PARKING: We have a small, free parking lot on the property, first come-first served. In addition, the City of New Brunswick provides valet parking in front of the restaurant. The Hyatt Hotel Church St. parking garages are one block away. At Lunch, there is additional metered parking on the street in front of the restaurant. See you in New Brunswick!
When we went we thought it might be a little crazy going to this place with out 4 kids... but we couldn’t resist! The food was great and our kids (ages 3-10) surprisingly loved it. The waiters were great with and were very nice and playful too. And the bill for 6 people was also not as high as we thought it would be. I also loved how there was three different options of what water we could order! So fun 100% recommended for a family!
All servers were very nice and helpful!
Parking was extremely difficult. Valet was full and so were all the lots nearby. Menu is a little odd to navigate. Service was lacking for an upscale restaurant. Dress code wasn’t enforced. Food portions were better than expected, fresh and tasty. I wouldn’t run back though.
Long time customer at The Frog. Been a while since we have been here. Atmosphere is always nice, service was good, food was also good, but prices are relatively high compared to other high end restaurants.
Amazing food and great service
The food was good and plenty, but for this money you also want an excellent meal. Nice selection of wine and a great atmosphere and design. Really enjoyed the evening! The dessert were amazing.
This was the worst meal we had at the Frog and Peach since we started going in 1993. Gnocchi app was tasteless. Med tenderloin came out well done. Salmon was raw. After being the special occasion go to restaurant for over 20 years, I think it is time to find another.
Always come to expect innovative and delicious food here - this last experience was just mediocre. Offerings were a little bit bland. Service was pleasant but hard to find at times, and they offered no insight or information on the food, and did not even identify the cheeses on the cheese plate. But it's possible Valentine's Day dinner is not a good night to judge either food or service.
Valentine's Prix fixe menu was a surprise since it wasn't posted online. At $89/pp, it was NOT a good value with the selection available (they were items from the regular dinner menu, nothing special to justify the price hike). Do not go here for Valentine's Day.
Another delightful meal at the F&P. However, the dessert tart was as hard as a rock (the figs and ice cream were fine), and had to be broken apart. When we informed our waiter (when he inquired how the dessert was), he graciously comped it. Good customer service.
Lovely experience. However, when I arrive for my noon reservation, I was informed that the sandwich menu was not available. It was strange to say the least. The server was apologetic and a wee bit embarrassed, too.
Service was very slow for not being crowded. Once, seated and ready to order, we were notified that unfortunately we couldn't order anything for the sandwich menu .. did not give a reason why (assuming the bread order didn't come in), so you had a limited number of items to order from.
Four of us ordered the Flank Steak - 2 medium well and 2 medium rare. They all came medium rare, we were on a time crunch so we did not send the food back. Not very appetizing at all. They other two folks at our table ordered the gnocchi and one ordered the scallops - they stated it was good.
I personally would not go back to the restaurant.
We were seated on the upper section of the upper floor. The ambience was clearly not the same as on the first floor. Also, the service was similarly deficient. While our initial food came out in a reasonable amount of time, we waited an unreasonable amount of time to order dessert and pay the check despite their knowledge that we needed to catch a play. Our waiter actually never did come back to our table, but we were able to order dessert and get the check from another waiter. The food was prepared well, but the portions were comically small. We ordered the lamb roulinade which was a tiny cylinder of lamb maybe 2" in diameter and less than two inches high. It would have been small for an appetizer, let alone a $24 main entree. We also paid $9 for what was written on the menu as truffle fries. Perhaps an expert might have detected some inclusion of truffle or truffle oil, but that was beyond my ability to detect. They were simply well prepared french fries. Maybe they were worth about $4.00 or even $5.00 in a pricey restaurant. We also paid $9.00 for brussel sprouts.
Was a wonderful evening and the food, drinks and service and ambiance were soot on as usual. Thank you so much!
Great waitstaff but slow bar. Overall, great date night
Food was ok.
I was disappointed with the portion size of the roasted duck. It was only a small medallion of duck and was served on top of a purée, also very scant with mushrooms on top. The taste was good but I needed to order an appetizer after my meal in order to feel satisfied. I definitely will not order that entree again.
We were seated in the extension which gets cool intermittently and is quite dark. I was sitting under one of the lights so I had no problems reading my menu. My friend however had to use the flashlight on her phone. Cocktails were unimpressive and watered down. Bread arrived hot accompanied by a few tiny rolls of butter. The chicken pate was delicious although a bit on the runny side. The pickled vegetables was a great accompaniment. I ordered the veal chop and had to order a separate side. I would expect that from a steak house, so I was surprised that nothing else was provided with the veal. The veal was cooked perfectly. Service was good. I wouldn’t call it friendly. It just felt like no one was happy, if that makes sense. All in all it was a good experience. I would suggest traveling 40 mins to get there but if your nearby, go.
