The Newly renovated French room did not disappoint. The food was superb and the service was excellent. Now I’ll say we got a more personal service before the renovation but the current service was still above average.
Overall experience was fantastic to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. It was very romantic.
Very gracious yet warm and friendly service. Meals were outstanding and artistically presented.
Outstanding in every way, food, ambiance, service,
This was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The team there at the French Room was phenomenal from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
Tea time. Portions are smaller than I remember but delicious enough. I wish they offered more than a couple of type of teas to pick from instead of their pick.
Very elegant environment. Great wine and wine service. Excellent tasting menu. If you like French food, it will be a great experience.
Pricey, especially on Caviar; outstanding service; small portions, wonderful ambiance, great to have complimentary valet parking; great post-wedding and monthiversary
My wife and I celebrated our 50+ years of marriage at the French Room and it could not have been better. The food was excellent, beautiful plating and served at the appropriate temperature. The service was very personal and interested in being sure that we were pleased with everything- which we were. While it was not inexpensive, for our occasion, we felt like there was value.
The atmosphere was sublime except for the music. The food was excelle y and the waitstaff well above the bar.
Enjoyed the degustation menu very much....Just right pacing, exacting portions, and great story overall.
Unsure what to select we opted to experience the dégustation, along with wine pairing from the regular and premium selections (though both were of high quality). It was fun to see what wines had been paired with each dish and have them explained to us. We were also able to appreciate the difference between the two wines, and in every instance (even for a non connoisseur) the premium selection was always discernible as having much more character. The food was amazing. I cannot fault a single item. The staff were very attentive. The ambiance was relaxed and quiet and perfect setting to enjoy the company of your guests.
Food and service were impeccable. It was a little too quiet for my liking but was very intimate for my wife's 50th birthday.
Birthday food war grat
Great food and impeccable service.
Very good experience, beautiful physical plant, compared to other restaurants of this very high caliber, this one was overpriced ; itwould have been excellent at roughly 2/3 of the cost
Disappointing. The casual atmosphere (tieless maitre ‘d) replaced the elegance of before. We missed the cherubs on the ceiling of before. We missed the after-dinner banana bread of before. But mostly, we missed the VIP service that was once afforded all of their patrons of before. Honestly, our service at an IHOP earlier in the week was superior to our experience here.
The food was alright, not a lot of selection, this is the third time I have been there and if my choice would be my last, except my wife likes the restaurant. Extremely overpriced. Two people, a couple drinks and with tip almost 500.00.
Made a reservation at The French room about a month ago. Unfortunately we received a call that on short notice the whole restaurant got book for a corporate event. However, they offered to move us to the next week, and in return would comp our whole meal! I was a little skeptical at first, but that is exactly what happened! We went with the five course wine pairing meal. What a gastronomical experience! Our waiting staff could not have been more attentive an nice. We will gladly return for full price in the near future!
The service was superb from reservation confirmation to walking out! The service was superb, food out of this world good and the atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed. The pace of the dinner was great and out server Audrey was attentive but respectful. I enjoyed this experience very very much and I’ll be back to experience the tasting menu!
We had a wonderful time! Leslie, Connie with perfect pairing of wine for each course!
Always first class. Great food and excellent service. Wonderful place for a special occasion.
The French Room truly lived up to its name. Our main server/sommelier Mason and the other staff were outstanding. The food was inventive and delicious. High recommend to all, especially on special occasions which for us was a 20 year wedding anniversary.
Our first time back at the French Room since it was reopened in the fall of 2017 after an extensive remodeling was a pleasure. A small crowd kept the service personal and the noise level low. Service was attentive. Food was excellent (even though the restaurant apparently is on its third executive chef in 18 months). We had an unhurried 3-hour dining experience that we're relishing a week later.
Highly recommend the afternoon tea.
Amazing food...tremendous service...epic experience!
My wife and I were very disappointed in our French Room experience:
-sterile atmosphere after remodel (painted over beautiful murals)
-extremely limited menu choices
-menu changes (e.g.: one soufflé choice with chilled ingredients (more like cake with raspberries than souflee), goose liver pate vs seared foie gras-just not the same)
-clearly a new chef with different (less appealing) menu
-price value just not there any more-I expect to pay a premium at the FR, but expect a premium experience
-long term maitre d' absent
-the whole experience has lost its special, elegant feel, not likely to return under current format
Dinner at the French Room is an amazing experience. Everyone made us feel like royalty and went out of their way to make our experience special. We had the chef tasting menu with wine pairings and every course was thoughtfully prepared. Each wine pairing was perfect with its course. I can't wait to come back.
Elegant surroundings set the tone for a 5-star dining experience. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The food is creative and delicious. If you’re visiting Dallas and want a truly memorable dining experience, The French Room is not to be missed.
We happily chose The French Room to celebrate our very special 2nd wedding anniversary. We were delighted in our choice because of three things: wonderful service from every staff member in the restaurant from host staff to our waiter, phenomenal food and presentation, and the attention to little details. We will most definitely be back because it was food heaven! Our sommelier knows her stuff and helped us pick out the most beautifully, bodied wine to match our Italian taste buds and was absolutely beautiful and sweet! Our wait staff were hilarious and so knowledgeable.
So it boils down to this, If you want a place where you are the star of the restaurant, where your feedback to each dish is sought after, and your taste buds will be in heaven...please give The French Room a try. It certainly does not disappoint. We absolutely loved it.
Best afternoons tea in Dallas
We had the chef's recommendation dinner with wine pairing. !
The Staff was delightful! We enjoyed learning about what we were about to taste, and the beautiful plating.
Love this place!
Bring back the dessert cart And better breed selection
It was good but the ambiance was not what I thought it would be and the menu was difficult to read.
We went to their midday High Tea service to celebrate my Mother's 75th Birthday and it was a lovely experience. I highly recommend this service for the creative food offerings, polished yet friendly service, and overall ambiance in one of the finest dining rooms in Dallas.
Very very pleased. Food was excellent, wine list exceptional (Burgundy/Rhône heavy but why not!). Service as it should be. Love the restoration to its original decoration. Very nice night.
Food and service very poor. This used to be one of the best fine dining experiences in Dallas, but not any more
WIthout question the best dining experience at a restaurant we have ever had in Dallas! And that is in comparison to EVERY other top restaurant in Dallas.
We will return, SOON!
Awesome food superb service
The waitress could not describe the food and she has worked there 20 plus years
