We visit the French Manor every year at this time. We have never been disappointed and just love it there!
I don’t know where the bad reviews come from. This place was incredible, professional, and very service orientated. Some of these reviews complain of things that are so petty. I didn’t experience anything but great food and service. Had the mussels and my wife had scallops. Both great. if you think it was expensive, you don’t appreciate fine service. This isn’t a doggie bag place. The food is proportional to an average meal and I’ll trade quality for quantity any day. Even enjoyed desert which I never do. High recommendation.

We had a reservation to stay overnight at the French Manor and decided to enjoy dinner at the restaurant. It met and surpassed every expectation. The service was impeccable, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was exactly what you would want for a romantic night out. We would definitely return.
We had been to the French Manor twice last winter, first time it was very good, second time not so much. We decided to give it another try this winter but again we were very disappointed. I had to order three different bottles of wine, because they were sold out on each one I ordered. In the end we asked our waiter to just tell us what she did have in stock as it seemed nothing on the wine list was indeed available. By the time we got through finding a wine our first course had already arrived, thus we had to start eating while she went and got the wine. Then we had to ask for proper red wine glasses as the ones they had on the tables were too small to really enjoy a wine. The food also was not what we expected. Our main courses were not up to what we expected. My wife ordered a lobster thermidor and what came out was a tiny overcooked lobster tail with no semblance at all to the way a lobster thermidor is usually prepared. I ordered the special (duck confit) and it was dry and over cooked.
In my opinion, the service was lacking, the wine list was not up to date and the food did not impress.
We gave it its last chance, will not be back.
One of our favorite places for a special occasion: wife’s birthday. Our waitress, Shannon, was very personable and attentive. With the snowstorm outside, our table by the fireplace was perfect. Excellent food, ambiance and service.
This is one of the worst dinners I've ever had. Entrees are 50$ per plate. The sauce for duck l'orange tastes like they opened a bottle of A1 steak sauce. Halibut must have been caught a week ago because I could smell the fishiness from across the table. I ended up having French onion soup as a main as I was frightened by the prices- and it was also a mistake. The soup looked and tasted like beef gravy.
This food quality is poor and overpriced. Did I mention the first four bottles of wine we ordered were not available.
I don't know what else to say, and why anyone would come back.
The food was simply delicious, gorgeous building and atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly staff. We will definitely be coming back again!!
For the price the service was lacking. Ordered wine and asked to have it there for main course. Did not come and when prompted revealed the bottle was not available. Ordered alternative white and it came to table warm not chilled. Server was generally inattentive and twice needed to be prompted to bring milk not cream for coffee. If they are selling the complete experience we did not have it. Food fine. Cannot understand how it got four diamonds given the service.
