Food is always good here. Our table was next to the servers station and it was a bit noisy. Wedge salad, soup and oysters were great as was dessert (both chocolate), entrees were ok. Strip steaks were fatty and pork a but under done. Not enough to complain about though, just not 5 star.

Food is very creative, and usually very good. Wines are good and reasonably priced.

This time I had a pheasant special prepared Mexican style that was off the bone, and stuffed. It was awful. Tons of gristle and only mediocre in flavor. If I hadn't been at a business meal I would have sent it back.

We had a wonderful meal at The Frog and the Peach. The food was beautifully presented and very interesting and the service was excellent. We had two cocktails, a beer two appetizers and two small plates and a shared desert for $107. Not cheap but a good value, our server "Clementi" was excellent. The food was unique, but not over the top. The carrot cake was beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. I'd also recommend cauliflower almond puree appetizer. We were originally seated upstairs in a back room that was too loud, we requested and were moved to a quieter table also on the second floor. I had to ask several times for olive oil for my bread, but beside this, the service was excellent. I would recommend it for a date night or special occasion.

Very enjoyable evening at the Frog and Peach. Six of us were seated right on time at a table that was the perfect size for conversation. My drink was prepared expertly. The wine list is quite extensive, with reasonable prices. Serving staff were well-trained and helpful. Three of us had the Asian pear salad -- pretty in appearance and very tasty. For main courses, the "small plates" were actually more substantial that we expected....the scallops and hanger steak were all we would have wanted for a main course and were priced quite reasonably, so it wasn't completely necessary for us to have ordered other small plates in addition, but we did anyway and they were good. We didn't opt for dessert, so no comments there. If we return, we will skip the valet parking (under-staffed, slow and over-priced at $15) and just look for a spot on the street.

The menu selections were out of the ordinary, and each meal was prepared to perfection. The service was attentive but did not interfere with the table conversations. We were not rushed through our meal. The meal was not inexpensive, but well worth the price. The only complaint was the ability to find a parking spot - the valet parking was confusing, but there is a parking garage a short distance from the restaurant.

The main course is bad for everyone, I had fish but it tasted not fresh, my husband had lamp, it just tasted ok. my friend had beef, she could barely cut it into slices, it was so hard. However the appetizers are good, compared with main course.

disappointed experience.

Service was great, but was underwhelmed by the food and presentation. Also the hanger steck dish I ordered was not hot or even warm. The side that came with it was unappealing and also cold.

The tuna was excellent but the rest if the dishes were only fair.

Our overal experience in Frog and the peach was a good one. The food was reasonably priced, and the taste was fine. My only complain is about the service. We were celebrating a birthday party, and in my reservation I requested them to write a "Happy Birthday" Message on the dessert plate. I usually request such a thing when we celebrate a birthday in a restaurant. Since I didn't receive any reply from the restaurant, I supposed they'll do it. But they didn't! I guess if they can not meet the guests' expectations, they should have at least let me know before the party.

I have always been a big fan of F&TP, but was disappointed to find they had changed formats to primarily a small plate menu. While they have a few items that are more traditional portions, but bulk of the menu is now small plates. This can be fun, but I preferred the previous menu. Service and the wine list continue to be excellent.

I have been to the Frog and Peach many times over many years for business and special occasions. It remains on of the best spots in Central NJ. The menu is creative, broad and tasty, and uniformly well prepared and presented. The service is professional without being stuffy. Pre-fix lunch at $25 is a special value, including two courses and glass of wine. There are some very good wines at good prices.

The service is always great here. On Sun. night it was even better than usual. I like the idea if being able to bring wine in on Sun. without the customary corkage fee. The food is always great, and sometimes exceptional.

We were asked st least five times by several different waiters if we were ready for dessert. This was all within a matter of minutes and each time we said no, we hadn't looked at the menu. The restaurant was mostly empty so they weren't trying to get us out because they needed the table. It was really annoying. The waiters should coordinate to care for the patrons instead of being overzealous.

