Amanda was our server. She was gracious, courterous attententive, best there is!
Relatively expensive for what you get but the views are amazing.
I enjoyed me experience. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Everything I expect in a waiter. The view was lovely. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. Overall, a very nice experience.
Spectacular view. Great food and service! Second time there and likely to return.
The food was good but a bit pricey for what we got. Service was ok. The view here is what makes it a nice dining experience.
Our experience was very good, but the prices are high. There are many restaurants with equal or better food for less money. However if you like to pay $15 for a hamburger, this may be your thing.
Lovely view. Food choices are limited. Portions are large. Overall, a nice meal. Reservations are recommended.
Attentive and accommodating staff, delicious food, spectacular view of the Salt Lake Temple, a perfect combination for my parents' anniversary celebration! Ordering fresh flowers for the table made it all complete!
The Good: The food was excellent, our waiter was attentive but, did not hover and the view was amazing! We were seated for our reservation shortly after we arrived too and didn't have to wait with the hordes of people outside the restaurant.
The Bad: We were practically on top of the table next to us. We could hear absolutely every word spoken by them and they weren't being loud. They have tile floors and vaulted ceilings so the restaurant in general was extremely loud. For wanting a romantic night out to celebrate our anniversary, that was a bit disappointing.
Since the last time we came the culinary delights were much improved. Food was prepared just right to taste with a wonderful blend of flavors. Medium portions were served and presentation was wonderful.
Outstanding service and food. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere.
The atmosphere and view is wonderful. The food was good, but you are definitely paying for the view and not the quality and amount of food. I don't mind paying more than normal if I come away feeling like I received the value for what I paid. I would recommend the Garden to a friend but make them aware that the food is not the main reason for going there.
Bradley our waiter was fun and good keeping up with us even though he had a big wedding table he was attending to. He will always be reminded of us when he thinks of a full table (not a wedding party) that each person wanted the Salmon entree. The Salmon was PERFECT! Cuddos to the chef! Thank you for wonderful Christmas experience! Our family enjoyed being there!
Everyone else’s food was good, but my pasta tasted like it was a few days old and had been rewarmed in the microwave. It was super dry. The appetizer was great! We got the pitas with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. Our table was in the corner with a beautiful view of the lights and Temple Square.
Food was good and view was wonderful. The service was slow. It took 10 minutes plus to just get our water and another 45 minutes to get our food after ordering.. We have been there before so this was unusual and don't know why it took so long.
We have made lunch on Dec. 24 a couple tradition for several years and decided this year to invite some friends to join us. We all enjoyed ourselves and since it wasn't crowded, we stayed and visited following our meal. No one bothered us while we did this and we appreciated that. The view is also a plus when dining. Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon for 8 senior citizens!! We will be back next year!
Phenomenal service, excellent food, and hard to beat the view. Too bad we were only tourists. I’d eat there regularly.
Okay place and food but really overpriced. All justified by the views below...I guess.
I asked for a widow seat and another person with a bunch of little kids were placed in that seat. They didn't even look out the window. When they say that they will place you in a certain place they should do what they say
Food was amazing and the view was even better, looking out over Temple Square. Our waiter Jason was great and made sure we were taken care of. Would definitely recommend to others and return.
We requested a reservation at 5:00 p.m.. We were told that there were no openings available. That 315 was the only open When we Arrived, the restaurant was 80% empty when we arrived And was still 2/3 empty when we left at 5:00 p.m. Asked for extra sauce for my shrimp pasta, but it never arrived
Breathtaking views. Beautiful atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic.
My girlfriend was served raw steak and the waiter made no apology and almost no effort to correct it after he was notified. The service was slow and we waited 20 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation. The food that was prepared correctly was good, but there's no shortage of good restaurants in the area that come without the Garden's baggage.
The waitstaff was immediate bringing us water and hot rolls...with COLD butter. It took a long time for our entree to arrive, but we noticed that the wait staff personnel were physically hustling so assumed there was a shortage for the number of patrons. It was excusable and we were in no hurry.
I would have liked to see more on the menu, I was expecting more elevated foods. The view was amazing and we all had a great time.
Great food, great service. It's always a treat to go to the Garden Restaurant.
Amazing view! Our waiter was fantastic, and they let us right in even though we were 10 mins late from our reservation. I would highly recommend anyone go to the Garden Restaurant.
Bad experience! It was our last "hurrah" before my husband's overseas deployment and we wanted the night to be extra special. When I made the reservation weeks in advance on Open Table I requested a table with a view and the reason why. When we checked in I asked the host if the request went through and he said "Yes but all our tables have a view." He was very unfriendly. 30 minutes past our reservation time we were sat at a table with NO VIEW even though there was an empty table with one. Then the food was pretty bad. My chicken and mashed potatoes were so dry that they had to bring broth to pour over it. My sons shrimp Mac and cheese was watery and flavorless. I would not go back.
Food was great, restaurant was very clean, we were able to be seated, as requested, by a window so we could look out on Temple Square with all the Christmas lights, and our server, Rose, was delightful!
We were very pleased with our dinner here. Gave it a 4 four ambiance but only because we didn’t get a table by the windows which was our fault for not asking up front. The food was excellent and very fairly priced. Our server was tops.
Fantastic service and excellent food! I would definitely recommend. Great!
Great food, wonderful view, and excellent service!
Location was great. Server was attentive. Pasta dish was skimpy on the chicken but my granddaughters loved the purple carrots. If I went again, I would probably stick with the hamburger.
Everything was wonderful with our first experience here, but the food was the most outstanding thing. Will always have a meal here when in Salt Lake.
We loved the restaurant and the food. I was a little upset concerning my reservation. I had originally made it for 4, when I went to change to 6 I was informed it wasn't possible. We then took the earlier one. While we were dining, there was an empty table for 6 the whole time we were there. I just kept thinking that was the table I had originally reserved, but then had to cancel.
Then we didn't get rolls, until we got our bill and noticed that the table next to us had rolls, we asked and were then told that, "yes" we should have had rolls. They did bring them at that time, so we considered it our dessert.
All in all it was a very enjoyable evening. We would definitely return.
For the value, the view and the service-- this restaurant is a super win! A unique Utah experience that is perfect for out of town clients and suppliers.
Excellent service, food was tasty, but we were disappointed in the portion size. However, overall it was a good experience and the view of temple square and beyond is amazing.
I love the garden! We do this restaurant EVERY year for our anniversary. It is a bit expensive but so worth it. They take good care of my large family (3 small kids, lol) and making sure they are doing ok with coloring pages etc. The food is excellent and the fried pickles are an absolute favorite. I absolutely LOVED the online registering for a table. It was so nice to be able to look around at the lights during this time of year and not have to make our way all the way to the top of the building and then back down. We just new what time we had to get there. Will definitely do it again and recommend it to anyone wanting to spend a nice evening out! Especially this time of year with all of temple square being decorated.
Everything about this restaurant is excellent!!
