Love the eclectic menu, the nooks and crannies that make for a cozier dining experience, and the attentive staff. Great craft cocktails too! Everything we ate was fabulous and well presented. My first time and definitely not my last!
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere! I highly recommend the Frog and the Peach; you will not be disappointed. Everything from the ambiance to the fresh, locally sourced cuisine to the amazingly progressive wine list checks off all the boxes on any foodie’s hit list. Enjoy!
From oysters to lamb shank to sticky toffee pudding, everything was perfect! The foie gras ‘torchon’ was exceptional. We love the new wine list, quite substantial and hard to find in NJ.
Excellent service from start to finish. Delicious food with exceptional presentation. Desserts especially well prepared ans presented. Highly recommend.
Our son and daughter-in-law gave us a gift card when we recently moved back to the area right down the street from Frog and Peach. I had read that Happy Hour was good however we decided to use the gift card when my daughter visited. We thought the food was over-priced. It was tasty but not memorable. We did have to wait quite long to order a drink when we arrived. We might go back to try the Happy Hour where food items are more reasonably priced.
Poor service is the worst experience a diner can encounter in ANY restaurant. A restaurant of this caliber should have all the kinks worked out on a busy Saturday night so the diner does not wait over 1 hour to put their order in. In continued down hill after that.
I had the best hamburger ever! I cannot wait to have it again!
Service was very slow. My husbands food was cold. Our wine had lots of floating cork in it, waiter said it was sediment... whatever it was I don’t think it’s unreasonable to get a new glass, the waiter looked at us like it was such an inconvenience to replace it. Lamb was over cooked and dry and we had a hair in our dessert. Don’t think we will return here. You expect more for what your paying. Very disappointed.
We had a good meal the menu is eclectic with lots of choices. the space is easy to dine in
Service was GREAT and attentive. Food was excellent. Was there celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary and was surprised with 2 complimentary flutes of champagne. Would definitely dine there again!!
Great food but very small portions. I had the tuna and it was probably about 4 oz. of tuna for something like $33. Great wine list and the service was excellent.
Our lunch celebrating a 90th birthday was excellent. The room was bright and cheery, and two at other tables were also celebrating birthdays. The service was friendly, and the food excellent, especially the swordfish and the sticky toffee pudding.
Great as always. The gnocchi was fabulous, as were the oysters.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is superb and the service is great.
The server was very busy and it took forever to get our food order, and then the food.
About my main course, the fish was extremely salty, impossible to enjoy, I kindly asked for lemon or something to “help” the flavor, but then again the server wasn’t paying attention at all and he forgot to bring it!
We used to enjoy this restaurant!
I always love this place! The staff really go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful dining experience. I come here frequently because of it.
I have had good experiences at the Frog & the Peach before but the valet parking situation has always been an issue. This time it was a nightmare. The Frog & The Peach told me they couldn’t do anything about it because the city managed it. Ridiculous. They sat us in the back upstairs near a huge table of people. Then they actually put a charge on our already large bill (with 4 people’s appetizers, entrees, cocktails & wine) a $10 charge for the olives in my husband’s martini! We have introduced many couples to Frog & The Peach. No more😞
The most outstanding aspect of our dinner was the excellent service. Food was very good with some nice unique choices.
Enjoyed eight small plates for four people which we all shared; I prefer smaller tastes to large plates of food. Larger plates also available. The truffled gnocchi especially good. Also the scallops; we had mostly seafood and two meat plates, duck and pork. Not a meat eater, but I tasted these also. The bottle of Spanish wine recommended by the sommelier outstanding and worth the price. Elegant restaurant with outstanding food for special occasion.
We will return. Our first time there but the food was amazing. The service was close to a 5 star. The wait staff was friendly, and served us with a smile. Very nice, enjoyable experience
The bartender was perfectly adequate and the manager was complaint to customer needs and excellent for the history of the world and I can’t wait to come back and see Phil and Jeremy. Tom came out and has a beautiful hat and makes the most delicious warm bread
We enjoyed a Friday business lunch here. The food as always was excellent. Compliments to the Chef. The is better than any other in New Brunswick.
Took a date here the other night and I was very impressed with the wine menu, food menu and the overall feel of the restaurant. Jen was our waitress and she was very sweet and understood the menu, we liked it so much we stayed for 3 more drinks after dinner! Would recommend to anyone looking for a great date night.
Our experience was Horrible..............we sat down, waited over 45 min. and never received any food.
So, we left without eating.
