The Garden View Restaurant - Oregon Garden Resort
As you walk in the entrance you will see The Oregon Garden and the valley stretched out before you. Tables are set to ensure that all guests can see the spectacular view through the large windows which run the length of the restaurant.
Outdoor dining is available on the patio and pets are allowed in the outside dining area.
Everything about our dining experience at The Garden View was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, the view of the Christmas Lights in the Garden were stunning but best of all was the delicious food. The portion of the seafood fettucine was large and loaded with seafood. The mushroom and steak dish was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend The Garden View Restaurant. It was a delightful evening and dining experience, kudos to the chef and staff.
The food quality has vastly improved over the past few years! And so has the service, which used to be rather slow and inattentive.
We got together with friends for a holiday outing this past weekend at the Resort. I made reservations ahead of time we arrived and the restaurant was nearly empty. Our party of 5 was taken way in the back corner to a booth for 4 with a chair on the end. VERY cramped and uncomfortable. They have a good menu to choose from so we were excited. Our dinners arrived one wrong, one the steak looked unappetizing (I personally wouldn’t have served it from the kitchen) but the other three were correct and looked good. I found my meal to be o.k., nothing memorable. The steak was wonderfully tender and cooked perfectly, but not well seasoned. My friends unappealing steak was flat, dry looking and over cooked. The others in our party enjoyed their meals just fine. Our waiter was nice, attentive enough, but was on break when we arrived so took over the table once we had ordered drinks. He did a good job, but something should be done about his appearance. He looked unkept, on the dirty side, flannel shirt, long pony tail and unkept beard. More like someone that would be working behind the bar in the rustic lounge, not serving food to guests. Overall, not a bad meal since you are captive in the resort, but could use attention.
Took over an hour after ordering to get our food and then several items missing from order (salad, fries). Underwhelming food when it finally arrived.
We wanted to like the restaurant but the only redeeming quality was its location. The waitress was there to get the order and to drop the check. No attendance in between. The meal was overcooked and cold. The place seemed chaotic and disorganized for only being half occupied by patrons. The price was what you would expect for a hotel restaurant, sadly the same was not true for the service or the food quality.
Dinner wine package was good option. Any entree plus bottle of wine. The Thanksgiving buffet was good. Our 1 pm reservation was closer to 2 pm. Long line to register and then spent a long time in the lounge waiting. We felt the buffet was smaller this year but still had a lot of good choices.
We already have recommended the restaurant to our friends and we plan on making it a tradition every year for us.
The absolute best. Service, wonderful. Adrienne for the second year in a row was the reason this was our favorite time at this restaurant. What a treasure. The food has clearly been upgraded and it has always been outstanding. Love this place, just love it.
The Garden View Restaurant never disappoints. The steak Oscar was superb
Always great. Food and service are always very good. We have eaten there probably 10 times and it is consistent
The food was absolutely amazing. The service was quick and great.
Adrienne, as always, was very friendly and helpful.
Fabulous food, fabulous location, great service. Can’t wait to revisit this wonderful place.
We ate both dinner and breakfast at the Garden View -- and enjoyed both. The view is, indeed, magnificent.
For dinner, we started with bacon-wrapped dates and a bottle of zinfandel. My wife enjoyed an entree of pork medallions while I ate a New York steak. Both were accompanied by baked potatoes and sauteed zucchini/summer squash. For dessert, we split a wine-poached pear.
Breakfast was a nice buffet with many good choices, including waffles, eggs, sausages, fruit, yogurt, toast, fruit compotes, croissants, juices and muffins.
La mejor estadia . Perfecto para celebrar aniversarios
Stayed with a coupon, dinner was included, so value is more about the package vs. dinner alone. Food was delicious, great service. Very friendly staff.
Great food for a great price! Thank you
Very good service, excellent food. Just a bit pricey.
Had two breakfasts and two dinners here. Breakfast buffet was good for an included breakfast. Dinner was very tasty, but smaller portions.
