Had an amazing meal with great service! I highly recommend this restaurant.
A unique eatery serving well-presented,tasty fare. we are from out of the area so took a shot for a pre-show meal. We were very pleased. Service and food very, very nice. Unusual menu items. We thoroughly enjoyed
We enjoyed a birthday celebration dinner and every aspect of our meal was curated to please the palate without being pretentious.
Sadly, this year's Thanksgiving dinner was not up to it's usual standards. I have previously enjoyed this meal much more. The food was not hot and when I requested some hot gravy it took so long that even that did little to improve overall quality. While I anxiously awaited dessert, this was an even bigger disappointment. The pumpkin custard was lackluster and the little pecan coffee cake was so dense and tasteless it did not offer a good ending. Will have to reconsider before returning😞
Fantastic Thanksgiving meal
Great food and service. Parking for customers not adequate and lighting while dining was too dim.
FOR THE AMOUNT OF FOOD WE GOT IT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. I HAD TO SENT BACK MY SALMON BECAUSE IT WAS NOT COOKED ENOUGH & MY PARTNER HAD TO DO THE SAME WITH HER STEAK.
THE VEGETABLES THAT WERE SERVED WITH THE MEAL WERE HORRIBLE & THE DESERT WAS NOT VERY GOOD EITHER. OVERALL I FELT WE GOT ROBBED AT THIS RESTAURANT FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF OVER $200.00 FOR 2 MEALS. NEVER AGAIN.
I am never one to write an online review, however, I feel compelled to after a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. Although the ambiance was nice and the food was good, our experience was ruined by just absolutely terrible service. It took over 15 minutes for a server to arrive take our order. He never asked if we had questions about the menu, dietary restrictions etc--all things you would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. Once our food came, he never returned to the table to see how things were or to ask if we needed anything else. We felt totally ignored from the time we arrived. Finally, the young man who wrapped our food to go at the end of the night neglected to wrap the remains of an expensive veal chop my husband was planning to take home. We certainly did not feel we got what we paid for or expected out of this dinner, and we would never go back or recommend it.
The service was mediocre, the food worse, and the prices were excessive for both. Plus, I had to pay for their parking service. LAST TIME FOR US.
Many of the ingredients on the menu were not familiar to me - that's my fault. However, the preparation of the food was the restaurant's fault! I ordered a salad to start the meal and it was very tart. Too much vinegar? And I like vinegar - always making an oil and vinegar dressing for my salads at home. For the main, I decided to order the skirt steak. It was swimming in a brownish yellowish sauce that completely masked the taste of the beef. And who could identify what the vegetables were under the steak? They were drowning in the sauce, also.
On the positive side, the service was wonderful and the Creme Brule dessert was top notch.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant and would not recommend it.
A great dinner with my daughter for her 21st birthday. Amazing service and excellent food. Great wine list too.
Will surely visit again
I cannot wait to go back. The service and staff were unbelievable. The food was so amazing AND the gluten free bread was unreal.
The attentiveness to my allergies and making sure that our meals were perfect made the night. They even had nonalcoholic drinks.
This place is a 15/10.
Wait staff seemed inexperienced. Really rushed us then backed when they realized we were not going anywhere. Food was good but staff needs to be more chill.
Good food, but service was an absolute nightmare. Had it not been for the great company of friends and everyone’s humor and patience, this easily qualifies as the absolute worse dining experience our entire group has ever had. Some of the highlights included multiple attempts to get drink orders right, with 3 tries on single malt scotch that ranged between the wrong brand to spilling half a Cosmo into the scotch glass and STILL serving us the drink. The evening lasted three hours with fits and starts and constant corrections of wrong or delayed orders. Long and short, will never go here again.
ive always loved this place...had not been in over 10 years and its still awesome...we went for lunch and the rabbit was superb!!!
Great food, attentive waiter. There were a few less experienced waiters that assisted the main waiter and caused a bit of confusion. The main waiter was responsive, proactive with food allergies, and personable. Value was great during restaurant week. We were seated close to a private event, so that raised the noise level at times. Overall great experience and we hope to return.
The food was great. Service was extremely slow. Took at least 10 minutes for server to greet us and at least another 10 minutes to get a drink. Received 2nd round of drinks when we were almost done with entrees.
Our second time having dinner here. Both times we were greeted by the valet only to discover they had no space left for us. Service is excellent as were our appetizers and drinks. We both opted for the Wagyu strip steak and we were both disappointed. We both ordered it medium and my wife’s came out mooing. After it was taken to the kitchen to cook a bit more we both started to eat a very tough, grizzle filled steak. Super disappointing.
We had a lovely time overall. My nephew ordered the veal tartar and it tasted like fish. That was disappointing. Otherwise it was a fabulous dining experience. We were also given the wrong dessert menus but once that mixup was corrected, the actual desserts were fabulous.
Birthday celebration. Frog & Peach made it a wonderful night. Food was terrific.
Area we were seated in the back of the restaurant was very dingy and cellar-like, not a nice atmosphere. Menu description of food was not a good description of food. Food was good but very pricey for small portion size. Did not feel like fine dining.
Does not have adequate parking. Had to pay for parking at a nearby hotel lot.
