Lunch: Monday - Sunday: 11:00am-2:00pm
Brunch: Saturday - Sunday: 7:00am-11:00am
Food was mediocre and place was a bit noisy even though it wasn't super busy. Not terrible, just not great.
Service was extremely slow.
Wonderful brunch. I would have liked more offers to fill drinks; water, juice, coffee creamer. Otherwise good service overall.
The Sunday brunch was pretty good overall. The dessert and hot food was not as good as on some previous visits. Especially the desserts seemed to be significantly reduced from before. The fresh seafood and sushi/rolls was very good and fresh.
The Fountain worked out great for our brunch with friends. The food was excellent as was the service. We felt very comfortable and relaxed and were pleased to be able to take our time visiting with friends.
Saturday Brunch - service was terrific, good variety of food at the buffet, dishes were delicious. The brunch and bottomless mimosa prices were high.
We originally picked the Fountain based on its Sunday Buffet. The buffet was looking "old" and half empty at 10 am. We opted for items off the menu, but the menu itself was relatively limited.
The waitress handed waters and juices across the table over people instead of walking to each seating. She broke a glass at a nearby table. The waiter himself was extremely impatient.
Overall horrible experience. I will never go back or recommend to a friend or family.
The place is very beautiful and service is amazing. The Sunday Brunch was great with lots of choices and value.
I had a chicken caesar salad that was one of the worst I have ever experienced. The lettuce was cut in wedges that were difficult to cut. There was almost no dressing on the lettuce and the worst feature was the chicken. The chicken included a drumstick attached (on a caesar salad?) and was so dry it was inedible. I took one bite and left the rest. A thoroughly disappointing lunch.
My family was sick on Mother's Day, so we came here for a belated Mother's Day Brunch on Memorial Day. I was happy to find somewhere that had a buffet 7 days a week! The buffet options were good and tasty (omelet station, waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, oatmeal, yogurt). Some extras they had were smoked salmon and cheeses. The price for food was okay, but a bottomless mimosa was $25! That is by far the most expensive I have ever seen a bottomless mimosa. My main issue is on ths day the fire alarm kept going off for about 1/3 of our meal. When I mentioned it to the manager, he apologized and blamed the kids there for a conference downtown. I was surprised they did not offer to comp something. It was really loud and we almost left because of it. Overall, a nice place if you want a buffet, but I would drink elsewhere!
We enjoyed an early Mother’s Day luncheon with family. Our waiter Sergio was very attentive to our group of 6. The eggs Benedict were excellent. The decaf coffee was fresh and our “ appetizer” waffle with fruit and maple syrup was delicious. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience.
We went for Saturday for brunch. There are two choices: buffer or menu. Because no many choice, so we ordered from breakfast menus. My husband ordered Omelet with top : avocado, bacon and mushroom. $17. Tast was good. I asked that was bakery basket and the waiter said he don’t know what have today. I ordered The bakery basket , which were croissant and muffin. $7. Coffee was $5 a cup, can refill.
We had brunch for my daughter’s 23rd Birthday and the food was very good, as well as the service. For $39 the buffet included fresh juice, latte, sushi, omelettes, pastries, and we were even able to get an order of French toast off the menu from the kitchen.
I took my daughter in law to celebrate an early
Mother’s Day. I had not been to the Fountain in a few years. They renovated it so it was very fresh and cheerful. Menu was small but they had some nice salads and paninis. The food took a little while to be served but it was fine. The Caesar salad was very nice and the turkey club panini was also good. And we split a chocolate mouse flourless cake. Yummy.
Did not like French toast. No waffles at buffet bur had them before and they wee great. Ran out of coffee. Server said he’d return with new carafe. Got bill but no coffee until grabbed other staff. Great shrimp!
The staff was very helpful and kind. Atmosphere was great. The food was so...so...wish they would of had more of a selection of food and desserts.
Food was fairly bland and not cooked properly. A coffee carafe that was put down after I asked for coffee was $10 because my wife had a cup. That’s crazy. When I let the manager know, he apologized but didn’t offer a refund...
Definitely not worth the money not much of a selection at all
Went their for breakfast while staying at the Fairmont, and their breakfast and brunch selection is extensive, and the food is prepared very well. I'm an oatmeal-for-breakfast fan, and their oatmeal plate is the best I've ever had. Steel-cut oatmeal, plus a bowl full of fresh berries, plus smaller containers of raisins, slivered almonds, and brown sugar. Plus it's right next door to the San Jose Museum of Art, which I went to after breakfast and saw some marvelous exhibits!