Excellent food and selection. The service was good and we did not have to wait.
We were disappointed in the food we received for our dinners. We were the 3rd table to be seated when they opened, but the amount of time it took for us to receive our meals was not acceptable. The Beet Carpaccio Salad, was beautiful, but the beets were so UNDERCOOKED that I used a knife to cut them. They were only 1/4" thick, so was surprised that a knife was required. When our entrees arrived, there was UNDERCOOKED bacon wrapped on the scallops, AND way UNDERCOOKED green beans on the plate. They tasted like they were right from the vine and never cooked at all. Yuk. The steak that my husband orders as medium came to him as well done...overcooked. We were just shocked that for such a fine restaurant the quality of food was so poor. I honestly don't think their chef had ever sampled the food before sending it out to the tables.
Always a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area
The food laked appeal. I got the Surf and Turf with mashed potatoes and vegetables. My only complane was the vegetables. Zero effort was make in making which was truly dissapointing. But the steak was very well prepared. The Hollandaise sauce was too thin for my taste .
This is a great place to have a delicious dinner and enjoy the view of the garden.
The food is fabulous. I had a mushroom pasta with spinach and a coulette steak.
We love coming here for a getaway!
Nice lunch but rather expensive for what was provided. The service was slow. The dessert was vastly overpriced. $10 for a mediocre brownie with about two tablespoons of ice cream and a teaspoon of carmel.
Such a lovely environment to have a special occasion. The menu is always interesting with great selection.
Excellent service and delicious food. We were amazed and pleased that everything was so wonderful for our special night. We’ll definitely return in the future.
Service, as always, was very good. Food was better than expected. Cocktails were 'slightly off'. The changes in the entire experience are worth noting. Thank you Kim for your effort!
Favourite place, sixth time this year,
Busy place this occasion.......
Our first time there and we were not disappointed. DELICIOUS foods. Gluten free and vegan options were a plus and tasted AMAZING.
Food was fine, service was exemplary, décor could use a refresh. There are beautiful photos of the gardens and surrounding areas in the lobby - would be nice to see the same thing in the restaurant and lose the dated old furniture store art....
Great for a romantic evening.
Great service. Wine list needs a bit of work
The food was very good, but I will say all the wait staff was out standing no complaints, they did a very good job
My entree was cold, but the restaurant manager compensated me. Service was good, beautiful location. If I wasn’t a guest at the resort, doubt I would’ve eaten at The Garden View. Breakfast buffet was awful. Total chaos, poor service. When I arrived at 0830 for breakfast, the buffet as picked over, nothing much left. I just left. Definitely not worth the trip to this restaurant, unless you’re a guest atbhe resort...in which case, you might be stuck.
Good food, good company!
Very good food at a good price. View of the Oregon Garden from all tables. Very pleasant Server and hostess. Would recommend to anyone.
I made reservations a few days a head and you stuck us in the very last booth with no view at all and I’d mentioned the occasion was my daughters birthday . Which you never made note of. Service was good and food was ok and prices a little high.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner for two. It was included in our overnight package deal so we were delighted with the great value. However we felt the full menu pricing would have been quite high for what we got. The restaurant was very, very busy when we arrived and the staff were struggling to keep up. We waited about 30 minutes for our appetizers, and of course, our meals arrived shortly thereafter. Our server was kind enough to remove the cost of the appetizer since we didn't eat most of it until after our main course! We also appreciated the option of paying a little extra to upgrade our complimentary bottle of wine.
WIne list is lacking any scale and quality---we tried their $65 bottle and it was terrible. The food was over salted. The seafood however was cooked perfectly unfortunately the sauce was horrible. We love Oregon Garden and have had great meals in Silverton down town eateries. Too bad for Oregon Garden restaurant.
Had a very nice dinner experience of seafood pasta in a light cream sauce along with a shrimp cobb salad. Service was very good, but a bit casual, e.g. bill came long before we were done eating. Didn’t really bother me as every other part of the service was great.
