For the price the service was lacking. Ordered wine and asked to have it there for main course. Did not come and when prompted revealed the bottle was not available. Ordered alternative white and it came to table warm not chilled. Server was generally inattentive and twice needed to be prompted to bring milk not cream for coffee. If they are selling the complete experience we did not have it. Food fine. Cannot understand how it got four diamonds given the service.

The French Manor is a lovely getaway tucked away in the Poconos. The dining is outstanding and the service by the innkeepers and servers is friendly and hospitable. The dining room atmosphere is especially charming with country French décor and a lofty fireplace you will not forget. We did not indulge in the spa services this visit but plan to do so next time around. An absolutely delightful getaway.

The French Manor was grand and cozy. Our romantic dinner was amazing! The hostess was excellent, the scallops and duck dishes were heavenly, with the flavors in both dishes meshing quite nicely. This was honestly the most delicious dinner I've ever had. We especially loved the amuse bouche and the champagne sorbet to cleanse our pallettes, which were both free of charge. We also enjoyed the snail appetizer. The only reason I gave four stars is because of our server. While very nice and well-meaning, it seemed he was not as knowledgeable about the specials. He did, however, double check with us about our allergies and was very prompt in his responses after talking with the chef about how to modify a couple of the dishes for our milk allergy.

Food was delicious from appetizers to dessert. Service was very good but my birthday was not acknowledged even though it was advised with our reservation, thus the less-than-perfect rating.

My husband and I recently moved to nep. We were really excited about celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary with an indulgent dinner at the very beautiful French manor. The restaurant was aware that it was our anniversary. We arrived about 30 minutes prior to our reservation to have drinks on the gorgeous stone veranda. We had to wait 20 minutes to order our drinks, and I had to go inside to ask. The bar tender was needed to tend to the 4 seated tables prior to us. Ok. Finally got the drinks and they were good. We were seated inside in the lovely room with two fireplaces. No bread for 20minutes and again, had to ask several times. Seems as tho they were still baking it, as said by the waiter. Not kidding!!The onion soup had a dark, heavy broth and, for $14, was more of a cup size than a bowl size. My husband had the duck and I had the scallops. Delicious. Dessert was a frozen and unimpressive baked Alaska. No candle or anniversary recognition. The physical place is stunning. The food is mediocre, except for the entree. Drinks only from now on.

We stayed two nights at The French Manor. While this review is in regard to our reserved dinner experience (which has VERY MIXED reviews), I must tell anyone who chooses to stay there that the Breakfasts are gourmet and WONDERFUL. However, our experience at dinner was so very disappointing. I order the Wagyu steak. I was told that it is highly marbled and my meal would be $157.00. I said go for it....however, when the steak arrived, it was not highly marbled; it was 90% or more fat, to the point that I could not find a piece of actual beef to eat.... I told our server and when the bill came, my meal was $70.00. Unfortunately, my husband's garlic crusted salmon was not to his liking, but he did not mention it to the server and ate his meal. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. So disappointed.

We have been frequentIng The French Manor for years and the fact that we keep coming back says it all. On this occasion I tried pheasant for the very first time, after my inquiry resulted in a very informed review of the dish by Suzanne ( who was also very knowledgeable about the wine list). Needless to say, I devoured the dish. It was beyond my expectations. My compliments to the chef and to The French Manor!

We went for our anniversary. The outside patio is very nice and they pipe in the piano music played inside. It was a beautiful evening in August and although the inside dining room is beautiful we did not want to waste the chNce to sit outdoors. Although I gave it 5 stars, I still have some complaints that did not ruin or change our experience. I would have liked to sit at a bar before or after dinner to enjoy the piano player. This was asked by many patrons. There is no bar. But they were not busy inside and they let us enjoy our coffee at an inside table to hear the piano music. And we had some difficulty with wine service at the beginning of the night. An uninformed person called their sommelier (far from it). Took forever to get our wine. Wasn't chilled. And never poured it for us the rest of the night. Otherwise very perfect evening.

