The Front Yard
All 3 of our meals came out at separate times, mine not until my friend was already done eating. Once my order did arrive, it was also cooked incorrectly, so had to wait again for it to be corrected.
For an early morning visit, with the restaurant not busy and plenty of staff on hand, it was disappointing.
It's not great. They still use plastic straws, a year after the ban. That's just anti social. Just do your part in society. Place looks nice. We were greeted at our table by 4 different people in total until the final server was assigned to us, so seems like the organization can be improved. Had to ask for the vegetarian menu, as if that's an aberration. We were a party of 2, but a 15% gratuity was automatically added, which seems odd to me. All in all, food and interior design of restaurant is good, but the rest is a bit off, so I won't return here.
The hosts were nice. The food was just alright. The service wasn’t that great. The server seemed resistant to accommodate my food allergy at first and tried to suggest I do the buffet before I could finish explaining to her what I wanted. My request wasn’t outlandish and I was willing to pay the up charge but She still resisted at first which I didn’t appreciate and thought was a bit rude. I had to ask and subsequently wait some time for simple things like water and ketchup. The omelette was subpar with nothing in it besides cheese, protein and avocado on top. It was just overall a very below average restaurant.
Great date night ambiance. Fantastic cocktails. Food and drinks were definitely a bit pricier but great for a special occasion. Will definitely come back.
This was our first visit to The Yard. We started with happy hour in the bar, and the cocktails, were fabulous! Highly recommend the Moscow Mule. We also had the green hummus, the wild mushroom flatbread, and the caramelized brussel sprouts! It was all tasty, fresh and the service was superb! Will definitely return when the weather is a little warmer and take advantage of the patio too!
Great food, friendly service & fantastic ambiance.
Front yard is perfect but the hostesses are very rude - chased my friend out of the restaurant to take a tiny tea light candle out of hwe
Good food and attentive service in a clean and stylish atmosphere. I have already recommended it!
Based on the pictures I expected a different type of ambience. Water tasted like tap water, the “on the run” mocktail was too citrusy and upset my stomach. The friend chicken was moist and fried well, but it didn’t come with any gravy or sauce, which left me with the feeling that something was missing. Overall it wasn’t a bad experience, but it did leave me feeling like it missed the mark.
Staff was very friendly and service was prompt.
Always have a great experience at the front yard. I have been there so many times and it is always great!
It was a great relaxing atmosphere. We’re definitely coming back!
Great time. With friends, one from England. Had the Wedge that she had never heard of/or tried. Great service and food. Our second time there and we couldn’t figure out why we don’t go there more often.
Great Sunday afternoon spent at TFY with visiting family staying in Burbank. The location was a surprise, as it's next to The Garland Hotel - which we found out used to be a Howard Johnson's way back when. Valet only, or you can opt to park up the street and walk a bit. We had a picnic style table on the patio and our server was really sweet. Our meal was lovely, and I appreciated that the brunch menu wasn't too big. We had the avocado toast with fried egg, the open faced steak and eggs, and the TFY Benedict with the cardamom beignets to share. Coffee was amazing. We're not coffee *pour over* snobs by any means, but it was so good that we asked our server where they got their beans from - yes I swear we're not those people. Studio City is a bit of a drive for us, but I'd like to someday try their dinner menu if I ever plan to be in the area again.
Great ambiance for dinner/drinks, great for family brunch. I keep coming back here and love it every time.
Service is excellent. The food is inventive and delicious. There is also lots of variety.
Wonderful ambiance and yummy food!
Great food and ambience, along with a great selection of drinks.
Loved our server and the food was awesome! We’ll deff be back! Thanks for everything!!
Yummy food, great atmosphere, friendly excellent service (though may vary depending on where you sit). A special neighborhood place.
Great place for a relaxing mean or drink. The patio area in particular is a relaxing spot for brunch.
My husband has celiac (gluten allergy). When I called for reservation I was told accomodations could be made. At restaurant our server indicated only a couple items were GF, however, upon further questioning, we found more items could be made gluten free with an up charge for switching out the sides that contained gluten. Staff should have informed us of that up front
The brussel sprouts and octopus are fabulous!
We went as a party of four and one of our party has some dietary restrictions. Two of our party had been there before, including the person with the dietary restrictions, and whose requests had been accommodated with no issue during a lunch visit. Yet here, at dinner, we were told no substitutions were allowed, as that was the direction of the head chef. We simply were requesting a non-dairy option with one of the entrees...so no substitution on the daily special, fine. But with nothing else? We don't blame the server, who was awesome, but we needed the manager to get involved, who spoke to the chef on duty, who granted a "one time" exception...really? At these prices, that's your customer service? People have allergies, and you need to be flexible. If not, expect people to go elsewhere. That's what we will do in the future.
Server did not explain the cut for time for bottomless is at 3. This should be said before planing an order...
Very friendly hosts and servers. I've told several friends about The Front Yard and recommend it for brunch and lunch.
Service was great. Our request to be seated outside near fireplace was granted. I got the cozy feeling and that's great. There were blankets available in case you feel colder. We like all the food that were recommended to us by our server. Yummy and tasty. Over all experience, I truly recommend this place.
Thank you Oliver, you and your staff are the best.
One of my favorites. Service often varies a bit depending on where you are seated... but always welcoming and friendly. A great nuanced environment with many micro areas in which to sit. 3hour validated free self-park is the icing on the cake.
Nice ambiance. Service was very good. My meal tasted like a frozen dinner. Would not go back.
All dinners were great. Nice ambience.
Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The food was quite delicious, and the desserts were decadent.
The buffet food was taken out after 30min of our arrival. You should let the guests know beforehand when the food is gone. Also, 7:30 timeslot like we took doesn’t work for the same reason.
The BEST Christmas buffet! The best service, chefs and bartenders!
For the third year in a row, we had our Christmas dinner at the Front Yard. The reasonably priced pre fixe buffet was great, with many options and the bonus of going back for more. Our service was exceptional, the room was quiet, and we didn't feel like we were being rushed through our meal. I think this has become a Christmas tradition. We'll be back.
Great place. The Chilean Seabass was phenomenal. We had a wonderful server who made sure we were taken care of through the whole experience. I would definitely come here again.
My mother and I chose the Front Yard for Christmas Day dinner. We were seated in a booth, which allowed us to sit next to each other for better hearing. The buffet was lavish -- from crab legs to prime rib, from custom-made cupcakes to perfectly-cooked broccolini. And our server was very solicitous, keeping tabs on us in spite of the holiday crowd. If you want a more intimate experience, I would suggest asking for the smaller back room, or even the patio.
We mostly enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner, however the short rib pot pie was too salty. Service could have been better although we understood that it was a busy night. It was a bit chilly inside with the windows open to the patio area.
Good food and ambiance on the patio. The cheese biscuits are terrific. But I have negatives. First, one person in my party asked for a beer with the meal, even telling two servers the beverage was never brought. Second, it took forever to get the bill. Third, the server, Travis, said they automatically affix a 15% gratuity (which ticks me off), but then he had the nerve to say, "The 15% is split between myself and the kitchen staff, but any additional amount goes straight to me." That seems very self-serving. I might go back, but I would not want to have Travis as our server again.
