The food was fantastic
Rather expensive for the location and menu selections. Staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. Did not have specific specialty cocktails (they have a list of specialty cocktails they can make, French 75 was not one of them).
It was very expensive. The food was good, although the lobster tail was dry. We appreciated the ambiance and the service but our meal was $182 plus tip for dinner for two. That included just one glass of wine. We would go elsewhere.
Spent a couple of days with my wife on a post-christmas vacation at the French Manor. Had dinner there the first night. We both had the Surf & Turf and it was fantastic.
Devin was a great server and the drink specialist was great
Service was attentive. Food was very fresh. Loved the scallops and red snapper special.
Wonderful dinner. Our server, Spencer, was attentive and polite as was the bartender and Maitre D. Superb food, elegantly presented in a fabulous atmosphere. We had quail, chicken leg and filet and lobster. Each delicious. Kudos to the Chef.
Always a pleasure. Great place to try new things because you can count on receiving your meal well-prepared. Additionally you will find excellent service and attention to detail.
Service and food were great. We celebrated our 15 year anniversary and it was a special place to dine and stay.
French restaurant that is part of the French Manor Inn. Reservations required, jacket for gentlemen requested. Not sure if the restaurant can accommodate guests who are not staying at the hotel. Need to call for reservations & availability.
Excellent food exquisitely prepared.
Home made breads, butter and desserts. Decent selection on the wine list. Dinner menu offers a small but varied selction of beef, lamb, chicken, fish, seafood and (I think) vegetarian. Dinner is EXPENSIVE, but worthwhile for a special occasion, especially a weekend getaway at the hotel.
If staying at the hotel, a wonderful, French-style breakfast is included in the room rate. Those dishes are also excellent.
The service was fabulous. I had the duck leg napolean which was creatively presented and absolutely fabulous. I never saw something like this previously. My wife had the halibut which was beautifully prepared with a nice crispy skin. Also had a nice Chardonnay. I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the room. Although it was crowded, the noise level is not a problem at all
Food was fantastic!
Must go to whenever you are in the area
Great ambience and service! Food was exceptional as well but expensive. I’ve had better meals for less money but that’s about the only ciriticsm I have.
Great experience all around! Nice atmosphere, quick and attentive service, unique and excellently prepared food.
Very remote location. Roads under heavy repair. Manager mislead us on the situation. Very disingenuous.
Food was more American cuisine than French. No true French dishes. Very overpriced.
Staff a bit condescending.
We have been patrons of the inn for many years and the food has always been one of the highlights. Our recent visit did not disappoint.
We had a delicious meal here, in a wonderful atmosphere - just happened to be in the area and were looking for a nicer place for dinner. This must be the nicest and most gourmet place in the area! The setting is magnificent, just so beautiful. The dining rooms are beautifully appointed, and they clearly have met their goal of creating an upscale, elegant dining experience. (We eat out a lot so I can compare to many excellent restaurants in Philadelphia.)
The food is delicious, interesting menu options and creatively prepared and presented. The staff was attentive and professional. The only area where I take a little issue is that it is a little pricey, even compared to similar restaurants in Phila - it is in the high end of those (like Del Frisco's). A little less expensive, given the area, would maybe draw more people. I'd go back for a special occasion, but for me to be more or a regular I'd love it to be just a little less.
We enjoyed the food emensouly and the option for outdoor dining was a huge plus. The staff was amazing and made us feel "at home".
The place was nice and quiet but the service was very long (30 min to get the appetizers). A little bit expensive regarding the quality of food (an entrée was supposed to be with morels but they change it to regular mushrooms with the same price).
Excellent food & service. Who knew that a hidden gem like this existed in the Northern Pocono Mountains. Thank you Suzanne and Isaac for a wonderful experience! We will be back again.
This is our go to anniversary place. The food is always good and the place is just beautiful. They offer terrace dining which is always nice in the summer.
A bit pricey but an absolute lovely place. Beautiful location, charming old structure, great service and exquisite food.