Had a reservation but was sat outside to be eaten alive by mosquitoes (even though indoor tables appeared to be available). Service was oddly rude and very slow on a seemly slow night. Food was ok but there are much better options in the area.

The restaurant was amazing. The weather was really nice so we ate outside for all meals. Great view of the valley. The music also provided for great ambience. My wife is already talking about going back. This place is a great getaway.
Also, what was really nice, was the staff did not expect to be tipped for everything. I was able to walk around and not have to carry cash.

We enjoyed the food at French Manor. We dined there for three consecutive nights and breakfasts and the food was delicious every time. The restaurant atmosphere was less formal than suggested. While the wait staff was eager and friendly it was not professionally well trained for finer dining. So much about the place is wonderful , but could be so much better if details to good wait service was implemented. While the place suggests a romantic atmosphere, there was too much background noise from the staff to create this. Also, the same music was played every meal. If a variety of romantic music played for different meals it would enhance the dining experience.

What a pleasant surprise to find we were dining on a beautiful patio with an amazing view of the mountains. Servers were very attentive. We had the filet mignon dinner. Came with sweet potatoes and purple cabbage. The vegetables were a good texture but flavorless as if they were boiled and drained. The meat was good quality but without basic seasoning. I would recommend for ambiance but food was mediocre for food for price. As far as the prices in general they were on par for the suggested gourmet quality food on the menu itself. I don't object to price except for the bland flavors. Very nice place for atmosphere otherwise.

We were referred by friends to visit the French Manor Inn. So my wife and I went there for some rest and relaxation. The staff in the spa were very professional and very friendly. Dinner was amazing and the service excellent. It was formal dining but the staff is easy going and personable. Our suite was beautiful and just what we needed for a break from everyday life. I rated the value a 3 because, while the whole experience was outstanding, it came at a high cost. I don't regret one minute of our visit there and will certainly come back.

First of all, I really like the French Manor. It is a beautiful building with great rooms and suites and a wonderful dining room. The staff is very friendly and efficient. We have stayed here twice now and it is one of our favorite get-aways. However, the dinner we had this past Sunday was most disappointing, only because the food was not nearly good enough to warrant the very high prices. We started with beet bisque, which I must say was very good. I had Bronzino Étouffé, which was pretty tasteless, and it came with a potato pie sort of thing which was nothing special. There was a brownish walnut side that also had very little taste. My wife had a squab special that was very tough, and it came with 2 limp pieces of asparagus and something that looked and tasted like a large flat tater tot. I do not believe the chef was in the kitchen. These dishes appeared and tasted like they had been reheated and placed on a plate. I hate to give a bad review to an otherwise fantastic place, but when we pay $45-$50 per entree we expect something really special, and this just wasn't.

My husband and I stayed at the French Manor Inn for the weekend. Unfortunately our dinner was the only thing we weren't 100% satisfied with. The food was ok but nothing to rave over. We have had much better meals at The Grille 3501 in Allentown. We are also not sure why they "recommend" that men wear jackets for dinner. They aren't that fancy. We found this totally unnecessary.

My partner and I stayed two nights at The French Manor as part of a weeknight special, but we'd made only one reservation in the inn for dinner intending to explore the area the second night. If we had made two reservations we would've cancelled the second based on the first night's experience. The whole experience was not what I'd expected based on the image presented on the website, and while it wasn't a bad experience it didn't meet our expectations, or the experiences we've had at other bed and breakfasts at a similar price point.

Overall the food was good, but overpriced for the quality, and the plating was underwhelming. Our appetizer, a rabbit terrine, was excellent, as was the coconut sorbet palate cleanser. I had the venison medallion and lobster with a potato croquette for an entree that I enjoyed very much. My partner's filet was fine, but the roasted sweet potatoes that accompanied it were undercooked (in both of our opinions, as I sampled them as well). Dessert, a small Baked Alaska with a French sponge cage and dulce de leche ice cream, was very generously portioned (maybe a little too much on the meringue, I ended up scooping the excellent ice cream and cake out and leaving quite a bit of meringue behind).

