The salmon salad is awesome! I had it last night and came back to have it again tonight.
Friendly and attentive service. Bright and pretty ambiance. Great view of Temple Square.
The restaurant was nice. View and service was great. My steak was not so much. My cut of meat was over looked at some point and had so much connective tissue that half the steak went to waste because I could cut or chew it. And just kinda ruined the whole meal total. And was upset that it cost over 50.00 for my and my wife.
This was a delightful place to eat! We were celebrating my friend’s birthday and enjoyed the note on the table telling her Happy Birthday. Our waitress was very efficient and friendly. We arrived at 11:00 am as it opened and had the restaurant to ourselves for the first 30 minutes. The food was plentiful and flavorful. The view was also a huge plus!
The ambience and warmth of this restaurant can’t be beat, as it overlooks Temple Square and the sparkling city. The staff was friendly and accommodating, though our appetizers did not come more than a few minutes before the dinner. The food was good, appropriate for the price range, and since we were in good company the evening overall was beautiful and memorable.
As always, we enjoyed our meal at The Garden. The food is really good, if a little pricey, but it's worth it. The portions are large, and they give you all-you-can-eat Lion House rolls! You won't go away hungry. We had a reservation and had to wait a little longer than I might have expected, but it wasn't horribly long. We didn't get a table by the window, but a table right next to ours opened up moments after we sat. I wish they would have asked if we'd prefer to wait another 5 minutes to sit there. Otherwise, it was great.
We never got seated.
The hostess was not impressed that we were early, by 15 minutes, checked our reservation and made us wait until the reservation time. I could clearly see several open tables. I felt scolded for arriving early.
I waited until 2 minutes past our reservation time, watching two other couples be seated ahead us, before leaving. With such a poor display of customer service, I didn't want to see how bad the service could be beyond the doorway.
The first impression speaks a lot for what is ahead in any restaurant experience. I received two texts on the way out of the building, the second text had a phone number attached to it. I called the number with the intention of talking to a manager. It took nearly 20 minutes before I was able to speak with a real person.
The manager explained that they wanted to seat us by a window, for our special occasion which I indicted on the initial online reservation. This was never mentioned to me, and could have been explained to me by the hostess. However, I don't recall any movement of patrons leaving the restaurant.
If you're not going to have patience with me for arriving early, I'm going to have zero patience with you if I'm not seated on time and not a minute late.
I hope this helps in making future patron's experiences more enjoyable.
As always, this a very nice relaxed place to enjoy an evening meal with friends. Good food with a reasonable selection and of course a great view.
Disappointing. We chose this restaurant for overseas friend to have an authentic bbq experience.
The meat was ok. Ribs were probably the best value. Sides of mashed potato and collard greens were cold, as were the french fries. The server clearly wasn't happy I asked for them to be replaced and I had nearly finished my meal before they came back.
The server was very unattentive. We didn't see her for a long time and then she came with the check. Didn't even ask if we wanted dessert!
I wouldn't rush back there.
We really enjoyed the view and our food was good, but there were a few things that we were disappointed with...
Our food, while delicious, took a very long time to come, and there was never any offer to get us more rolls while we waited, beyond the initial 1 per person we were given when we first sat down. In fact, it seemed like our waiter kind of tried to avoid us so we wouldn't ask for more.
Our water was never refilled and we all ran out and wished for more.
Our meals, while delicious, weren't totally filling. Again, a second roll while we waited would have helped with this, but instead we left still feeling a little bit hungry. It was a nice dinner, but we didn't leave feeling like we got a great value for our money.
The menu has become very restricted from what we have experienced in the past. Because of this we probably will not return again. we live in Cedar Hills and so it is about 45 miles to downtown Salt Lake City. Driving that far and having such a limited menu is not worth it.
Love the view, the food and the service. So peaceful and beautiful!
We had a great time here! There weren't too many people and we had a table near the window, so it was a beautiful view even at night. Our food came very quickly and it tasted amazing. I would definitely go back here for another occasion!
It's such a bright and cheerful restaurant. I loved my chicken pasta dish. The pinenuts were a delightful change up. Excellent service. I highly recommend this for downtown dining.
Roasted garlic for app came out cold. Apps and meal essentially came out together
I just don't understand why they don't allow iced tea but they do allow regular coca-cola
We had a wonderful experience! The food is delicious, Service is great and the location and ambience makes it a perfect place for a special occasion.