Always outstanding food and service.
After waiting for the right occasion to visit this restaurant it was unfortunately a bit underwhelming. The valet parking is a bit dodgy and shared with another restaurant/club. The food was average at best and not the quality I expected. The wine we ordered tasted stale but passable. A sign of poor storage.
One and done for me.
Great experience! Came for dinner and decided on the peach tasting menu. Each dish was amazing. I plan on returning very soon!
A restaurant that is clearly trying to live up to the reputation that it has had for a very long time, but doesn't quite make it there.
Food great, service was extremely slow and took way too long for a lunch. My client needed to get up from the table as the wait was getting ridiculous
Very nice lunch; good to see that portion size has improved.
Our first visit back to The Frog and the Peach in a long time. The food is as good as ever. Creative, plated beautifully, and most importantly, it was delicious. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgable. The wine list is varied with a good selection. Valet parking is available and is reasonably priced.
This place was nice. Small but very cozy and did not feel over-crowded. Despite being in downtown New Brunswick we were able to find parking, since they have a small reserved lot for their customers. The service was good. The food was was okay, it was not amazing though. The one thing I did have an issue with is where we sat. Everyone was seated downstairs except for us. I am not sure if that is where they seat patrons who who make reservations in advance (since I had made a reservation) or if we were just the "exception". Our party of 4 did not mind in the end, but it is something that we wondered after seeing that no one was seated near us and there was plenty of seating downstairs.
We sat out in the patio with only about 3 other tables so there was little or no noise and the waiters were attentive and quick with the meals.
Just a little comment about the amount of time it took to order wine and then for the wine to arrive, with the appetizer this was annoying since I had ordered the fois gras and wanted the wine on hand as I ate instead of with the last two bites. But it was certainly ok.
I had the fois gras which was prepared a little differently than I have had before but it was, wonderful.. as I recall it was served on a small English muffin and Taylor ham and quail egg on top. A little weird but with the peach purée, there was a wonderful fruity taste that allowed the concoction to melt in you mouth. Delicious.
I had the salmon prepared just slightly medium and it was cooked exactly as I like. There again the proportion was large, with this purée/ sauce made of lemon fennel that I just couldn’t get enough of. All wonderful, very well prepared , and great it’s the Wine I had, a rich Oregon Pinot in a burgundy style that did the fish well. You gotta try the artichoke side made with olives and small tiny croutons for a bit of crunchiness. Very well prepared.
My wife had the beet salad, which I have to say was delicious. I am usually not a fan, but this was made with cheese and walnuts and I believe pieces of peach to give it a great taste not overwhelmingly beets, but more delicately beets. She had the swordfish, another big portion. It was grilled and prepared with a ginger sauce that she loved. Her side was a cauliflower and peas and carrots, very crunchy and not my wife’s taste. But she loved everything and as a chef herself and often an impossible critic, she gave everything a two thumbs up. All good, all enjoyable, and all quiet and at our pace.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone, maybe better don on an off night like the one we had! Very good night out.
The chef and sommelier at this place are incredible. I am never disappointed when I go to this fine establishment. The Hanger steak was the best we have ever tasted.
Thanks good was different and not great
I would recommend for a romantic dinner if one lives nearby .
First Time out food was great other than a little mishap that was never addressed dont want to shame anyone just unsatisfied is all
I love a chef’s tasting...I seek them out whenever I get to choose a dinner location, but I should have taken heed to other reviews that suggested that we stay clear of The Frog and the Peach. Short version: server was unknowledgeable of menu, after informing her of a food allergy she served the wrong plates, and after we questioned it she switched the plates at the table. Our main course was inedible we both sent them back- our server said she saw they the dishes didn’t look right, but she served them anyway, we were told that a ‘lower’ chef prepared them. This issue was rectified but buying each of us a drink- but I was still hungry :(
+ note, the back end waiter Justin was a star- he did a great job.
I've been coming to Frog for special occasions over the past 20 years. I've always been satisfied with the great food and service. On my last visit, the food was excellent as always - but I was a little disappointed with the service. We were seated around 7:45, and after 25 minutes, no one had visited our table. No water, no request for a drink order, no bread, nothing - and the restaurant wasn't even busy. I flagged down the water guy (who finally gave us some water) and asked him about our waiter. Ten minutes later our servers (one for drinks, the other for food) finally introduced themselves. After that, the experience was good. Victor (our waiter) did a great job; his swordfish recommendation was on point. The peach carpaccio and smoked salmon appetizers were good too. But there's no excuse for seating guests and then completely ignoring them for half an hour. I'm hoping this was just a bad day and I won't experience the same issues on my next visit.
This was my first time at this highly recommended restaurant. I took clients out for dinner and it was close to the worst experience I’ve ever had at a fine restaurant
We had been many fine dining restaurants around the globe such as in Tokyo, Barcelona, Florence & Lima . This restaurant did not give me the "WOW" factors. Food was OK. I do think the prices are high and the service was poor. They did not fill up our water and clean up the crumbs from the table. In addition, the server took away my bread wthout asking me.
Overall a very nice restaurant with an eclectic food menu. Nice cocktail and wine list. Very nice ambience.
