Fox & Grapes is a great little gastro pub, food was top notch and the best roast around! Much more food-y than the other pubs and a great ambience to boot.
Superb food with excellent service. Belly pork was mouth wateringly good.
Fabulous pub for family meals - good food and particularly great staff, making you feel welcome and taken care off
We had a lovely table in the corner of this gorgeous pub. Despite it being a busy Sunday, service was great and the food was unbelievable! One of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time!!
We’ve had 3 ‘big’ celebrations here over the last 5 years and many more casual visits.
We’ve always enjoyed the fab food, the attentive, engaging but not intrusive staff, and the atmosphere which is warm and friendly.
Thank you all!
Great food and lovely staff. Very dog friendly. Would definitely come back.
We held a birthday party lunch event, the venue was perfect and the staff very helpful and accommodating. The food was excellent and the space ideal. Very good establishment.
This is the third time we've dined at The Fox and Grapes, the Sunday roast (lamb) was delicious, as it has been each time we've been. The service staff were cheerful and attentive which meant we were in, fed, and on our way home in 45 minutes. The table was booked out for 2 hours I believe but, on this occasion, we were keener to be home, so the speed of service was a real plus.
Great, loved it! Amazing, high quality traditional food!
High quality food and friendly service from all. Low ceiling amplified the noise levels, however the multigenerational groups and variety of dogs gave it a family festive atmosphere.
Lovely spacious pub with good food and wonderful attentive friendly service.
Soup too thick and not hot. Main course, in my opinion, was the size of a starter and the scallops were over cooked and too salty.
Was offered to return and get a 20% discount . Will not be using this offer .
Good food menu, however service was not up to speed in knowledge of menu or drinks. Wish there had been more options on shared appetizers.
Great Food. Excellent service. Looking forward to going back
Perfect for a quiet mid-week lunch. Sea bass and skate wing were both beautifully cooked and Bloody Mary was spot on! Will be back to this fab little local place.
Really nice, dog friendly which is lovely, nice food and wine choice.
Been coming for many years but the prices have gone up so much may have to scale back visits. Pub lunch for 2 is now at least £100.
Lovely Sunday lunch, great spot to bring friends from abroad.
Second time for Sunday dinner, this time with a group of five. Excellent food, great service and a nice laid back atmosphere too.
Great family evening. Food well prepared, in particular the Moules Marinières were excellent.
Tasty food in a lovely pub
Very friendly service , lovely food very nice pint of Freedom Lager
Super food, great atmosphere, very dog friendly after your walk on the Common!!
I love this place. Great staff and great food. What’s not to like?
I found the lamb kofta too dry and bland. The aubergine dish was missing the broccoli. Service and location fine
Enjoyed a lovely lunch with two of my nieces and the pooch. The girls devoured their burgers and I enjoyed a kid’s size fish & chips (which I still didn’t finish!)
Great food, lovely service and very welcoming to both dogs and humans!
Always great service in the f&g
Food is always superb and the vibe is really chilled, you don’t feel rushed at all.
Friendly and attentive staff. Had an enjoyable time with family. Very dog friendly too
Underwhelming menu - hadn’t changed from 2 months ago when I was disappointed with the choice then but thought I’d try one more time based on previous visits admittedly some years ago. My son had the steak and asked for it to be cooked rare but it was definitely medium very uninspiring just a steak on the plate without any green garnish. I had the sea bass which was dry but the vegetables it came with were nice. We won’t be going back.
Food was middle of the road, it used to be better. The place was full of dogs which kept on barking - spoiling the atmosphere by the noise.
Lovely meal with family. Very quiet on a Sunday evening
A wonderful evening. Wonderful ambience, great food, fantastic service - not rushed at all!
Will be going back.
We had a great evening at the Fox and Grapes. There’s always a lovely atmosphere and the food and service were spot on.
This is now a well-managed pub with good food and excellent service.
Great atmosphere, lovely corner table, good food and friendly service. Would return.
great food, great service, would 100% go again! Well cooked steak particularly and homemade bearnaise!
We have been going to the Fox and Grapes for many years and it has never disappointed. Good food, good service and lovely atmosphere. We will definitely return!
