Loved the Fountain Lounge. The service was spot on. Sunday brunch was exceptional.
Originally we were placed right at the front near the band. It was far too loud for conversation and after much discussion we chose a table at the back. It was perfect! Our waiter was delightful, charming, polite and very professional. Food was great but grilled salad could have used a more flavorful dressing. Brussel sprouts were the best I have had...ever! I would definitely go back!
The wine is waaaay over priced. Way too expensive for the tiny pours.
he Fountain Lounge brings a touch of new-world sophistication, while offering subtle nods to the timeless elements of the hotel. The Sazerac Bar harks back to the days when legendary Louisiana Governor Huey P. Long called The Roosevelt home. Sip classic cocktails and dine on fine cuisine in these historic venues surrounded by original artworks. Pay a visit to Chef John Besh's award-winning Domenica restaurant where Italian fare is prepared with passion and served in an atmosphere that embraces a laid-back Mediterranean attitude to life.
Music was nice at a perfect sound level, waiter didn't come around much. I personally think the restaurant needs more food choices
While the dining area was relaxed and enjoyable, the service was uneven and awkward at times. There was a sizeable delay between appetizers and entrees . The crab and crawfish au gratin was a delicious and the highlight of an otherwise average meal.
Good service. Good ok but not memorable. Good location for concerts at Saenger
Reviews we read were consistent w our experience. Food is good. Bar is good. Live music was good. Service - NOT good. Gentleman at table next to us went 30 mins before his server came back to his table. People on other side of us had to go to bar to pay check Bc waitress disappeared. Doubtful would ever go here again. Shame Bc great location and historic hotel
What a Christmas Disappointment! Sure you can't beat the Roosevelt lobby for a festive Christmas meal, but stay away from the Fountain Lounge. We made our reservations for Christmas night early in the season and were never made aware there would be a prix fix menu for a whopping $80 per person. Probably could have lived with that except that the food was just plain mediocre, and the main course was just plain bad. We have dined here before with great trio playing and delicious food reasonably priced. Too bad the management fell down on the job for such a special night for us. So sorry Christmas 2016 put a bad taste in our mouths for what was once a terrific little gem.
Christmas dinner menu choices were excellent butternut squash was excellent but a little salty the grouper and risotto was excellent
