Great ambiance and view of the downtown area. Quality dishes were prepared and served quickly.
Menu could be a little larger and a complimentary dinner salad and/or soup with the entree would have made a more complete meal.
The views from the restaurant are amazing! It overlooks the Salt Lake City temple, part of downtown, and mountains. The food is good and the inside of the restaurant is pretty too.
Dinner was no distraction to visiting with guest. Service was excellent.
Opentable SUCKS for making a reservation. They say “I” canceled my reservation. Call the restaurant directly. Don’t deal with Opentable save yourself some time.
It seemed as though the staff were happy to have us our their guests. They were attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious.
First time there. We eat early in the day for dinner and we made reservations for 4:00. We were literally the only ones there. Nice. Quiet. Good food and good service. I will go there again, and most likely would be around the same time of the day. It was great.
It was still fun, but I had said we were there for my friends birthday, and they didn’t do anything for that. I had also requested to sit by the window so we could see the temple and they didn’t accommodate that when I could clearly see a table that would have fit our group us by the window. Our waitress was good, but she didn’t smile much, so we felt like she was annoyed with us the whole time. However the drinks, rolls and food were quite good. Still a fun experience, I just wish they would have accommodated us a little better since we were out for a special occasion.
Very good food and restaurant. Service was a little low and I wished we were checked on more because we weren’t checked on and never got our drinks refilled or asked if our food was good. Other than that’s great experience.
This is my favorite place to eat for special occasions next to my home. I love to see the Temple and the grounds and everything about the Joseph Smith Building. However, I liked the white chairs better.
The server, Brad, was the worst service I have ever had. We waited 20 minutes, he apologized his break was too long. Took our drink orders when he came back had no idea which glass contained what, so we tasted them and figured it out. After another employee reminded him our food was up he brought it. He dropped the fish on the floor and kicked it to the side. After we were finished eating, he stood on the piece of fish while handing my husband a new piece. Unfortunately this was my daughters graduation dinner with family from 4 states completely ruined. When my husband asked for a manager, she was too busy to speak to him. Brad offered to pay for our drinks. 3 waters and 3 sodas.
Food was excellent. Was on a corporate lunch break with out of town clients. If you're looking for a unique lunch experience in downtown SLC, this is the place...no pun intended! Service was great, restaurant was clean, portions were perfect size, everything was wonderful! Parked at the City Creek shopping center which is just a short walk (1-2 blocks) which actually added to the occasion due to being able to take a short tour of the area, pointing out some of the history, temple square, etc. Highly recommend!!
Great service, good food, unbelievable view!
Nice view, but overall mediocre food and service. Probably wouldn't come back if I were in town again
Server was extremely patient and helpful; food was excellent.
Thank you so much for all your help, my anniversary was a success thanks to all of you!!
The view was fantastic and the food even more so. The setting was very nice as well. The restaurant is a pleasant place to be.
Lots of hard surfaces in this restaurant creating LOTS of noise.
The food was delicious, we had a great server and were in and out in a timely manner.
I will go again, but will do so when traffic in the restaurant is low.
such delicious food - excellent flavors - sandwiches and salads are incredible. the staff was great. service was great. we love eating here. nice for special occasions.
Food had too much sugar and butter on it.
Very good restaurant. We were there and many kids there for Prom Night.
Nice view. Food options are basic but tasty.
Awesome food!! Spectacular view!! Wonderful service!!
My wife and I took some dear friends visiting from Memphis, TN to this establishment for dinner and were not impressed. Unknown to me at the time, my guest had eaten lunch here on the same day. He said the prices were high and the food was mediocre. After eating dinner there I couldn't agree more.
Host was on cell phone while I waited to be noticed to be checked in.
Drinks were slow to be refilled.
Host did not check in to pitch in for waiters for things such as water, salad dressing, or ketchup.
Had to walk up to ask for check and to go container.
There is never enough salad dressing.
Atmosphere was nice. Great view. Nice people but I've had better service there.
I love the view. The food is good. The service was slow and lousy and the lady didn’t keep our drinks refilled. Then we were forced to pay 18% gratuity which she did not earn.
The view of the temple is absolutely beautiful though!
Love the open air feel when the roof is slid back. Walls of windows on the West and South sides give great views of SLC from the restaurant located atop the Joesph Smith Memorial Bldg. Food was presented beautifully and service was excellent. The salmon was excellent as was the large nut and berry salad. This is a wonderful place to go!
We had a fantastic experience dining at The Garden Restaurant! They made us feel like kings! The food was fantastic, truly a fine dining experience. The views were wonderful! They even opened the roof which made the experience beautiful. The service was wonderful, I only have good things to say. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great fine dining experience. I’ve had much more expensive meals that weren’t nearly as good. 5 stars!
Thank you for the fast, great service. Thank you for adding to our fun day.
The food was wonderful and of great value. Of course the views from the Garden Restaurant can't be beat anywhere, and my friends from out of state were taken with how beautiful view of the Temple Grounds were. Our waitress was very willing to answer questions about the menu, offered to take our picture, and was always smiling and helpful. I have been to this place a few times, and it always delights.
The restaurant had a great view of the square. The best part of the meal were the light, fluffy rolls that are complementary.
It was a bit chaotic when we arrived due to a prom night. But the check in just seemed disorganized. I had made a reservation. The food was delicious and the view is spectacular. It was a nice experience.
We went to the garden room for the first time and it has a beautiful view of the city, of the temple and the temple grounds. The food was SO SO. The spinach artichoke dip was amazing, just thought they could have put a little more artichokes in it. The croutons in the ceasar salad were cornbread style croutons. Kinda different. I ordered the chicken and it came bone in which I thought was a little different for a nicer restaurant. All in all, it's worth the experience to have the view while you eat.
Wonderful 10th floor dining room with a spectacular view of the downtown area, including the LDS Temle grounds !!
Friendly Staff & attentive service with a great menu !!
Great place to catch a nice meal. Service was fantastic. Food was excellent. We will be back.
I like this restaurant a lot, but the waitress I had that night couldn’t help me with my food allergy. I got immediately sick after eating my meal because there was dairy in the meal, even though I explained very clearly that I was allergic. The steak was too rare, and overall I was disappointed with the service and food quality.
Very fast and friendly service. The whole restaurant was extremely clean and tidy.
So delicious!!! The staff is amazing and the view is beautiful!
The food was delicious and fresh. We ordered a spinach & artichoke dip which was fabulous. A berry salad which was also larger than expected and delicious. The chicken dish was good too. The shrimp macaroni was under-whelming. I was expecting more depth of flavor and thought the sauce was a little watery. The waitress seemed a little distracted that day and I had to request an item a couple times before it was brought to our table. Despite the restaurant only being about 1/3 full it was pretty noisy and it was easy to overhear others conversations all around us. The set up and view was beautiful
The view at sunset was beautiful! My berry and pecan salad was fresh and flavorful. Stephanie, our server, was attentive and efficient. Noise level was louder than I would have liked, especially since we went specifically for the view and had hoped for a quieter atmosphere. Did not care for the stainless steel table, and would have preferred having a tablecloth.
I had the steak and my Wife had the pasta. Her pasta was great but the steak was awful. Way too much pepper in everything! Acoustics were terrible but the staff was very friendly. We might give them a second chance but it was a very disappointing dinner for our 17th Wedding Anniversary.