Went in for lunch while airing for my job to start. Had two small plates and an iced tea. $45 plus tip! Ouch! Both dishes were good and different from others I’ve had so that was great.
The food was mediocre and the menu prices outrageous for the quality, even for the Fairmont. Service was slow and very sporadic.
Menu prices on Open table aren’t correct- breakfast buffet is now $39, bottomless drinks $25 (I doubt you’d get your money’s worth on bottomless drinks- good luck flagging down a server).
It was super loud and difficult to carry on a conversation.
We won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.
We like the atmosphere at the Fountain, through its reincarnations over the years. The server has been on the staff a long time and while he's expert at handling large parties, I thought he was a bit abrupt and somewhat rushing us.
The food is excellent and made to order (crispy bacon requested and received, for example). But the bread basket was a disappointment. If you've ever been to Mimi's, their bread baskets are true to the impression one would have of "basket" with at least three varieties of pastries & breads. In ours, we had one croissant and one cheese danish, which in my mind we could have ordered separately. I recommend mini-pastries to fill out the basket, or don't call it a basket!
I prefer ordering off the regular menu, so this too was welcomed, in addition to offering the buffet brunch. The restaurant was decked out for New Year's Eve, so again, the ambiance was pleasing as were the classy touches: individual jars of jam and pretty teapots.
Good place for lunch meeting
We come here for brunch every year before the Nutcracker. There are always good choices for everyone, including the kids. highly recommend
We are staying at the Fairmont San Jose where The Fountain is located. Being that we had an early flight, The Fountain was a convenient choice. The food was good but the prices were incredibly high, even for a hotel restaurant.
Great lunch quizzically prepared and highlighted only by the excellent service all the staff were providing…
Used Opendoor to reserve here. It was Sunday so there's a mix of waiter service and brunch. I also believe they were shorthanded as the waiter took awhile to take our order. Our food was top notch. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Plate. it was delicious. worthy of coming again. THanks to Fountain and the Fairmont.
We enjoyed our twentieth anniversary breakfast and were meant to feel like we were at home. Delicious food and drinks! Gorgeous desserts.
We had an enjoyable and relaxed lunch! Our server was fabulous- they weren’t busy so we were a little disappointed that it took longer than expected to get our food - but once we did, it was well worth the wait! The presentation was beautiful and the the taste was amazing - delicious!! This place turned out to be a hidden gem!
The restaurant was very relaxing and the service and staff were great.
We were celebrating a special event and the Fountain helped us by giving us a quiet private seating area. The food is fresh and tasty. Service was great. Love the smoked salmon!
A good choice for breakfast, The food is wonderful. The device is very friendly. I have marked t down a few stars because the coffee is terrible - The have the cheek to charge €6 for a machine-made (not barista) single espresso of detestable quality.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Highly recommend.
I can't really assess anything because the restaurant spontaneously closed in the 5 minutes between the time I made the reservation after looking online for a place in the area and my walking to the restaurant. It looked OK from the entrance, but a bit annoying to waste the time to go there only to find that they decided to close the restaurant rather than honor the reservation they took just a few minutes earlier.
We opted to order off the menu instead of the buffet Sunday brunch. My husband had the croissant french toast and it was excellent. I ordered the scramble and I wished that I had ordered the french toast. Service was very good.
The hostess was wonderful. The meals and service were unremarkable.
It's been a while since I've been to The Fountain at the Fairmont, but as usual it was very nice. I don't think there are that many restaurants that offer Sunday "buffets" anymore. I guess that's an "old school" thing, but it was Father's Day and I wanted to take my husband out to a nice buffet. The service was excellent. The food was very good, the desserts could have been a little better. There were many families there and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
This is the best brunch buffet in the South Bay. Period. This has been one of my go-to's for many years, having celebrated almost everything here -- from a day-after-wedding brunch, to various get-togethers with friends, to mother's day and father's day, and on and on. The food is excellent --delicious and fresh, with a wide variety to satisfy all palettes. And the service is impeccable with attentive and friendly staff.
The décor was lovely - really kind of felt like you were sitting in a fountain. My three girlfriends and I were attending brunch at 11:00 on a Sunday and half the restaurant was empty - so not overly crowded; however they did try to smoosh us between a bunch of seated tables. Nonetheless, host was very accommodating to our request to sit in a less crowded area. We ordered from the menu in lieu of the brunch - is wasn't the best meal I've had. The eggs were slightly rubbery and bacon greasy. We had to ask for more cream for our coffee on several occasions and adjust the balance of our table ourselves with two napkins. Our server was very nice, just a little less than attentive.