What a complete disappointment. We came here with friends to celebrate my wife's 45th birthday and absolutely regret it. Sitting in the Garden Room on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was about 50% occupied so the staff was not being pulled in too many directions yet it felt like they were disorganized and a bit frenetic. The entire evening ended up being an absolute (comical) disaster....good thing we were all drinking and didn't want complain too much and ruin the celebratory mood. We had to request bread (1 per person) and when someone requested more for the table, only one roll was provided. All of the food was well prepared and tasty, but the portions were so small it became a laughing point for everyone; the tuna tartar serving was literally the size of a tablespoon. The scallops were 4 per plate, each the size of a quarter. The hangar steak was 3 slivers...the list goes on, and on, and on. It was like a satirical tv commercial when the food is presented and the portion is one pea- I was embarrassed that I had requested our friends join us to celebrate here and they we're complaining (rightfully so) that they were starving. $650 and we literally felt like we needed to go to Steakhouse 85 afterwards to eat. NOW THE BEST PART: We left the restaurant and my friend gave his claim check to the valet... THEY LOST HIS CAR KEYS!!! We had to spend the next 2 HOURS searching for his car in the garage 3 blocks away, and then literally stood and waited for a locksmith to come and make a new key. One of the couples we were with ultimately needed to Uber home (40 min) so as to get back for the babysitter. We all laughed about our pending YELP reviews that would say "The Frog & The Peach: Pay $650 and sneak a sandwich in or you leave hungry....but you can't really leave because they've taken you car as payment".

It had been over a year that I visited F&P, the level of service and quality of the food have dropped since then. They seem to have problem finding decent waiters to work there, the quality of the service is in par with any casual dining.

Hi all! My wife wanted to go here to try the place for her birthday. We are new in the area and was looking for a place to try for our 1st night out in a while. The place was easy enough to find thankfully. The restaurant looked lovely and the lighting was very nice.

I guess I'll start by saying that we're not professional food critics and all that jazz but we've gone to quite a few establishments and think we have come to expect a few things as we try new restaurants. For starters, the service was pretty bad. No one came to ask if we were doing ok or the proverbial "How is everything?" I'm guessing it's because the servers employed were maybe socially inept or awkward? Not sure, but it really put a damper on things.

Now of course, the food. It was so bad that we barely finished. We didn't even take anything home. My wife had the Black Sea bass and it wasn't even cooked all the way. She also got the mashed potatoes with kale and onion I believe. This tasted bad. We cook mashed potatoes from scratch ourselves with just potatoes, milk butter, salt, pepper and it tasted miles better than what was served. We thought their version tasted like boxed mashed potatoes.

I had the Chicken breast. I ate some of it because I was pretty hungry and not too much of a picky eater. Unfortunately I found it tasted just like the fried half chicken you could get at Chinese take out place. That quickly turned me off. I had a side of the miso and sesame spinach. I thought it was ok at best. We declined the offer for more table bread. I wish we didn't though because that was the best thing we had there. The bread was nice and toasted to a crisp. I love my bread that way. They paired it with what I tasted to be a garlic butter. Very good.

Maybe it was an off night for the staff. I don't know. But I'm pretty sure we won't be going there again.

The food was good not great, the server should have been a little more forthcoming with what to expect. I ordered the octopus and the duck bolognese that came out as duck pate over two obnoxious slices of toasted bread-this was not an entree but in fact just an appetizer that was really just ok. If the server would have told us that the plates were small and we needed to order 3 items on the menu I think it would have made a difference. On the positive side the wine was excellent and the cheese board was a blessing as we needed something to fill us up a bit. This was not what I expected from a top rated restaurant so it would be difficult to go back.

