The Frog and the Peach has succeeded in maintaining its excellent food and service over the years. We’ve been going to this restaurant for many years and have not been disappointed. This most recent dinner celebrated out 47th anniversary. Dinner was superb, the service was very attentive, the dinner rolls were the best we’ve had in years and dessert ended our celebration in style. Thank you!
We started with a California Syrah at the old-fashioned bar by the window and served by a friendly funny bartender. For dinner we sat in the garden room, an enclosed outdoor space with a view of the quiet picturesque cul-de-sac. We started with hot crusty Portuguese rolls that were very good but the herb-infused butter was not to my liking. The hanger steak was cooked exactly to order and the arugula and sun dried tomato salad was good but not especially flavorful. The salted beet salad was a success; it included unexpected slivers of smoked salmon so fish-avoiders beware! We finished with an unusual sorbet trio: tarragon strawberry (interesting), apple cider (cinnamony, not bad) and blueberry peach (my favorite, tasted like raspberry). All in all a good meal for a decent price with attentive pleasant servers in a nice setting. My friend was pleased with the choice.
The service was excellent, the employees were friendly, and the food was exceptional. I will come again!
It was lovely. Food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend
The duck made me feel nice inside my loins
The Frog and the Peach exemplifies “foodie” dining choices in New Brunswick. From tasting menus to special events this is a foodie paradise. Service was as efficient and courteous as usual, and our server was very knowledgeable. I couldn’t decide between two appetizers and two entrees so I left it in his capable hands. Expect a decent sized bill and parking can be tricky aside from valet.
Another great meal. Will continue returning. Had the bone marrow, short rib and flank steak.
The staff was very helpful and the duck from the tasting menu was fantastic. I love the pork rillons as well. This is our new go-to place because the food is always excellent.
We had a wonderful evening. We had the Beef Wellington special of the evening. The meat was cooked to perfection. The sauce was special with a small dish of green beans. I could have had more vegetables but the meal was wonderful. Attentive service. It has been a while since I have been to this restaurant but I will return again soon.
Excellent service. Very fine food.
So salty. Avoid escargot and rabbit. Very disappointed
The waitress was warm, and the establishment was kind to us celebrating our anniversary - complementary champagne, and Happy Anniversary candles and words on dessert. Quite enjoyable. Definitely something we'll do again.
Tried the peach tasting menu. It was fantastic. Great dining experience, as always.
The place to see and be seen in New Brunswick never disappoints - excellent service combined with a unique and flavorful menu that is always changing. My colleague and I were in town for a meeting and the restaurant was buzzing from the moment we arrived and was packed once we left. We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers, meals and desserts - will definitely be back again!
The Frog & The Peach delivered the quiet, romantic, & delicious 20th anniversary dinner that we wanted. The food was magnificent, very tasty and well portioned (not huge). The staff were professional and handled our needs. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant!
Found the 60 dollar off offer very misleading with the 5 course tasting. Asked my server if the discount was going on and he said yes. Failed to mention (as does the website) that the discount is 60 dollars off BOTH meals. Was very surprised to see the bill being what it was. Peaches on the peach carpaccio were very under ripened. Only protein served during the meal was one lamb tbone( nicely cooked) . Having four of the courses being lighter (oysters, peach carpaccio, burratta and dessert) I was left underwhelmed and hunger. Way too expensive for too little food, wish we would of just done al la carte.
Dinner was sublime.
Evening could not have been any better. Food, as expected, was excellent. Cozy, easy to have intimate conversation, perfect for that special occasion with that special someone !
With the moderate prices, this can easily become your favorite "go to " restaurant.
It was all great! Food. Service. Environment. Well spaced tables.
We have lived in NJ a long time and have dined at a lot of good restaurants but had never been to The Frog and Peach until now. We will be back. The noise level was at a minimum so its a great place for a nice evening on a date or with family and friends.
A+ all around.
Great food with exotic dishes and very friendly service. Noise level perfecto
Service was excellent. Food OK.One of my guest scallops were overdone. Portions small for the price you pay. wine recommendation was excellent
We had a nice experience here at the Frog and Peach. The portions were just right and we left feeling satisfied.
