Unfortunately the service was horrible and the food mediocre. The restaurant was half full and it took an hour and a half to dine.
We were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. We were also given a very good table next to the window. Compared to my experience last year, which wasn't good, I was very surprised with the quality of service. The food was exceptional as usual. I was glad that I gave in to coming back this year.
We had a reservation for 7:45 and were immediately seated upon arrival at a window seat (as requested) with a great view of the valley great food!
We called and told them that we were going to be 15 minutes late because of traffic. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and had a great experience. Awesome view.
Great food. Service was sub par. The views were amazing.
We love going to the Garden Restaurant and come here for special occasions. My only complaint was the asparagus was tough and seemed old. I had the meatloaf which I love. I do think the soft drinks cost too much and next time will just get water.
Other than that small thing, it is our favorite place to go view the Christmas lights, celebrate special birthdays and take special visiting friends for lunch or dinner. We were there for my husband's birthday and to watch the lights on Temple Square come on.
This was essentially cafeteria food in a diner setting. The view was gorgeous but that was the only positive. They do not serve alcohol or soda. It is described as elegant dining but that is completely incorrect.
We had made reservations and we were immediately seated upon arrival. We had a great view of the city and of Temple Square. Food was excellent and priced well. We had a wonderful time and will return!
We came to The Garden to celebrate my parents’ 45th wedding anniversary. It was, as always, a lovely view. Our waiter was a little quirky, but fine. He was quite aggressive at clearing and made the last roll a very awkward experience. We finally just ate it so he’d stop mashing it when he “checked” the basket. He tried hard though, and I’m not sure he knew he was so awkward. :)
This restaurant is not kid or family friendly. It is also not gluten free friendly.
The view of Temple Square was spectacular. Went for lunch date and I had the Salmon Salad, it was excellent! Highly recommend this restaurant for lunch.
The Garden is a must for locals and visitors. Beautiful views Of the city and Temple Square. The servers are kind and always have a smile (great service the other night Amanda!).
We were seated “an elbow” from a group of four ladies. We requested another table with more space and were told they were about to leave. They did, 20 minutes later...at which time they seated another party of four there! Oddly enough, the restaurant was not crowded, so go figure. Not the best service.
Thank you it was great food and a wonderful atmosphere
Our server was Awesome! Her name was Hailey. The view was great and the food was good
Our waitress was overwhelmed, and forgot to bring a few things until we asked again. They also ran out of cake and we were celebrating a birthday.😕 But, I would love to go there again. The food was delicious and the view can’t be beat.
View was beautiful and the food was good. Our server was busy but pretty attentive. Good ambience. We will go back.
I had the Pasta lemon chicken and it was so delicious. The others in my party enjoyed their meals too. And who doesn't love Lion House Rolls?!?! The service was great and of course the view of Temple Square was ideal. We love this restaurant!
Delicious food with an exceptional view. It was a wonderful dining experience!
I haven't been to the Garden in a few years and was pleasantly surprised that the food quality has seemed to improve. I had a very enjoyable dinner conversing with my guests while overlooking Temple Square. I'm plan to dine there more often.
it was awful. The tables gave the feel we were in a cafeteria, they didn't serve alcohol or coffee. The food was mediocre and they had small portion sizes. It was also served on an ugly piece of paper
My previous experiences here have not been great, but this one was much improved. Much better service and much better food.
We had a wonderful dining experienc. The service was excellent and the atmoshpere was like no other restaurant in Salt Lake with amaxing scenery and a beautiful sunset.
Nice and great views but food was not quite as 'fine' as expected for a restaurant like that with such grand views. Just regular food
Excellent meal and service
Ordered chicken, meatloaf, and steak. Chicken was not cooked enough. Was expecting a breast but got the thigh and leg. Meatloaf was mushy. Steak was good. Not much on the menu. Need more food items to chose from. Service was excellent and so was the view. Probably, will not be back.
This place was great! We came for our one year anniversary and we loved the food and the view. The burgers were sensational and sizable too. The fries were crisped to perfection and there was a mountain of them. Would definitely recommend the strawberry limeade as it was one of the best drinks I've ever had. The service was less than great; our waitress only checked in on us twice. But overall, we were impressed and will be coming back.
Took 1 hour to get drinks
Overall the experience was good. Myself and another of our party had the Salmon and the rice was pretty dry, also portions were a little small for the money. Our server could have been more attentive, my wife was never asked for a refill on her specialty drink. The atmosphere was wonderful and it is nice quiet place to dine.
We have been to the Garden several times. The service was excellent and the waiter was friendly and attentive. The view is awesome overlooking Salt Lake Valley and Temple Square. We had the salmon and is was excellent.
Not a lot of menu choices. Nice view. Not noisy. Good service.
Very disappointed in the quality of the food. Overpriced for what you receive.
The Garden was awesome! Our son returned home from his mission and we hosted a luncheon for 25 people at The Garden for the occasion. We told them it would be for 15-20 people, but we had more attend than expected. The staff, food and atmosphere was great and they were very accommodating. I highly recommend this location for your special event. Bravo!
Overall the atmosphere is nice and the service is great. The food just wasn't worth the prices, though, I thought, and nothing blew us away with flavor. I had the fried green tomatoes BLT, which was an awesome idea, but I didn't get any flavor coming through from the tomatoes or the feta cheese, which was a shame. It just tasted kind of like a big handful of toast.
My mom had one of the hamburgers, which she asked for medium but it came out basically well done. She said the meat and the onion were both very overdone.
The specially drinks were ok, but all just different variations on "sweet."
If you're looking for some basic American food, it's fine, but it's trying to appear really high end and it just doesn't have the flavor to back it up as a fine dining experience.
This is a great gem of a lunch restaurant for business meals. It boasts terrific views of Temple Square. The fare is comfort food, a *little*over priced, but the service is exemplary.
Great views! We got a table with a view. Service was slow, but our drinks were comped because of that.
Main Dishes were cooked very poorly. Chicken was rubbery, Rice was mostly uncooked and hard. Not used to seeing this kind of cooking in a "Nicer Restaurant"
What an excellent spot to get away from the Hustle and Bustle. NICE FOOD and SERVICE
It was great. I was surprised to see Buratta cheese on the menu. It tasted just like the Buratta I had in Italy.
You can never go wrong with the view at this restaurant! Service, however, was something left to be desired. Food was delicious.