We went to Steak 85 and had a nice meal.
The restaurant changed their menu format since we were there last... to small and large plates. The menu was fairly eclectic and somewhat limited.
As requested, they graciously accommodated our group of eight at a round table. Since it was a Saturday night, there was a lively and noisy crowd which made it difficult to hold conversation.
Egress for the servers was tight and so several of our party complained that their chairs were continuously bumped as the wait staff squeezed through to serve tables within our dining room.
The wait staff were professional and worked to keep our somewhat fussy crew happy.
As for the food, the table favorites seemed to be the lamb shank, black truffle gnocchi, day boat scallops, and peekitoe crab dishes.
Haven't been to this venerable restaurant in years and thought it would be a nice change from our usual haunts. It was
The menu was most unusual with a few 'large' plates leading you to select a couple of smaller, tapas like dishes. These smaller dishes were larger than typical appetizers and we each had two.
The food was well presented and delicious.
We had the pate, scallops, oysters and rabbit.
The oysters were a little vinegary but everything else tasted excellent
The service was professional and a little more classy than in other restaurants.
The servers were there when you needed or wanted them but in-obtrusive
The way the way the menu is set up makes the price a little higher.
For special occasions it shouldn't be a problem and I would go back for a special occasion
Nice restaurant. Very overpriced for what the food is. Parking is tough in the area and we had to park around the corner.
I went to Frog & the Peach on a Saturday evening with my boyfriend. The menu was not as expansive as I would have liked. The portions were also incredibly small, especially for the "larger" portions. My boyfriend is a bigger guy, so he left unsatisfied. The restaurant itself is very quaint and quiet. I highly recommend going for drinks at the bar. Overall, the experience and food were good, not great. Happy I went, but have no plans to go again.
We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. will certainly be back. Highly recommended
I was surprised that it wasn’t busier. Everything was really good!
Pricey, but a good experience. The bar can be crowded at night time.
Went there for Valentines Day for the prix fixe menu, and the food was extremely well presented and tasty. Everything was very nice except for two very minor issues: our server spoke extremely softly that I had a hard time hearing (I’m into the second half of my life, so it’s possible that I’m partially to blame here), and I felt like they slightly rushed us early in the meal.
Great service, good food and good wine
Had a prefix lunch and a couple of glasses of wine. Excellent overall. Lives up to the reputation they have earned over years. In the past I’ve had dinner there several times. Overall excellent!
This is the last thing one would expect in a college town! The Frog and Peach is a lovely not-so-little eatery with a fascinating menu. There is no indication before you get there that is it a tapas style menu so it was a little bit of a surprise that the dishes were as small as they were but we just ordered more and all were delicious. The black truffle gnocchi and rabbit with pappardelle are stand outs. Fresh baked rolls with hand crafted cocktails are a lovely way to start your meal. We finished with a crème brulee (on the house for our celebration) and while is was scrumptious, I personally like my sugar layer newly burnt and still warm and alas this was not. Overall, a gem in New Brunswick, NJ and a must try.
Excellent as usual.
I think this place is great and the amount of staff they have is perfect for how much attention is needed throughout the dining experience. While we were here, I ordered a drink off menu. This created some confusion (which I still feel bad about) but the staff learned the drink and made it for me.
Then later on, their expresso machine was out of order for a bit so they informed me it was going to be a bit of a wait. I did not mind. The staff were so nice and friendly that I would have waited an hour as to not bother them!
When we got up to leave, one of the staff apologized to us saying the service was not up to the standard he wanted it to be. This made me feel some sympathy for them all but also (since this was my second time being here) made me happy that they could recognize their own failings.
I don't hold anything against them and still had a great dining experience! This place is great. I just wanted to convey that even if the going gets rough there, the staff will do everything in their power to make you satisfied even if all they have at their disposal is a smile, friendly banter, and the ice water.
Very enjoyable lunch.
A nice place and the service was terrific and we had a nice quiet corner. The menu has a lot of unusual items on it and overall it is a pricey restaurant. The food was all good but overall I don't think it warranted the price which is why I didn't give it a better rating. If you are just looking for traditional menu items, this is not your place.
Plates were overpriced for the size and quality of the food. A couple things we ordered were quite good (e.g., duck bolognese, chocolate cake), but enough of them were duds (e.g., crab salad, chicken liver pate) that overall the cuisine was uninspired.
Ambiance was fine, service was good.
*Note: Valet parking is $15 BEFORE tip, ouch. Definite bummer.