This is a lovely, out of the way spot in the Poconos. Their patio makes a nice place to enjoy dinner and breakfast. The food is good but not outstanding.
Outstanding food and services. Very delicious and cooked with love food. White table cloth on the tables. Love it!
Beautiful setting and very clean. Delicious food.
The ambiance at the French Manor was nice, staff was very friendly and it had a more upscale feel to it. Getting wine was a bit of a problem, since the bottle we ordered was first not chilled then speed chilled and wound up being the wrong bottle. Then the next bottle which was something different (procecco) was said to be ready to go, but wasn't chilled either and we had to wait for that. The restaurant however did comp us 2 drinks while we waited. My partner had the Elk and loved it, and I had the fish special which was good but could have been better. The fish which was a white Kampachi fish was nice, but oddly paired with a mango puree which alone was tasty, but didn't pair well with the side dishes of the garlic risotto and black trumpet mushrooms. All in all though very nice.
Very nice experience overall. Beautiful place and surroundings. Delicious food, very good service. All considered though, prices are way too high.
My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner at the French Manor. The dining room is breathtaking and a lovely setting for a special occasion. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. The duck breast was divine. Service was leisurely but friendly and competent. However, the staff had problems keeping up with the needs of a full dining room with lapses in taking orders and bringing the bill. Overall, a lovely, memorable meal although very pricey. The sporadically non-enforced rule requiring gentlemen to wear jackets is misguided and archaic and should either be enforced or dropped entirely.
We ate on the patio and it was lovely. I had the Chilean sea bass ...it literally melted in your mouth. The bamboo risotto was creamy and delicious. My husband had the duck...scrumptious. For appetizers, I had the crab crepe and my husband had the carpacio... fabulous.the wait staff was attentive but not intrusive.
Truly a wonderful dining experience.
My wife and I have been coming here for a number of years and the French Manor never disappoints. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere is second to none. Ken our waiter provided excellent service without being overbearing. Great wine list to go along with the excellent food.
French Manor restaurant was very good. Food was fantastic! For the price the only reccomendation would be portions as we received a small portion of food.
French Manor is a great experience. They have fantastic food, including steak that melts in your mouth. The service is friendly and comprehensive. They provide an amuse-bouche and palate cleansing sorbet in addition to the meal you order. The food is always very good--we ate here the night before our wedding and again on our anniversary and loved it both times. They have a good selection of wines, including Honig's Cabernet Sauvignon, which was a fun surprise! Zero complaints for me. It seems they are sometimes buys and sometimes not. We first went on a Friday and were one of two couples in the restaurant, but on Saturday, it was packed! It still did not get too loud. I someday hope to stay in the accommodation that has a staircase to the reserved table in the restaurant. Beautiful landscapes outside, as well!
Small portions and steep prices, but delicious preparations and nice selection. Atmosphere is great. Worth the splurge on a special occasion.
My wife and I were married at The French Manor, June 2016, so it hold a very special place in our hearts. We finally returned for our second anniversary for dinner and stayed the night. Dinner was outstanding and our compliments to the chef. To all the staff, thank you for making our time there memorable and we plan to return each year to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy this very special place.
The Inn and the ambiance is great, but the food and service leaves a lot to he desired.
Wonderful romantic dining — indoor or out. Exquisite food, warm and welcoming staff. Very special.
Amazing service and staff, very attentive and great pacing of food from one course to another
I don't know what the bad reviews were about. The first wine we selected was available, the service was impeccable, the staff friendly and courteous, and the food delicious and perfectly portioned. The scallops could have been fresher but being we were in the mountains in the middle of nowhere that is understandable.
Food was great, my complements to the chef and all staff
Service was superb.
Stayed overnight and enjoyed spa treatments with my sister Dover decided to try the dining room for dinner and so glad we did! Excellent service food and ambiance get your reservation early they book up quickly. Highly recommend this for fine dining! Enjoy
