The food and service were great. The only complaint we had was with regard to the lack of comfort of the seating arrangements. They have very fancy classic decor and while the seats look very nice they are not very comfortable for enjoying a relaxing meal. Other than that we had no complaints. We had the filet mignon which was tender and seasoned well. We also had the broccolini. The truffle mac and cheese which was amazing! Would definitely try again if we're back in town.
Average food, slow service, nice atmosphere
We have been several times was very disappointed this time - brought someone who has never been - was not impressed. Probably will not be back.
Excelente sobre todo la calidad del menú y los vinos claro también puedo resaltar la amabilidad de su personal sin duda volveré.
Awesome food and wine, great service, incredible ambiance and history to this restaurant!
Service was very poor, drinks were not correct and took forever, I asked for pepper to be delivered, was never brought to the table, my wife asked for salad dressing, was never brought to the table. All 4 steaks were not prepared as asked, the sides were ice cold and the wait staff kept bringing French fries to the table and we kept telling them we didn't order fries. The maître D was very nice but the female manager couldn't be bothered and really didn't care how poorly the wait staff was or the poor presentation of the food. How sad this great establishment has gone so down hill. If you think you are going to the forge from the 1990's you are not. This is now an over rated, expensive, poorly run restaurant that I would avoid at all costs. If you go be prepared to be disapointed
The food and the service were excellent! It is clear to me why this restaurant has been around for such a long time.
The restaurant is awesome. The tour of the wine cellar was incredible. Had some issues with my ribeye. It had to be sent back twice. However the waitress was incredible and handled the situation well. The manager took the cost off our bill. The ribeye was not worth the wait unfortunately. The shrimp and scallop appetizers were awesome. I would give it another try when in town again.
Food was delicious. I had to wait an hour for my soufflé because they had to rebake it. Once I finally received my soufflé, it was a bit undercooked.
Best food, best service, best ambiance, consistently excellent.
Great experience our waitress was awesome we enjoyed the visit
Their Veuve Friday night is the way to go! Lively fun atmosphere with great people watching! Food was fantastic and the soufflé is a perfect way to end the night;
We enjoyed the forge on previous vacations to Miami however the overall quality has slipped down quite a bit not what you expect for the price at this point .
The restaurant is a showplace. We began our evening at a the bar decorated with magnificent chandeliers. Friday night is champagne night. After a half hour we moved to the Library and that was decorated with Tiffany stained glass and chandeliers from the Jefferson White House. After dinner we took a tour of the restaurant with our waitress. The entire place is really special. However, the 2 main dining rooms were very noisy. We were happy to be seated in the library. The food was exceptional. We had the crab claws as an appetizer, the steak and the rack of lamb. The dessert was a delicious chocolate soufflé. We will be back on our next trip to Miami. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is very special.
This was a rare occasion that the food was TERRIBLE. I have always had wonderful experiences there but there is a new chef and his/her inexperience shows. Blame Mac and cheese. Blame steal that was tough. Extremely disappointed.
Horrible experience! The food was dreadful. The service was horrible! The only thing my wife and I enjoyed was the beauty of the restaurant. I do not recommend anyone going! Not worth the price at all!
Way overpriced. Dessert was $29, which was ridiculous.
cocktails were not up to par
The food and service was outstanding.
Awesome Unbelievable atmosphere and amazing tour of wine cellar!
Been going for 20 years. It’s gone downhill very fast. Terrible service, steaks were just okay.
We had the best time for our anniversary!! Will definitely go back!!
This was our first experience at The Forge as we were vacationing in the city. We come from a very "foodie" town...Portland, Oregon and found the service impeccable...knowledgeable and seasoned. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the salads and sides delicious. Good value for an exceptional evening. Nice wine list. You won't be disappointed!
Everything was perfect
The cocktails were not correct, as ordered. We asked for a wine list to order a bottle with dinner, and never received it. Food was very expensive, and only average.
We were excited to go to the Forge given it’s many reviews on Trip Advisor and other websites. The food was well under par… nothing we ordered was good. I’d say the food was fair, but by no means very good at all. We decided to order several entree dishes + the sirloin, all to share in order to try out as many dishes as possible (we were a party of 3). We ordered the lamb ribs, the yellow fin tuna tartar and the mushroom ravioli. Nothing was good, quite disappointed in the quality of the food given that this is an expensive restaurant. Goes to show that $$$$ does not equal quality.
Excellent service and food. We loved it! Liked our waiter a lot. Thank you !
The service was horrible. It took 2 hours to receive our entrees. Every time I inquired, the waiter said the food would be out in a few minutes. Our entrees arrived over cooked. When I told the waiter, he brought me some gravy for the chicken. I wasn’t about to wait another 2 hours for another meal. This experience was horrible. For the money, go elsewhere.
Outstanding food. Excellent wine list. Decent service.
Our Waiter, Rita was amazing and is the embodiment of service that you would expect from such an establishment. The food was perfect!!!
We were disappointed that although foie gras is listed on the menu, they were out of it. Our seating was for 7:00 pm which seems too early to be out of an item on the menu. Unfortunately the only reason we were going to the Forge was for the foie gras.
Tina was outstanding . We had a great experience.
Sean was a great waiter and we truly loved our evening!
Over priced and food wasn't that good. Not worth it.
They overcharged me twice, billing me twice for my wife's entree and billing me $35 OVER the cost of my entree. Then they auto-included the tip, calculated based on the overcharged amount. My email complaint was followed up with a terse promise to have their accountant look at it and get back to me. Not even "I'm terribly sorry, we will take care of this right away."
I was a regular at The Forge, but not going back.
Simply the best can’t wait for it to reopen.
