As always, great food, great staff, and a great time
Went here for my birthday last year and again recently for St Patrick's Day! Loved the food (all local foods) and the service was great!
Absolutely awesome every time
Always an amazing meal. We had lots of leftovers to bring home but they didn't last long.😊
Food is excellent, hot and fresh. Cocktails are intriguing and fun. The staff is friendly and accommodating without being overbearing. It's a cozy, cute place.
My wife and I decided to give it a go, and we are so glad that we did.
We recommend getting a reservation as this is a popular spot and folks were being turned away, maybe as it was a Saturday evening, but a good idea anyway if you have time to plan ahead.
To begin, I had the mussel appetizer, she had the greens, and they were both beyond expectation.
We decided on the N.Y. Strip, hers as med-well and mine as medium(always).
They were both cooked just right and the flavors were exquisite.
Thank you for such a wonderfully “Gastric” experience.
We shall return.
Another great meal. James and his staff are great. I little loud this time but not bad. Returning customers who will continue returning!
Been here 5 times now and I've been very satisfied every time
Great evening spent at the frog and turtle. Got the special 4 course menu timing was perfect , had a very nice table and really enjoyed the live music
Valentines date with my wife. The food was beyond delicious and very eloquently done. The Valentine Day 5 course dinner special was perfecto. Music and atmosphere was good. It was nice and warm which we enjoy. Table for 2 very nice and sweet waitress who was very attentive. . Always a nice experience at Frog and Turtle. Thank You!
I had a shepherds pie crepe that I am still dreaming about! Depth of taste was so so great.
Totally awesome!! The salads are very fresh with just the right amount of dressing tossed in. The meatloaf was pan fried on top of a bed of macaroni and cheese, placed on top a bed of spinach. My wife had the haddock and the potatoes were hand sliced and fried just right. Can't wait to go again and try another dish. Our server, Emily, I believe, was very nice and gave us the up and up,(food is cooked to order and may take a little extra time.) as this was our first time. The "side room" is a little less noisy, but overall, still very pleasant.
Jimmy always gives a great meal, and at a price that beats the Portland restaurants. Never had anything we didn't like, and never anything that failed to meet our expectations.
The Frog and Turtle is hands down my favorite brunch spot in Greater Portland. Home fries are on point. Eggs Benny is out of this world. Drinks are always delicious. Keep doing what you’re doing!
Great food! Great music , David Good and Jeff Willis, and great service Lucia!
This was our first time at Frog & Turtle. We went with an other couple. Several friends have been before and raved about the daily specials offered. Unfortunately we were quite surprised and disappointed when our server told us there were no special that night. The food we ordered was very good though. The atmosphere is very loud, almost too loud to talk to one another without yelling. We went on a Thursday night and live music was playing. With so many dining options in the greater Portland area I would probably not go again.
The staff was very pleasant, and the food, at brunch, good, but the homefries were a bit salty. We felt that it was noisy for a Sunday morning brunch, more like a Friday late afternoon crowd's column. That said, I'd try another brunch .
Everything was excellent - from the drinks to the Boulliabaisse and Wing Night! Stop by and see Adam at the bar for a kick-*ss cocktail!
The presentation of the food, the hostess, and James the owner was outstanding...However for the first time in 12 years The waitress was absolutely horrible...She had a lack of servicing our table and taking care of our of requests..Most disappointed for the first time in 12 years of going here…
Excellent service, great ambiance and delicious food!
Even though we had a reservation, we waited 20 minutes for our table to be ready. No offer of coffee or similar was made.
seated, our service was excellent and we were given complimentary donuts.
There must be wonderful dishes available as every table was filled but we did not hit it right. Primarily fish and chips dish was not enjoyed; fish ok but set on chips making them soggy. Service was great; the perfect amount of attention without being intrusive. The entire staff is a pleasure. A little bright and a little noisy for our taste in ambiance
The food was divine and the wait staff was very pleasant. I just can't say enough about it. I think it would be a little expensive for every day dining though.
Delicious food, generous servings. Reliably yummy!
Great food we got some of the specials (rabbit, soup of day, etc!!!).
Great food. Great menu. Outstanding dining experience.
Our server, Emily W., is the best. Always there when you need her and super knowledgeable about the menu. She hits a home run every time.
We have been there many times. The food is beyond amazing. Our service yesterday wasn't the greatest that we had experienced as our waitress was put off by simple requests (no ice water just from the tap) and facial expressions that were unnecessary
Great intimate gathering place. Relaxed atmosphere. Great service and Great Quality Made to Order food, always. Best place in the area for dinner!
Excellent service. Great food.
Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Love the music. Would be nice if music could start a bit earlier though.
Great gem in Westbrook.
Never disappoints. First time our friends had been here.... they were very pleased with their dinner and drinks and will be back again. The band added to the evening...we ended up staying for a night cap before leaving....
Service was slow for sunday brunch, we were also asked to leave because other folks were waiting to be seated after only being there for a little over an hour. We made a reservation and waited at the hostess stand for over 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. I've been here a bunch of times and always love it but was pretty disappointed in the service this time around.
Our daughters 34th birthday and she asked to go to the Frog and Turtle. Let alone how good the food is but for her it was all about the homemade donuts! Everyone had a little twist on their orders and the kitchen didn't disappoint. Myself i asked to spice up my dish and it was perfect.
This place is always good. The food is amazing!!!
Nice job and wish it was closer to home so that I could go more often!
Fantastic service and delicious brunch.
The pulled pork tacos with mole was very delicious! I will go back there just for that. There was a fun rock and roll cover band called Pride & Joy playing and the live music aspect was enjoyable.
Not a good good value on the salmon dish
Eating here was one of the weirdest experiences of my life. I was having brunch with 6 friends to celebrate my birthday when one of my friends discovered a large metal screw in her mouth. Her meal had arrived with a large metal screw in it. Thankfully, she only sustained some scratches in her mouth before she realized what it was and removed it from her mouth. This in itself was pretty crazy, but then when we told the owner/chef that my friend should not have to pay for any part of her meal (including her two mimosas), he was outraged and angrily aggressive with us. He insisted that comping her meal (only the food) was enough and argued with us and tried to provoke us, accused us of saying we would refuse to pay for her drinks, which we did not say. We were extremely understanding when the screw was first found, remained polite and we even apologized to our waitress, feeling sorry that she was in this uncomfortable position. I have never been accosted by the owner of a restaurant I was eating at, and certainly never as a result of his own, rather grave mistake. I will not be back. My friend paid for her drinks.
Please go back to your old salad dressing. The one on Sunday was not half as good as your old one.