Overpriced. A relatively ordinary restaurant at a high price. Pretty limited menu. Dinner rolls were not brought to our table, so we had to ask for them — twice. They finally arrived after I had finished my meal. Disappointing experience.
I love the décor and environment. The food is hit and miss. The pork, meatloaf and steak are outsanding, but the pasta and BLT sandwich were very mediocre. The service was on the slow side, but are waiter was very friendly and helpful!
I took my Girlfriend here for Valentines Day. We had both never been here before so we were excited to try it. The food was excellent! I had the pork and my GF had a Berry Salad. Tasted delicious and was piping hot right out of the kitchen. That’s what I like to see. I would go here again!
We arrived early as instructed to possibly get a window seat and it was awesome because we got a window seat. That’s about the only good thing of the experience!!! The waiter came over a just started rambling when we told him we have no idea what he’s saying. He spent the the 5 minutes explaining himself. My wife and I were so confused. We placed our drink order and appetizer order. It took FOREVER to get our drinks and they arrived with the appetizer. We placed our food order and a couple minutes later the table beside us got seated and their waiter told them about the valentines special and at that time gave them bread. We were never told about a valentine special nor did we get bread until way late into our meal. The food finally came and my wife’s chicken was rubbery and the skin wasn’t crispy at all, she ordered the polenta instead of mashed potatoes and the under side was burnt so it had the char taste. DISCUSSING! A place so promising yet failed short almost on every aspect of fine dining. The place literally sells its self all it would take is a staff to WOW their customer! All in all it was a complete letdown!
The food was really good, fun atmosphere. The stake I ordered was cooked well, when I asked for medium. The Maple Salmon was awesome. Overall a good visit. The stake is not very good at all. Thanks you for the food.
The Garden Restaurant was a beautiful location and the staff was very kind! It was fairly expensive for the quality of food - our steak was very underdone and hard to eat. Additionally, we weren't given plates for our appetizer, or steak knives for our steaks. We felt bad continually having to ask for things. Once again, the staff was great, maybe it was just an off day. Overall, still wouldn't recommend just because you could get much better tasting food for $100
We had a most delicious meal in a beautiful setting with beautiful singing in the background. We had a lovely first time experience. They even acknowledged our anniversary! !
It was my 22nd anniversary been married to my dear Rose
The service was authentic and genuine .
Thank you for making this night special
For the price I think the dinner meals should include either a small dinner salad or bowl of soup. Other than that we enjoyed our dining experience.
Located in a beautifully appointed building on the 10th Floor, the Garden Restaurant is sure to please. The service was excellent. The food was delicious (especially the berry tart- a perfect balance of sweet and tart). They even accommodated my request for a window seat.
Amazing views and service
Everything was perfect! Service was great, just a little awkward with our interaction with server, but in the end great! Food was good! It was a good steak, not a great one, but for the price and esthetic, it made it great! Thank you for all your help to make the proposal celebration great!
Amanda was our server. She was gracious, courterous attententive, best there is!
Relatively expensive for what you get but the views are amazing.
I enjoyed me experience. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Everything I expect in a waiter. The view was lovely. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. Overall, a very nice experience.
Spectacular view. Great food and service! Second time there and likely to return.
The food was good but a bit pricey for what we got. Service was ok. The view here is what makes it a nice dining experience.
Our experience was very good, but the prices are high. There are many restaurants with equal or better food for less money. However if you like to pay $15 for a hamburger, this may be your thing.
Lovely view. Food choices are limited. Portions are large. Overall, a nice meal. Reservations are recommended.
Attentive and accommodating staff, delicious food, spectacular view of the Salt Lake Temple, a perfect combination for my parents' anniversary celebration! Ordering fresh flowers for the table made it all complete!
The Good: The food was excellent, our waiter was attentive but, did not hover and the view was amazing! We were seated for our reservation shortly after we arrived too and didn't have to wait with the hordes of people outside the restaurant.
The Bad: We were practically on top of the table next to us. We could hear absolutely every word spoken by them and they weren't being loud. They have tile floors and vaulted ceilings so the restaurant in general was extremely loud. For wanting a romantic night out to celebrate our anniversary, that was a bit disappointing.
Since the last time we came the culinary delights were much improved. Food was prepared just right to taste with a wonderful blend of flavors. Medium portions were served and presentation was wonderful.