The food here is excellent and we had attentive service by Megan. The menu has changed since our last visit and prices have been adjusted downwards. We started with steamed clams, which cane in a butternut squash broth, very different from the usual white wine and garlic, but very tasty. The clams were small and sweet!Main courses were swordfish and pork tenderloin. The plates were attractively presented.
My complaints.. first, the parking. The New Brunswick parking authority runs the valet service and after waiting a bit in a confused mess of cars, the valet came to the car. The price is $15 for the first 3 hours. This is highway robbery . We should have left and parked in a different deck and had a long walk. Second, upon being seated in an area of 5 tables by the bar, my husband complained about the cold air blowing on his bald head. We should have insisted on being moved but were told the air could be turned down. It wasn’t! We switched seats because I can handle a bit more of the draft but it was uncomfortable.
Lastly, I didn’t get any open table pints for my reservation. Perhaps they were not promised.. ?? I used open table almost exclusively for dining out and this will be the first time that I am clearly not getting point.
There are just too many restaurants to choose from....

I was surprised that the food quality was so poor. My daughters food was ? dumplings that tasted like saw dust and were too spicy. I got a tiny lump of cut pork that did not impress. My salad was tiny and the lettuce was soggy .What a shame.

Enjoyed another fantastic meal here, as expected. Chef Bruce does an excellent job putting out contemporary dishes with an old world French culinary feel to them. Also, they are a big supporter of the local community/soup kitchen and culinary school, which makes dining there that much more rewarding.

As has always been the case at this wonderful restaurant , the food was spectacular. We chose the five course seafood tasting with a wine pairing. Each wine was eloquently previewed by our server who described the reason each was chosen and what to expect from the wine. A superb experience and highly recommended. Please refer to the restaurant’s web site to preview the menu and its availability.

Dined with friends on a visit from South Jersey this past weekend. We have been to The Frog and The Peach several times, but wanted to introduce our friends to this great restaurant. The staff went above and beyond at the bar to satisfy my request, and everyone was cordial and professional. At dinner, the service was very accommodating, but not hovering. The meals were delicious, however, my Stuffed Squid special was rubbery and chewy. On the other hand, the Almond Cauliflower Puree was so delicious and flavorful. The other three enjoyed their entrees - Spanish Rabbit in Gose Beer, Griggstown Chicken Breast and Day Boat Scallops. We are already anxiously looking forward to our next trip to New Brunswick!

OVERRATED!! I have known about this place for years and my first time was not to be repeated. I must be spoiled living in Los Angeles, but even in Beverly Hills and Hollywood, no one charges $15 for valet parking! And they just stand around talking without even bothering to provide good service with a simple door opening. That was the first impression. Then, the food. Mediocre at best. The service was lacking confidence. High school students first job? Any restaurant critic would know the chef is lacking in creativity. The accompianments to the entrees were not complimentary. Surprisingly the scallop entree was $17, swordfish $25, not overpriced, but not worthy of visiting again. Reputation of this place has gone way downhill.

Would not recommend tasting menu at all.

Out of 5 dishes we only liked the fresh bread with fresh herb butter and dessert which were excellent. However we did not pay $65 a head for bread and dessert.

Oyster dish was overpowered by lemon creme. Very beautiful presentation however. Instagram dish.

Mackeral dish was very promising. However, it had huge chunks of sea salt which crunch exploded in your mouth. Very nice apple and onion. However, I think it needs more of those to balance the dish.

Tagiatelle was most promising dish. However there wasn't enough sauce. And scallops had sand. More evenly distributed sauce would've made this an A+ dish.

Lobster and sweetbread was very hard to pull off. The marinated? veggies were very overpowering. Puree + reduction was amazing. Lobster was bland however I didn't know what to use as a sauce. Sweetbread needed sauce. None of the garnishes provided really worked for the dish. However, garnishes minus the veggie on top were excellent.

Dessert was coconut and chocolate tarte. Very well executed.

Complimentary creme puffs were really good surprisingly memorable and delicious. One of the best creme puffs I've ever had.

Overall very confusing meal. However, the service was impeccable and the restaurant was very upscale and classy.
