My sister-in-law and I have an annual tradition, Christmas Season Brunch at The Fountain Lounge. We love it so much and look forward to it all year, and it never disappoints!
Christmas lighting event at the Roosevelt
We went for Carl's Monday fried chicken after eating fried chicken for breakfast and lunch as well. It was absolutely delicious, and I think everyone's favorite! Chef Carl came to the table and chatted with us for a bit which was so nice! It was great talking to him. Our server was great too. The ambiance was perfect. Great, great dinner. Will definitely have to do it again!
The was hoping and the food was delicious!!
My friend and I took our 7 year old daughters to The Fountain prior to a show at the Saengar. This has become my custom before any show at that theatre. The food and beverages are always fantastic and food comes out in a timely manner.
My friend’s daughter has a gluten allergy, and The Fountain had a great selection of meals they could prepare; even offering to make changes to some of the kids menu selections.
Though our latest experience was on a Saturday night, my favorite night to dine at The Fountain is on Tuesdays for Burgers and Bubbles. The burgers are ridiculously good!
This is definitely a little hidden gem in a city known for its food!
We dined here our last evening in New Orleans because we were staying in the hotel and my husband did not feel well enough to venture to the Quarter. The food was on par with the best of the old school Quarter restaurants (e.g. Antoine's, Arnauds, Gallitores, etc.). The Bread Pudding Tots were the perfect ending to the meal. The only reason to take away stars on ambiance was the acoustics in the room do now allow the pianist/lounge singer to be heard clearly.
I allow myself fried chicken once a year so it has to really be good. The dinner at the Fountain Lounge was excellent. The chicken was one of if not the best I ever have had, and the side dishes were also very good. If you are going to splurge on a guilty treat I highly recommend Monday Night Fried Chicken at the Fountain Lounge
Aside from the extended wait, everything was amazing!
It was severely understaffed for a Friday that was celebrating the 50th anniversary of the storming of the sazerac. We made reservations for 1pm and didn’t get food until 2pm. Drinks were also slow. Sazeracs were supposed to be 1/2, and when we ordered a 2nd round we were told they were no longer going to be 1/2?? It was ridiculous. The food was good when we got it but we had 2 orders of mushroom toast and then only one came out and we just had to keep asking for everything.
There’s plenty of other amazing restaurants with great food and ambiance in NOLA, so I will not be returning.
Not the experience I hoped for! Upon arrival waited for a few minutes to be seated. Once seated was seated next to a loud group with a big dog sitting at the table. ( not everyone wants to eat with your animal unless its a service animal). The atmosphere was very LOUD!From the dancing singing waiter to the cackling at the bar and not to mention very awful salty food! I also told my waiter ablot my food and she tried to justify by saying we season food very heavy in New Orleans. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
The wait staff was fabulous. Very friendly, very attentive. In fact, my wife and I feel like we have new friends. The food was extraordinary. It was perfectly prepared and seasoned. Excellent!! The restaurant had some professional singers/piano players performing during the night. All of them were very talented. We were celebrating our anniversary and everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this establishment.
AWSOME AND THEY HAVE THE BEST WAITRESS AND WAITER THEY TREATED US LIKE ROYALILITY
Just a great place to have a good time with family and friends. We visited with our nieces from Atlanta and they really had a good time. The food was excellent!! OMG that chicken and biscuit!! Chef Carl and the wait staff were on point. It's a way to invest in our community, have good food, and fun. We came when there was the rain storm in New Orleans. It was a hassle moving around that day, but were so glad we came
Chef Carl’s chicken is amazing! The staff is super friendly and accommodating and Sam is a superb pianist and vocalist. Monday night at the Fountain Lounge is a must!
Chef Carl's fried chicken pop-up at the Fountain Lounge is incredible.
Any Monday night I am in New Orleans I will definitely go back.
We loved Chef Carl’s fried chicken and can’t wait to go back! His red beans and rice, slaw, and biscuits are also delicious, and a HUGE bonus was his willingness to make naked fried chicken for the gluten free member of our party. Our server was very nice but very slow, but overall it was a great experience.
It was half price wines Wednesday and we had a wonderful bottle of Dom perignon. Great everything. Thanks Fountain .
We were celebrating our 20th anniversary at the Roosevelt. All was well worth our selection. We decided while there, we would not wait for another 20 years to repeat the experience. the food and the ambiance was ellegant.
Fried chicken!!! We chose to dine at the Fountain Lounge in the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel for their Monday night fried chicken special. Chef Carl showcases his decades old recipe for juicy, slightly spicy, classic fried chicken. The meal is served family style, accompanied by two sides, which on that evening were red beans and rice as well as cole slaw. There was an added bonus of a music--piano and vocals that served as a lovely background. Chef Carl made the rounds from table to table to say hello, and it was an altogether delightful evening.
Excellent again! The Fountain Lounge never disappoints.
Pre theater dinner. Prompt service, beautiful setting, good food.
We are locals and were curious about Chef Carl’s fried chicken special. It was really enjoyable and the service was excellent, plus the ambiance was great.
Fried chicken on Mondays is soooo good.
Great fried chicken by Carl on Monday nights!
We ate here after the symphony on Saturday night. While the atmosphere was nice the food was't too good and the service was worse. The staff was slow and confused. They brought out 4 bowls of soup at three different intervals. They served one bowl and then 5 minutes later a waiter brought another bowl and then 10 minutes later a waiter brought out 2 more bowls. It was crazy. Maybe they were just having a bad night.
Great food and service. Brussel sprouts were amazing. Will Def go back.
Carl’s chicken was amazing! If I lived here, I would return!
The chef came out to say hello and made it so fun!
What a fabulous way to celebrate any occasion with chef Carl’s outstanding fried chicken, biscuits, Cole slaw, red beans and rice, served family style in the ambiance of the fountain lounge in the fashionable and elegant Roosevelt hotel. Great service!
Service was good food was room temperature condiments were served like room service appetizer was served with entree
AMAZING food and great piano singers. Highly recommend even if you're not staying at the Roosevelt. The scallops & shrimp are top notch 👌
Chicken, biscuits, cole slaw, and red beans were perfect.
We came there to see Richard scott
We had heard about the wonderful fried chicken that was served on Mondays. It did live up to the hype. The ambiance was great with the soft sounds of the piano and vocalist in the background.
Loved getting to meet Carl and finally getting to partake in the fried chicken dinner. The meal was delightful and very tasty. The biscuits melted in your mouth while the chicken was fried to perfection. Looking forward to the next time we will be in town on a Monday to enjoy this special treat again. The live music was also outstanding!
Everything about it was great also enjoyed live piano entertainment
Service was good but drinks and food came out very slowly. Red velvet dessert very small rip off. But it is New Orleans. Good was good.
The food, first of all, was delicious (except the desserts seemed lackluster in comparison)! Cocktails, equally well-mixed. However, service was extremely slow and this was before the restaurant was even half full.
I’d read other reviews having the same complaints. It must be in the kitchen, where it’s apparently understaffed. There is no reason that on a Wednesday night it should be this bad.
The pianist was very good, but we still had to talk loud to be heard over the speakers, and we were sitting furthest away from the piano.
Delicious food and quick service for the pre-theatre menu made for a great combination!! We’ll definitely be back.
Absolutely the best beignets in New Orleans!!!
