A delicious and special meal - absolutely outstanding foie gras appetizer and tuna main course. Unobtrusive but excellent service.

My family from outside Dallas has stayed at the Adolphus since almost the year of the hotel's construction. I have the 1924 book "Norfleet", part of which takes place in the Adolphus. Personally I remember the Century Room with its floor show on ice back in the early 1950's. I identify with the Adolphus when the intersection of Commerce and Akard was the center of the world in Dallas for New Year's Eve and Texas/OU weekends. I returned to the French Room tonight. I wondered about the French Room since the hotel remodelinlg. It was a beautiful culinary experience. Each course was memorable and delicious. A 3 course or 5 course dinner was available. Portions were real creations and tasty and more than just tiny. My fish was outstanding. The service was pleasant and the waiter knew her menu well. The decor was regal without being stuffy or busy. Aside from the French Room, the bar was well appointed and welcoming, as was the remodeled hotel lobby. It's not just a remodeling. It's a recreation. Every thing was so fine without being overdone. I'll be back, not every night of course. It's a special place. But I'll be back at the next opportunity.

We have been coming to the Adolphus and the French room for 20+ years.

Well, since the recent remodel and Marriott taking over we think overall things have gone downhill somewhat.

The THREE COURSE PRIX FIXE menu had very limited choices. Too much of the French touch
for us. Seemed the menu was a little pretentious. And the 100 page wine book, wow.
Ninety percent of the wines we had never heard of and the prices were quite a bit higher
than before Marriott took over.

The food at The French Room was outstanding. As a long-time French Room diner, the atmosphere was not the same. However, the new décor is stunning, contemporary, and clean. The old world feeling and elegance is gone. While the website says coats for men are required, there we several in the restaurant in golf-style shirts. The hostess had to ask our names twice, which was never the case in previous years. The service was "spotty" at best. While the waiters were wonderfully attentive and knowledgeable, it was one hour after we were seated before the first food (other than two "stuffed button tomatoes) were delivered. Once the meal was brought, the presentation was outstanding and the food was more than outstanding.
Overall we enjoyed the evening, but The French Room has become another hotel dinning room, although a very good one.

The best meal and service I’ve had in Dallas in years. Made me think back to the first years of the Dean Fearing Mansion. Not a single detail was overlooked, including my name at the top of our table menus as it was my birthday. My husband had sticker shock, but I feel it was worth every penny.

This was my wife's and I's first visit to The French Room. We were both amazed by the atmosphere, the food, and the service. Every one of our needs was fulfilled. We will definitely go back.

Great food, Great ambience. We did the 7 course meal with the wine pairing. The food, the wine and the service was perfect. Always remember, this place will set you back a little money.

Been brought up in Paris-France I can truly tell you that you definitely have to check out this restaurant. From the time we were greeted by the hostess to they time we left, we had an extraordinary night.
It was splendid to see the front of the house in action, we experienced an organized symphony in action.
The chef has impeccable French skills that show on the menu and on the food itself! The food represents La France of today. The evolution of French cuisine has been brought to Dallas and I am very proud to say so!
To everyone that had a saying on the renovation of the French Room and to all of you who work there, I have one word for you, BRAVO!!!
