was a special occasion. We noted that it was our anniversary, but there was no mention of the special occasion. There just seemed to be an intangible feeling of apathy to the evening.
A really good compliment to the resort
And the gardens!!!
Our waiter was the best! He helped by answering all our questions - very knowledgeable!
The food was excellent as always the hostess and server were great as always
We enjoyed the quiet, relaxing atmosphere in early spring. I love that we could hear each other without having to compete with excessive noise. Ahhh. This was a place to slow down and take our time; we were not rushed (reservation at 6:30pm on a Saturday). The vegetable side (zucchini mix) was cooked perfectly, and the appetizer bread was salty yet delicious. The mashed potatoes were too runny. I had the pork medallions and my husband had the surf and turf with added shrimp. We were both satisfied but not amazed.
Be aware that "dress" everything up with unusual creams and toppings. Some combos make since and some are "just trying to hard to be gourmet". We have the surf and turf and the Steak with Shrimp (this is not the surf and turf) the veggies were greasy. The house White Zin was fabulous! The bread was ok-there is no salad or soup with your entree so if you want it be sure to ask-our server did not tell us so we did not get a salad.
Now our server was pretty hands off- because he read our table very well. We didn't want to be bothered and he could tell and we appreciated that!
Excellent food with excellent service. We asked for dessert to go and failed to bring the forks. The woman at the front desk went back and got them for us - beautiful experience all the way around.
Always friendly service and great food. Atmosphere is relaxing.
Excellent food and service in an inviting atmosphere, staff is friendly and prompt and eager to serve. During our dinner, power was out due to a storm and the staff went above and beyond to ensure continued excellent service.
Seafood was soggy and greasy. Steak was over cooked, possibly because it was too thin.
Breakfast was 5 star!!
We love staying at the Oregon Garden Resort, but the dinner served at the restaurant does not match the quality of the resort.
The real bright spot was the service, OUTSTANDING.
The waitstaff, bartender, and the manager were really wonderful. Everyone made sure we always had full glasses of water and anything we needed for an enjoyable dinner, with the exception of the food.
Beautiful: we love coming here. This time, however, my soup was tepid and had a surprisingly small amount of soup in it: perhaps equal to or less than the cup my friend had. Tepid chicken noodle soup is not great. My salad was 3 miniature tomatoes, iceberg lettuce with a leaf or two of "good lettuce" and a tiny bit of julienned carrots. Unremarkable.
I was brought a wonderfully delicious slice of a flourless type cake for my birthday--the highlight of the meal!! (Thank you!). And btw, when a lovely restaurant serves soup, a bit of bread and butter are standard--I was given a plate of loose crackers of some kind, no butter. Really an unusually unclassy meal for such a beautiful place.
We had a lovely time. We've already recommended it to friends!
This is the second time we have come to The Oregon Garden for dinner and spending the night. We enjoy the food and the quiet, private rooms. The food was good and service was great.
My only suggestion would be that the windows looked like someone's child had been up to the windows and left finger marks. It was at the booth for dinner and for breakfast. Every thing else was great.
We ordered the NY Steak Dinner. The steak was tough. The baked potato was very small and very over cooked. So disappointing for an expensive dinner.
I wasnt impressed with my food. I felt it was very bland or over cooked. However, they could cook my boyfriend's steak perfectly. Because of that I'd recommend them. Could have been an off night.
I LOVED the pork belly and shrimp rissoto. That alone made the dinner worth it. The seafood trio had no lobster or maybe a bite of it? The creme brule came in all different sizes and no fruit included like listed on the menu. Ambience was nice and waiter was very nice.
The Oregon Garden Resort is a luxurious place to dine, even in the off-season. The wait staff is attentive, the food delectable however, a drive to the Oregon Garden Resort is never disappointing. Escape the city and savor the expanse of farm fields still honoring the Oregon tradition of growing crops for our consumption. Inhale the sweet fresh air once you've left congestion behind & mosey through the quaint town of Silverton until you reach your breathtaking destination. It is a true blessing that we have such a therapeutic (& delicious) escape so close to the madding crowd. Go often. Treat yourself!
It has an amazing view and the service and food were good.
Excellent food in a lovely setting! Great for an anniversary celebration with an overnight stay at the resort.
Nice menu selection. We ate there with friends two evenings in a row while staying at the resort, and tried pretty much everything on the menu. Everything was quite good! We all enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates for an appetizer which were excellent!
Was there for lunch and menu is very limited. The food was tasty, not special. Prices okay. We were in a room with two other patrons who were on high volume. From where we were sitting, not much of a view for a "Garden View" restaurant. The service was exceptional. I would go again to try dinner.
Great food, service was excellent even though they were clearly understaffed. We were dining in February, so it was in off-season; I'm not faulting them for low staffing levels. Our waiter was running between the dining room and the bar delivering food and still did an excellent job. We will be back!
I booked a reservation on open table for 8:45 pm when arriving with my date on Valentine's day for our date they let us know that they were closed... Really a way to mess up a romantic Valentine's date. We were only about 5 to 10 min late. This will explain my review ratings
Very enjoyable evening for us. Matt answered our questions and took good care of us. We had the seafood dinner with garlic mashed and squash for veggies. The shrimp, lobster and scallops were cooked to perfection.
Valentines date. Then we banged hard.
