The Gambling Cowboy Chophouse and Saloon
Sunday brunch was delicious. Definitely going back for a dinner
We had a wonderful dinner for my daughters 16th birthday! The food was amazing, and there was plenty of it! There is something for everyone, my 13 year old who is super picky loved the Mac and cheese. The corn and veggies were to die for as was the three types of steak we had. We would definitely be back!
Everything was great once we got to the table. We were seated 15 minutes after our reservation time. They had plenty of open tables but not enough servers. The hostess was a terrible first impression for their restaurant. She was rude to several customers when they arrived, short, dismissive and refused to smile or even make eye contact when speaking to them.
The food was great. Our service staff was amazing and the atmosphere was fun.
Dump the hostess and staff a little better and it would be 5 stars across the board.
My second time here and I was a bit disappointed. The food was OK, but not what I expected given my previous visit nor for the price. Also, my wife has food allergies and I was very disappointed at the lack of effort made to accommodate her. Despite that, probably still the best steak place in Temecula/Murrietta.
Once again, a phenomenal meal!! We are never disappointed when we come into town for a long weekend when we come to this restaurant!
I would warn my friends about the service though. The food is fabulous service could be better. We had brown/black hair in our mashed potatoes. I have burgundy Brown red hair my husband has blond reddish hair. That didn't come from us. We told the waitress and she actually argued about it Said there was no way since it came from the kitchen to our table. She was not the one who served us our meal.
The food was amazing , the atmosphere was wonderful and the staff were Awesome!
My first visit to the Gambling Cowboy was such a pleasant experience. For those who plan to visit - expect to receive generous portions of reasonably priced, delicious food. Prepare to get excellent service from their caring staff. Enjoy the view that comes with outdoor seating. I highly recommend it. Love, love...
Service and food was excellent; however, we made a reservation for 4:00 and showed up five minutes early. We were placed at table 1 and for our anniversary was not a table we were happy with. We asked if the booth across the way was available so we could sit across from each other, and we’re informed that there was another reservation ( but ours was earlier) and there was only 2 people placed at a 4 person booth. We thought they were saving it for a bigger party. So the seating was not to our liking. We only go out once a year without kids so we were hoping to have a better experience. With that being said, the food was excellent, but I may reconsider because the seating was subpar and they weren’t accommodating.
Simply put, awesome restaurant in an awesome town!
Super delicious food and good service. I’m definitely coming back.
Special Anniversary Dinner.
Chose your place looking for a good steak, and was not disappointed. The 16oz Ribeye was outstanding! So tender, and full of flavor.
My wife's Short Ribs were tender and tasty.
To top it off, our waiter Frank was top-notch, a true asset to you staff!
Thanks you, we will return.
❤️ great food and service, as usual!
Great food, very nice waitress! A little pricey but for a special occasion it was very nice! I liked the big private booths. Very good blood orange margarita!
A completely unexpected surprise. Delicious and fantastic service. Very little parking but worth it.
Shrimp was over cooked and tough on the halibut trio but the scallop was excellent you should do a whole meal for scallops.
Arrived 15 minutes early. Was seated 10 minutes AFTER my reservation time in an area nearly devoid of customers ( 8 tables..I was seated in the second occupied table). Understandable why I shouldn’t be seated earlier, but a lot of gossiping and general BS at hostess counter, so I have to in good conscience mark that service as a lower score.
Won’t deter me from returning again, but I will likely forego the effort of a reservation and likely opt for bar seating instead.
Good food and service...well worth the price. Customer service was great too.
Came to celebrate my cousin's anniversary. They were very happy with our choice. I come for the lobster mac and cheese every time. The portions are huge and I always have enough for the next day.
The food was amazing as always. One of our favorite date night spots in Temecula.
Went for our 44th anniversary. Gross salty food. Inedible. Very disappointing. 9/5/2019
Always come here when i am in town! My husband loves their steaks and i am in love with the Lobster mac and cheese!!!
Our arrival out of heat into the friendly confines were met by wonderful hospitality! Our server Colleen, the best ever! Our appetizers delicious and dinner was perfection!! The ambiance a true destination and our return can’t be soon enough! Thank you everyone for a wonderful Birthday celebration!!
Thanks again for another great dining experience. The service was top notch as expected!!!
Food, and service were excellent! I love that there is still a place that takes reservations!
The best thing about this restaurant was sitting outside on the balcony on a lovely evening in Temecula. The service was good at the outset, however, minutes after receiving my Caesar salad (which was good) my steak entree was delivered and the service went downhill from there. I expect much better timing at any restaurant, but especially at one of this supposed caliber. My steak, a traditional ribeye, did not have a lot of flavor. I was quite disappointed about the entire experience.
Vacation in Temecula. Loved the Gambling Cowboy decor and casual relaxing unique vibe. Our meals were exceptional and service was professional, friendly and timely. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back often.
Menu diverse and many appealing choices. Food was fabulous and portions were good. We will definitely return!
Everything time we have been to the Cowboy it has been great! The wait staff the food everything!
Great food and service!
Always good, steaks were amazing, cooked to perfection. Service Outstanding!
The food was fabulous and our server did an excellent job
Great food and service. The ambiance is good for every age. Parking is a challenge.
Great food and service!
We've driven past the restaurant a few times, never even noticing it was there. Now that we know about it, we'll definitely be back. We were seated on the veranda, with some concern about noise level, outdoor temperature, etc., but it was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was a surprising mix of Old West and 5 Star/black tie (we were celebrating our 33rd anniversary): The service was impeccable (we were served a drink while waiting for our table to become available, and were never kept waiting when we needed something after being seated). The food was the best I will ever eat: The Raspberry Chipotle Brie appetizer was exquisite, Cowboy Mac & Cheese was something I'll NEVER be able to duplicate at home (oh, darn -- guess we'll just have to come back...), and The Gambler cowboy cut Bone-in Ribeye was over the top delicious.
Definitely a fine-dining experience worthy of special occasions and celebrations, or just a nice evening out. (We've already started telling our friends about it!)
This is a great place to eat at. The food is great and the service is prompt. I highly recommend the Gambling Cowboy!!!!
Excellent as always!!
As always the meal was wonderful and our wait person (Colleen) was outstanding with her daughter Julia as assistant!
Love this place!
Rene is the owner, chef and she is such a kind talented person.
We come here at least 2 X a year while we are in town have always loved the food and the service. This time we were very disappointed with the food. The Bri cheese with chipotle raspberry sauce did not have any chipotle in it. We got the 24 oz ribeye to share and it was. It cooked to order
Potatoes were not the best but ok.
I have never been so disappointed here before but I was this time. When we said something about the steak not being called cooked to order we were told it looked like it was medium. I was wondering how she would know since the steak had not been cut and she said it was the right color.
And that was it.
So spending 58.00 for a steak that I did not eat
I was not happy. But they did not offer to do anything.
Great food! Attentive staff! Huge portions (probably could have done without that)! We went for our anniversary dinner and noticed several other patrons were celebrating an event as well. Obviously, Gambling Cowboy is the place to go for happy times!