Our server was attentive and eager, if less formal than I'd expected--reaching across us to refill glasses, etc. The woman who introduced herself as our host and cocktail service was a very sour note: she asked me to find the bottle of wine I'd ordered by name in the menu so she could identify the bin number listed (their bartender doesn't know their--not terribly extensive--wine list better?), then brought the wrong bottle, which she then blamed on "new hires this week who must have stocked the bins wrong" which I found very unprofessional--and they must have prevented her from verifying the label before she brought it to the table as well.

We went for Valentine's Day and the atmosphere was very nice. Our waiter seemed less than thrilled to be there and not very attentive. The menu that night was prix fixe so we were nervous but my husband stated that it was by far the best prix fixe entrée he ever ate and worth every penny. I'd go back again just for the atmosphere. It's a beautiful setting for a special occasion.

Delightful restaurant. Been there before, and they did not dissappoint this time either. Attentive wait staff, although I found the Sommelier rather under-dressed for a restaurant of this caliber. Slacks and a sweater really doesn't add dignity or do their wine list justice. The Sommelier also didn't seem as knowledgable as I would have expected. My companion was clearly not impressed, and made the wine selection herself.

The food was outstanding. I don't think I've ever had duck prepared more delicously, and there was no problem substituting risotto for sweet pototo hash. One strange thing: what this restaurant called a Napolean for dessert was not what I expected, although it was delicious anyway.

Overall, an excellent experience. Will come here again!

I stayed at the French Manor Inn so the restaurant was the only choice for food. While I found the service and ambience outstanding, the food was good but not great, and I thought everything was way over priced. I realize it's formal dining, but five scallops does not constituent a decent meal to me and at over $40, it was a tad ridiculous. If you are not a fan of seafood, you will have limited options. I thought the braised short rib was delicious, but was not impressed by the grilled swordfish. Salad was okay but the dressing needed more flavor.

Overall I was not impressed and if I had another option for food I would not have eaten at the restaurant twice.

While our server, Thomas, was perfect, the bar-server left quite a lot to be desired. We wanted to order cocktails while we perused the menu, but she never came to our table for our order and, when Thomas came for our order, we told him we'd like to order a cocktail first but no one had come for our drink order. He sent the host, Phil, over to us and he apologized profusely. He took our order but the woman who delivered our drinks (I believe she was the bartender) placed them on the table and never even looked at us as she mumbled something along the lines of, "Here you go." When our drinks were done, we wanted to order another round but, again, she stayed at the other end of the restaurant and never came to us even though I saw her go to most every other table to check on them and pour additional wine for them. I had to ask Phil again for another round which then took nearly twenty minutes for her to bring over (and only after I had made eye contact with the host again who immediately knew what the problem was). After that, we ordered two glasses of wine, directly from Phil who brought them over immediately. The ambiance, server, busser, host, and food were spectacular, but the bar server needs some serious training on how to attend to her customers. In a place where you're paying top dollar for everything, the service should be on point all around.

Was looking for a new restaurant to celebrate my daughters birthday. Very disappointed. Will not return. Dress code ridiculous for an out of way small dining area. Had no collared shirt or jacket was finally lent a jacket to wear, for whatever reason I do not know. Get with the times and people wear nice jeans everywhere. Been at the best NYC 5 star restaurants and the French Manor is trying to be one but not even close. Salmon special not edible, over cooked. Scallops bland. Not a good experience , will stick to our local favorite eatery in the future.

Overall the place was very nice and the food and service were great. The only problem we had was the amount of the dinner certificate. We stayed under the enchanted evening package which cost roughly $475. Included in that is a dinner voucher worth $120. based on the menu pricing, dinner for 2 would be minimum of $200-$225. they should correct this.
