It was excellent
The scallop luncheon dish on rolls of nori wrapped around noodles was very interesting and delicious
The Black Truffle Gnocchi is to die for. Service was slow which is unusual but there was a private party going on. Always an excellent meal never any complaints about the food
We made a reservation through opentable to celebrate our anniversary at the restaurant. The service was amazing,... they server recommended the wine and we loved it. We ordered the smoked salmon and the gnocchi .. loved the taste and the presentation. The Creme brulee is outstandingly good! Loved the service.. they surprised us with an anniversary cookie platter and champagne to top it off!Thank you frog and peach staff.
A charming place to dine. Wonderful food and great service.
Excellent meal, as always. One of the best, if not the best restaurant in New Jersey. Tonight we primarily had seafood, and every dish was cooked and prepared perfectly.
Overall very good; however given its reputation, it should have been excellent. Service was a bit slow on drinks and desserts were way too sweet.
The place is very nice and nice atmosphere. Food from appetizers-entree to dessert was Bon appetite / services was great. Very relaxing and didn’t rush you out the restaurant. I would go back there again
The food and service really missed the mark. I went for my birthday dinner. Our sides did not come with our main dishes. The waiter spilled my water and wine. There was no friendliness or attentiveness. The food was not seasoned enough. The brussel sprouts were good because they were seasoned! We just wanted to get the check and leave. I will not be returning. Their standards are not the same as the used to be. You should receive way better service for this type of fine dining. At the end and after we paid the bill they remembered it was my bday and brought out a plate with 3 mini chocolate coins. Not worth it and highly disappointed.
The decor and ambiance at the Frog and Peach are lovely. Food was very good, in general wine and small plates were a bit stronger than the larger plates. Above all I would say the wait staff is excellent--extremely warm, helpful and professional.
Great food and service. However, I couldn’t figure out the vibe of this place. Is this high end restaurant for older crowd, or restaurant with really high prices? What’s the deal with the restaurant?
This restaurant is an old favorite we have not gone to for a while and unfortunately we won't be back. The menu was weird....trying too hard. How do $1 oysters fit with salsify, rabbit and veal tartare? Service was unpolished (limited menu knowledge, failure to bring items we ordered, delivering food to the wrong people). There was beer delivered in a bottle with no glass ( ok for more casual locations but not fine dining). The parking situation is a mess. Overall we were really unimpressed and feel the restaurant has lost its focus. Dontvtry to be all things to all people. Hoping they find their footing again.
It's always a treat to be at the F&P. Unfortunately, we found the service this time to be overbearing with at least 4 waitpersons stopping by on a regular basis to ask if everything was okay -- too much, too intrusive. The timing of things was also off when we had our appetizers delivered before the cocktails had arrived - not major but an annoyance given that it wasn't busy when we were there and no obvious reason why drinks would be considerably delayed.
Service & food was good, I don’t care for the somewhat heated enclosed patio on a January evening. Next time indoor table a must, especially in winter. Strangely I’ve had this reservation since early December.
We enjoyed a Prix fixe New New Year's Eve meal here. The food was pretty uniformly excellent from the amuse bouche through the main course, and dessert was, if not as perfect, still quite good. The service was more variable. The head server was attentive and knowledgeable but we had to wait for odds and ends for the table now and again. Not a big deal and we would definitely return!
The staff handled the New Year's Eve fixe prix dinner with fluency and attention. Never disappointed at Frog and the Peach!
A terrific bday celebration location!! But you are going to spend some money...
The menu has a lot of ‘different’ things but nothing complete that either my husband or I really cared for. It’s fun to have a few crazy items but to have almost no entrees that we’re high end without being overly complicated was the reason we will not be back. We have been before entertaining high end clients but will not return. Service was ‘Okay’. Waiter must have been new since he was super nervous and not confident in explaining the additions which is a weird way of saying specials since additions means something you add to a dish not the dish it’s self. This place tries to be something that it’s not.
The food and service are great! I highly recommend this place!
Christmas Eve dinner. Ordered tuna sashimi appetizer and was very disappointed. Extremely small portion size. Barely enough for a forkful at a price of $14.00. My steak was rather fatty lacking any real hint of added taste from the seasoning and sauce. The brussel sprouts were overcooked. The server forgot to bring an order of truffle fries, but remembered to bill me for it. Thankfully I caught the overcharged item and had it corrected. I was charged for each club soda without free refills...disappointing. The Creme brûlée’s was the bright spot. Oversized portion for dessert. Unfortunately I was only given a half a cup of coffee and charged $4.50 for it to boot. Way too much money for a restaurant in the heart of New Brunswick, NJ. I’d expect these prices in the heart of Manhattan.
The bar looked very inviting and ability to purchase small plates at the bar was good.
We ate in the main dining room and food was outstanding.