Three in our party ordered fish. The salmon was overdone. The halibut needed butter or light spice; it had little flavor.
Delicious food, fantastic service, and a pleasant ambiance (we were in the outdoor area). The kind of quality you’d expect in Manhattan, but nearby! A great spot for an excellent (if somewhat pricier) meal.
My partner and I had a great time. The food was excellent. I had the fixed price menu with elk carpaccio, risotto, grilled octopus (excellent) and a goat cheese and honey desser (also excellent). She had the $1 Wellfleet oysters (excellent) and the cacio e Pepe (so so good). We had great conversations. We didn’t feel rushed at all.
It was excellent
The scallop luncheon dish on rolls of nori wrapped around noodles was very interesting and delicious
The Black Truffle Gnocchi is to die for. Service was slow which is unusual but there was a private party going on. Always an excellent meal never any complaints about the food
We made a reservation through opentable to celebrate our anniversary at the restaurant. The service was amazing,... they server recommended the wine and we loved it. We ordered the smoked salmon and the gnocchi .. loved the taste and the presentation. The Creme brulee is outstandingly good! Loved the service.. they surprised us with an anniversary cookie platter and champagne to top it off!Thank you frog and peach staff.
A charming place to dine. Wonderful food and great service.
Excellent meal, as always. One of the best, if not the best restaurant in New Jersey. Tonight we primarily had seafood, and every dish was cooked and prepared perfectly.
Overall very good; however given its reputation, it should have been excellent. Service was a bit slow on drinks and desserts were way too sweet.
The place is very nice and nice atmosphere. Food from appetizers-entree to dessert was Bon appetite / services was great. Very relaxing and didn’t rush you out the restaurant. I would go back there again
The food and service really missed the mark. I went for my birthday dinner. Our sides did not come with our main dishes. The waiter spilled my water and wine. There was no friendliness or attentiveness. The food was not seasoned enough. The brussel sprouts were good because they were seasoned! We just wanted to get the check and leave. I will not be returning. Their standards are not the same as the used to be. You should receive way better service for this type of fine dining. At the end and after we paid the bill they remembered it was my bday and brought out a plate with 3 mini chocolate coins. Not worth it and highly disappointed.
The decor and ambiance at the Frog and Peach are lovely. Food was very good, in general wine and small plates were a bit stronger than the larger plates. Above all I would say the wait staff is excellent--extremely warm, helpful and professional.
Great food and service. However, I couldn’t figure out the vibe of this place. Is this high end restaurant for older crowd, or restaurant with really high prices? What’s the deal with the restaurant?
This restaurant is an old favorite we have not gone to for a while and unfortunately we won't be back. The menu was weird....trying too hard. How do $1 oysters fit with salsify, rabbit and veal tartare? Service was unpolished (limited menu knowledge, failure to bring items we ordered, delivering food to the wrong people). There was beer delivered in a bottle with no glass ( ok for more casual locations but not fine dining). The parking situation is a mess. Overall we were really unimpressed and feel the restaurant has lost its focus. Dontvtry to be all things to all people. Hoping they find their footing again.
It's always a treat to be at the F&P. Unfortunately, we found the service this time to be overbearing with at least 4 waitpersons stopping by on a regular basis to ask if everything was okay -- too much, too intrusive. The timing of things was also off when we had our appetizers delivered before the cocktails had arrived - not major but an annoyance given that it wasn't busy when we were there and no obvious reason why drinks would be considerably delayed.
Service & food was good, I don’t care for the somewhat heated enclosed patio on a January evening. Next time indoor table a must, especially in winter. Strangely I’ve had this reservation since early December.
We enjoyed a Prix fixe New New Year's Eve meal here. The food was pretty uniformly excellent from the amuse bouche through the main course, and dessert was, if not as perfect, still quite good. The service was more variable. The head server was attentive and knowledgeable but we had to wait for odds and ends for the table now and again. Not a big deal and we would definitely return!
The staff handled the New Year's Eve fixe prix dinner with fluency and attention. Never disappointed at Frog and the Peach!
A terrific bday celebration location!! But you are going to spend some money...
The menu has a lot of ‘different’ things but nothing complete that either my husband or I really cared for. It’s fun to have a few crazy items but to have almost no entrees that we’re high end without being overly complicated was the reason we will not be back. We have been before entertaining high end clients but will not return. Service was ‘Okay’. Waiter must have been new since he was super nervous and not confident in explaining the additions which is a weird way of saying specials since additions means something you add to a dish not the dish it’s self. This place tries to be something that it’s not.
The food and service are great! I highly recommend this place!