Went here for my 3-year anniversary with my girlfriend and we had a great time. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! Great ambiance and conveniently located.
A really lovely evening - the food and wine were great. We felt like very special guests.
Was looking forward to finally visiting this restaurant which was 50+ miles from my home. Made reservations a week in advance for a Tuesday evening for our 25th wedding anniversary. When we arrived the maitre d' immediately gave us attitude. When the hostess asked us if we wanted patio seating, he shushed her and told her to give us a table inside. The food, although good, did not live up to my expectations. The service was pleasant, but no better than any other upscale restaurant. We will not be returning.
The Frog & The Peach always pleases. My wife and I dine here several times per year and have brought the kids, although some (most?) might find that a pricey option for a large family. My four-year old (now 26) fell in love with foie gras here. We brought him and his girlfriend this weekend to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. I used to make my own wine selections, but the sommelier is excellent with pairings, and it is fun to explore. They are currently offering a peach-themed menu (but no frog) [for the reference, find Peter Cook & Dudley Moore's comedy routine from the '60's, "The Frog and The Peach", and , no, they don't cook that way!].
The Frog and the Peach was an exquisite dining experience. Not only was the food delectable, the waitstaff was very courteous and kind. The mahi mahi was a little too salty for my liking, by everything else was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for some fine dining in New Brunswick.
Excellent place. The staff was awesome and the food was even better.
A very good experience; I always enjoy the food and wines, here!
Inattentive, seemingly inexperience service. Chicken dish improperly seasoned, very salty. A disappointment vs previous experiences years past.
service was wonderful and food was excellent; great date night spot; will come here again!
Been coming here since the late ‘80s. Never disappointed food is always fabulous always creative. Service is amazing. No wonder it is always on the Best in NJ. List- year after year!
Splendid ambience and service. Wine list is imperssive and varied. Most dishes were wonderful -- especially the salmon with polenta and tomatillo sauce - a wonderful blend of flavors and textures that married well. Mahi Mahi on the other hand, was a bit dry and bland. Chef seems to have a fondness for tall/stacked food (tomato salad, mahi mahi). I thought we were well rid of that annoying trend with the start of the new millennium. Hopeful thinking, apparently.
Interesting menu, attentive service. Impressed by the presentation and quality of the gem salad and an interesting soup of the day: chorizo and poblano chile, beautifully done. My guest had scallops, which looked fanatastic. Eager to return.
Fantastic food and great service. This place is definitely a gem of the neighborhood!
Meal was good, not great. Felt menu was a little limited. Drink price very high!
The food was interesting, creative and very well prepared and presented. The service was mediocre at best. It seemed like college kids with limited knowledge of the art of hospitality and service, even though they were friendly and nice.
The experience was outstanding. My husband and I had the Peach Festival dinner with pairing. We only wish the times could have been a little more paced, so we could enjoy it more. I think the restaurant service is just used to bring the next plate as soon as they see you’re about to be done with the one on the table. We should’ve told them, also, I think they would’ve accommodate. But we absolutely loved it and highly recommend it!!!
My husband & I enjoy going to the restaurant's peach festival, and this year decided to try a mid-week visit. The duck confit appetizer was outstanding, and I was able to order the lamb chop with a peach salsa off the prix fixe peach tasting menu. The tender chop was perfectly cooked and the salsa provided a sweet counterpoint. Unfortunately, the meal was not served properly, with my entree arriving a full 3 to 4 minutes before my husband's steak arrived. Also, after taking our orders and having some small talk with her, our server vanished, and we were served by someone else for the rest of the meal. This baffled us: was it a shift change? an inexperienced server being called elsewhere in the restaurant? a mid-week gaffe?
Perhaps we should go back to Saturday dining.
Nice location, quiet, and great service. Quite disappointed with the rabbit recommendation in the menu as it lacked presentation, tastes salty and saucy. On the other hand, the duck had good presentation but the serving is too small, just like an appetizer. We came here because of their high rating in Open Table, but its probably this high rating too that raised up our expectation and ended up disappointed.