There were a few people that dined in the covered patio area but we were not offered that as an option. May have been a private event.
My food was pretty good, but my husband's was not. I had oysters, a veal chop and asparagus. He had the soup and a steak. I ordered a martini, but the hostess wasn't sure they could make one and had to confirm with the bartender. They did make it, but it wasn't very good. Unlike many, many other restaurants, they also didn't have a gluten free menu. I had wanted the pate, but they had no g.f. crackers - only bread - which, incidentally, they didn't serve me when they brought the rolls. They did bring my husband a birthday'dessert. We had asked for a quiet spot, but we were seated between two other tables although there was another nearly empty room where several folks were dining when we left. I had been to The Frog and the Peach many years ago - twice. And had the same impression then. I don't know why this place is consistently rated as a top restaurant in the state.
Great food. Definitely interesting and different menu. Service slow and not attentive though. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry.
We had a very nice quiet table. I was surprised by and loved the garden atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their food and dessert. It was the first time I had Monk fish and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Parking extremely difficult. Thought the food overall was ok. Service was good.
Everything we ordered was delicious. The service was impeccable. No complaints here at all. Definitely heading back.
Lovely venue, lack luster food and service. Why pay this much for that? Keep it simple and get really good service from Ruth's Chris or make your way into NYC for seriously delicious fine dining. You won't be embarrassed if you are trying to impress a client. But don't expect much for the money other than a menu that is well thought out with mediocre execution.
Had an amazing meal with great service! I highly recommend this restaurant.
A unique eatery serving well-presented,tasty fare. we are from out of the area so took a shot for a pre-show meal. We were very pleased. Service and food very, very nice. Unusual menu items. We thoroughly enjoyed
We enjoyed a birthday celebration dinner and every aspect of our meal was curated to please the palate without being pretentious.
Awesome! We went for Thanksgiving and the food was fantastic, the waitstaff was very professional and everything about the evening was excellent! I had a gift certificate from 1995 and they honored it! The Frog and the Peach is a class act restaurant and it is definitely worth the drive from Philadelphia. We can't wait to return! Thank you for a lovely evening and Happy New Year!
Sadly, this year's Thanksgiving dinner was not up to it's usual standards. I have previously enjoyed this meal much more. The food was not hot and when I requested some hot gravy it took so long that even that did little to improve overall quality. While I anxiously awaited dessert, this was an even bigger disappointment. The pumpkin custard was lackluster and the little pecan coffee cake was so dense and tasteless it did not offer a good ending. Will have to reconsider before returning😞
Fantastic Thanksgiving meal
Great food and service. Parking for customers not adequate and lighting while dining was too dim.
FOR THE AMOUNT OF FOOD WE GOT IT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. I HAD TO SENT BACK MY SALMON BECAUSE IT WAS NOT COOKED ENOUGH & MY PARTNER HAD TO DO THE SAME WITH HER STEAK.
THE VEGETABLES THAT WERE SERVED WITH THE MEAL WERE HORRIBLE & THE DESERT WAS NOT VERY GOOD EITHER. OVERALL I FELT WE GOT ROBBED AT THIS RESTAURANT FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF OVER $200.00 FOR 2 MEALS. NEVER AGAIN.
I am never one to write an online review, however, I feel compelled to after a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. Although the ambiance was nice and the food was good, our experience was ruined by just absolutely terrible service. It took over 15 minutes for a server to arrive take our order. He never asked if we had questions about the menu, dietary restrictions etc--all things you would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. Once our food came, he never returned to the table to see how things were or to ask if we needed anything else. We felt totally ignored from the time we arrived. Finally, the young man who wrapped our food to go at the end of the night neglected to wrap the remains of an expensive veal chop my husband was planning to take home. We certainly did not feel we got what we paid for or expected out of this dinner, and we would never go back or recommend it.
The service was mediocre, the food worse, and the prices were excessive for both. Plus, I had to pay for their parking service. LAST TIME FOR US.
Many of the ingredients on the menu were not familiar to me - that's my fault. However, the preparation of the food was the restaurant's fault! I ordered a salad to start the meal and it was very tart. Too much vinegar? And I like vinegar - always making an oil and vinegar dressing for my salads at home. For the main, I decided to order the skirt steak. It was swimming in a brownish yellowish sauce that completely masked the taste of the beef. And who could identify what the vegetables were under the steak? They were drowning in the sauce, also.
On the positive side, the service was wonderful and the Creme Brule dessert was top notch.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant and would not recommend it.
A great dinner with my daughter for her 21st birthday. Amazing service and excellent food. Great wine list too.
Will surely visit again
I cannot wait to go back. The service and staff were unbelievable. The food was so amazing AND the gluten free bread was unreal.
The attentiveness to my allergies and making sure that our meals were perfect made the night. They even had nonalcoholic drinks.
This place is a 15/10.
